“Debi made everything so easy and took great care of our dog, constantly sharing updates and pictures. Her house and property is set up perfectly. She was also extremely accommodating and patient when helping us with some unique requests for our wedding day. I would recommend Debi to anyone in need of boarding.”

“Thank you Bhavani for taking care of my pup Rajah, I was so anxious leaving him for the weekend but happy he got to stay in a home where he was well taken care of and had a lot of play time! Thank you also for constantly keeping me updated with pictures and videos!”

“Kajal was an amazing dog sitter for my pup, Zuko. She kindly accepted him on very short notice, which I greatly appreciated. Zuko can be quite picky with his food, but Kajal handled his needs with great care and made sure he was well-fed and comfortable. Throughout his stay, she kept me updated with regular photos and videos, which gave me peace of mind and showed how well he was doing. I highly recommend Kajal to anyone looking for a responsible and thoughtful sitter. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Luna loves staying with Whitney and Michael and family. She has so much fun with the girls and also playing with their dog. They take great care of her and are understanding when I forget something for Luna and they step right up and fill in what’s missing. This is a great home for my puppy when I have to be away.”

About: I've had pets in my home all my life and have always helped care for them. Including: dogs, rabbits, rats, lizards, and fish. Dogs have always been my favorite animal and I love caring for them by walking them in interesting places or feeding them, even sleeping with them! I finally got a dog of my own at 15 and for the past several years have walked her weekly. Now I have 2 and have learned to manage them both while walking simultaneously. I try to go on light hiking trails or to parks, switching up the location every time. I am currently free most weekends. On Fridays, I'm free after 2 PM typically, but occasionally my girlfriend will be free, in which case she can take dogs on Friday morning for boarding. Just ask and I'll let you know when I'm available on a particular Friday. In my home, my dogs are well-fed with a healthy diet of kibble twice a day, eggs in the morning, and chicken strips at night. They each get baths once every few weeks. We also always prefer they are never alone for more than a few hours at a time. If we leave even for one night, we make sure we have someone visit them every few hours for feeding and letting out. Otherwise, we make sure they feel as loved as possible with lots of petting and sitting together!
“Kristen was amazing! I was staying at a hotel nearby for a wedding and found her. Her great reviews sold me on choosing her and it was the right choice. Very communicative and sent lots of photos! Asked detailed questions about his routine/schedule to make sure he’d be ok. She was nice and flexible with me for pickup/drop off knowing it was a drive for me and I had family events that didn’t have an actual end time set (just approximate) If I’m in the area again and needed a sitter I’d 1000% rebook!”

“Very kind, thoughtful boarder. Updated me constantly with pictures and videos. Even took extra time at odd hours to stay with my dog when she was crying from separation anxiety and I am so grateful.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I cannot say enough wonderful things about Thana and Subangi. They stepped in during a true emergency involving my elderly mother, and their kindness and flexibility meant more to me than I can express. They picked up Gigi right away and kept her for as long as we needed, completely removing one major worry from an already stressful situation. From the very beginning, they were in constant contact — sending thoughtful updates, pictures, and videos that reassured me Gigi was safe, comfortable, and happy. What stood out most was how genuinely they welcomed her into their home as if she were their own dog. You could see in every photo how relaxed and loved she felt. That level of warmth and care is rare. If you are looking for responsible, compassionate, and communicative dog sitters, Thana and Subangi are truly exceptional. I would trust them again in a heartbeat. 💛🐾”

