From the start, him and his wife were incredibly communicative in sending us regular updates, pictures, and even videos that gave us total peace of mind. It was clear our pup was having a blast and being very well taken care of. Their dog Kaju was great company for our dog Bruno. They were also extremely knowledgeable about dogs and handled everything with confidence and care.. “Margarita was the first time i used Rover. This was also the first time i left my pup with someone besides a close friend or family member. Margarita was very friendly and did not have any problem with me having questions or asking a few times during the 6 night stay how she was doing. Took her for nice long walks, even though from what i saw, it rained quite a bit. She sent a few videos of the walks and i know she was well taken care of. I will def be a return customer of hers for as long as she is available to watch my pup”

Mylo felt so loved.. we will definitely visit again.”

Lineth was a great sitter! Our dog, Loki, is great but can definitely be challenging, so we’re always a little nervous leaving him, especially with someone new and for a longer stay. He was with Lineth for two weeks and seemed very happy and comfortable with her. She had great communication throughout his stay and sent us lots of updates, which we really appreciated and helped put us at ease. We wouldn’t hesitate to have Lineth watch Loki again!

Shannon was AMAZING with our pup! She sent us pics and funny updates throughout his stay, which made me feel so comfortable knowing that he was being taken cared of. She took him on tons of walks and to the fenced in dog park. She also let him make himself comfy on her couch and bed so he was cozy. I would definitely recommend Shannon and will definitely book with her again if she is available.

Our dog Oreo had a wonderful stay! Firdavs was very communicative and provided regular updates on Oreo daily with pictures; he enjoyed his time there very much and was happy the entire time. We really appreicated the excellent care and would highly recommend!
We can't thank Jacqueline enough for being able to watch Sedona on short notice. You were wonderful to go through her care instructions so thoroughly and for you and Mimi to welcome her into your home and shower her with loving care. All of the photos and updates were much appreciated!

Shreena took amazing care of Omy again! This time Omy stayed with her for an entire month, and everything was perfect. She treated him like her own, kept him happy and comfortable, and gave regular updates. At the end, she even gave him a bath which was such a nice touch — he came back super clean and fresh. Overall, we were very happy and will definitely book with her again!

Such a wonderful experience with Doug and Michelle. My very anxious dog looked relaxed and at home in every picture. Communication was easy and thorough. My pup's complicated medication and treat schedule were followed perfectly!! I very highly recommend this sitter!!

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! than Neha . She took such wonderful care of my pup while I was away. She made sure he was fed, walked, and given lots of attention and love. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
