“This is my second time boarding my dog with Grace and she is AMAZING! She takes such amazing care of my baby and always sends pictures and communicates. Grace is flexible and considerate. Could not recommend her more to anyone looking for quality pet boarding. Thanks Grace!”

“My fiance and I travel home to Boston every other weekend and William is our go to for Rocco our rambunctious 1 1/2 year old. He enjoys his time he spends with Will. Will lets Rocco play in the yard and has been working with him on his fetch game and giving up his toy. I believe William is the safest person, and best person we have found. I get pictures of Rocco and Will is very attentive to his schedule.”

“I was completely confident leaving my dog with them. They consistently provided updates with pictures and meal reports, which assured us of their responsible care.”

“Alice and her family were awesome with our beagle, Buster! He had a great time and clearly enjoyed spending the long weekend. We will definitely reach out again in the future when we need a rover for Buster!”

“Stefani is the BEST! We left our sweet Daffy with her and she took care of her as if she were her own :) I was a mess dropping Daffy off for the first time for a 5 night stay and got into the car knowing I made the best choice of a sitter. She checked in every day and really put my mind at ease. BEST! Thank you Stefani :)”

“I had a really great experience boarding Leo at Bhavani’s home! From the moment I sent her a request for boarding, I felt completely at ease. Bhavani has a calm, nurturing energy and a true love for animals that shows in everything she does. Her home is set up perfectly for dogs—safe, clean, and full of cozy spots and open space for play. It’s such a comforting alternative to a traditional kennel. My dog settled in quickly and was treated like a part of her family the entire time. What really stood out was the personal attention Bhavani gave. She took the time to understand my dog’s routines and personality, and she kept me updated with sweet messages and photos during the stay. It meant the world to know he was not only well cared for, but also genuinely loved. My dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. I’m so grateful we found Bhavani and wouldn’t hesitate to leave him in her care again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a home-based, heart-centered boarding experience!”

“Raj is an excellent dog sitter. Raj easy going, paying attention to detail and accommodating. Raj kept sending pictures and updates throughout the stay. Will book again, no doubt.”

“I highly recommend Anmol and Trupti! From the moment we met, I felt confident that Ollie would be in excellent hands. Trupti was exceptionally reliable and professional, paying meticulous attention to every detail of Ollie’s care. She kept me informed with regular updates, photos, and videos, which gave me peace of mind while I was traveling far from home. Trupti followed all of my instructions perfectly, from feeding and administering medication to managing playtime, walks, and mealtimes. When I returned, Ollie was happy, healthy, and content. It was clear that Trupti had formed a genuine bond with our dog and treated him with the same love and care that we would. Trupti is an outstanding dog sitter who combines expertise with heartfelt care. If you're looking for someone who is reliable, attentive, and truly passionate about dogs, look no further. We’ll definitely be calling on Trupti and Anmol again for our future pet sitting needs.”

“An amazing sitter who was willing to communicate about our booking right from the start! The entire family was part of our dog's experience and they treated him like a king! From outside play to belly rubs, our puppy had a better vacation than we did!! Communication was fantastic, lots of pictures and texts and couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely rebook for our next trip!”

“Rwitika was great with our dog over his 10-day stay. My dog seemed to have gotten along with her pets as well (dog and cats). She kept in touch with us with updates, pictures and videos. I would highly recommend her.”

“Lori was incredible with our puppy, Frank! He was extremely anxious and challenging this trip, but she handled him with such patience, calmness, and care. It was clear she has a lot of experience and knows how to make dogs feel safe and comfortable. She kept us updated throughout his stay and gave us real peace of mind.”

“Dhara and her family were friendly and caring hosts for our little man Mr. Darcy. That includes their pooch “Coco” who was playful and not territorial with a visiting doggie scampering around the house. Dhara sent plenty of updates and photos during Mr. Darcy’s visit as of an upcoming longer stay. The stay could not have gone better, and we’re very confident and comfortable leaving Mr. Darcy in the caring hands Dhara and her family going forward. Its clear that they’re “dog people” who care.”

“We had an amazing experience! The Anu provided continuous updates and photos of our dog's activities, which gave us complete peace of mind. Harvey seemed incredibly happy when he returned home—it truly felt like a home away from home for him. He also loved having the company of the Anu’s other small pets to play with. We highly recommend her services!"”
“Bonnie was available for a first time, last minute boarding request and the whole experience from a quick meet and greet onwards was great. Very reassuring to have Luke stay at her home. He was comfortable for sure. Thank you!”

“Jennifer was amazing to work with! We were so worried about leaving our dog with someone new, but he seemed to do great. Jennifer sent pictures or our dog often and kept in contact everyday we were gone. We felt so much peace knowing our pup was in good hands. We will forsure be booking with Jennifer in the future.”

“Laraine and Mike were more than wonderful. I have a Lab Mix who's very shy, but with them I could tell he had an amazing 2 weeks. He almost didn't want to leave and go home with. I know my dog will have them as sitters for life. Thank you Laraine and Mike for making his stay feel like he never left home.”

I have nothing but lovely things to say about Radwa. From the moment we met her, her bubbly and kind personality made us feel very welcome as we did our meet and greet. Her dogs, Lyla and Diesel are very sweet and made our dog, Sophie, feel very welcome. She is 7 months old and needs extra attention— Radwa was really great at maintaining that. She was communicative and let us do a second meet and greet since the first one was a little over a month away from our travel date. She is very accommodating, and I look forward to using her in the future again! Thank you, Radwa!

Perfect!!! Sindy was everything you want and need in a dog sitter! We had to drop off our two girls to stay overnight, and she sent so many pictures and videos. She really helped take the stress away! The pups were very happy with their stay, which means so were we! She also has a great set up in her fenced in yard. Highly recommend her and will definitely use Sindy again for our own boarding needs next time we visit!

The best dog sitter that anybody could ever have. He’s very loving to my animals. He does all extra things that I don’t ask him to do like baths. I do believe he plays with them and has a good time with them and makes them feel at home. I know if she’s watching them that they’re safe.

Such a wonderful experience with Doug and Michelle. My very anxious dog looked relaxed and at home in every picture. Communication was easy and thorough. My pup's complicated medication and treat schedule were followed perfectly!! I very highly recommend this sitter!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