About: I've always loved all animals since I was a kid but have a special affinity for dogs and cats. I lost my sweet pup, Ewan, in 2019 to Hemangiocarcoma (a blood cancer) and to this day I still mourn him and can feel his presence in my life. I also lost my dear cat, Figaro, last year to natural old age causes. I'm a very good dog and cat dad and miss them terribly. In the past few years, so many friends and family have asked me to pet sit their fur babies and they always remark that they know their dog or cat is in the best possible hands with me. That they can actually relax on their trip because of how responsible and devoted I am to their pets and how much their pets adore me. Everyone has been encouraging me to sign up for Rover and now I'm finally doing it! I honestly believe Ewan and Figaro guided me here in their own way to spend time with your beloved kiddos. I look forward to getting to meet you and your pets! I work remotely from home as a story consultant and my longest sessions are around 2 hours, so I have most of the day to hang out with your fur baby! If your pet is staying at my place, they'll most likely hang out with me in the large loft area where I work. So they won't be left alone (unless they're the type that needs their space!) The minute they tell me they need to go out for a walk or really just need attention, I'm all theirs. If they're used to taking naps or sleeping on the bed at night, that also is fine by me! :) If I'm at your place, of course I'll abide by your exact rules for them. I follow instructions well and provide plenty of photo updates so you can relax and know your fur baby is in good hands!
“My wife and I so greatly appreciate Lupe's exceptional care of my 2 year old dog, Roopert (Roo) during my first Rover experience, which was an entire week! We are accustomed to leaving Roo with close family or friends, so I was initially apprehensive about Rover. However, Lupe's outstanding communication and daily updates, including plenty of photos and videos eased our worries. With Roopert weighing almost 70 lbs and bursting with energy, I truly appreciated Lupe's dedication to spending quality time playing with him, including fetch in his spacious, fully fenced yard, and just his overall competence as it pertained to dog behavior, and the needs associated. When I picked up Roopert this morning, he looked fantastic – clean, content, and absolutely joyful. Lupe's top-notch service and genuine care for our boy are so greatly appreciated. I wholeheartedly recommend Lupe to anyone seeking trustworthy and loving care for their furry friend. Thanks, Lupe!”

About: I have been petsitting for the past 3 years and during that time I have cared for dogs and cats of all ages and sizes, as well as chickens, goats, birds, rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs... and I love them all! In addition to petsitting, I also have 3 small dogs and two parakeets of my own - there is never a dull moment! I currently attend Rutgers University- With my schedule, I can care for your pet in the mornings before class, during lunch/mid day breaks (during the week I have 2 hours between classes around lunch time, which is when I can come and care for your pet) and when I get home from classes around 5pm. I am also available during the weekends! I spend time with the pets I care for, giving them lots of love and attention, and really enjoy taking them on walks too! I am a firm believer in following instructions and will stick to your described routine, to ensure the most safety and ease for your beloved pet.
“We are incredibly grateful to Evgenii for the amazing care Patrick received. This was a very last-minute booking, and from Thursday night through Monday evening everything went absolutely smoothly. Evgenii was communicative, reliable, and clearly treated Patrick like his own. It gave us real peace of mind knowing our Patrick was in such good hands. We truly appreciate the flexibility and care and would not hesitate to book again. Highly recommend Evgenii!”

“We had a wonderful experience! Cocoa was so well cared for, and it was clear he felt happy, comfortable, and loved. Their whole family, including the kids, was involved in caring for him, which made for such a warm and welcoming environment. We really appreciated the updates and the attention they gave him. We’d absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!”

“Luciana was amazing with Bourbon! She took such great care of him, especially considering I needed a sitter at the last minute. She was incredibly accommodating and kept me updated every day with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. Bourbon is a puppy with a ton of energy, and she handled him so well. I could tell he was happy, well cared for, and getting all the attention he needed. I would 100% recommend Luciana to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy pet sitter. She is truly amazing!”

“Stefani is the BEST! We left our sweet Daffy with her and she took care of her as if she were her own :) I was a mess dropping Daffy off for the first time for a 5 night stay and got into the car knowing I made the best choice of a sitter. She checked in every day and really put my mind at ease. BEST! Thank you Stefani :)”

“Literally cannot say enough great things about Cherish! My dog had such an amazing time with her this weekend. I got frequent updates and knew that my baby was in safe hands. Thank you again!”

We left our 9 year old dog with Anu for an extended stay and are very pleased with the care she took of him. She provided him love and play and he soon settled in, becoming comfortable with her and her family. She kept us informed of his daly moods and routine, providing regular updates with pictures. She was also very quick and responsive to our queries. We highly recommend Anu and will definitely be using her services again.

Rose is wonderful! Super responsive and so kind. She took amazing care of my dog while I was away, and I received regular updates. It is clear Rose truly loves dogs and treats them like family. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!

The best dog sitter that anybody could ever have. He’s very loving to my animals. He does all extra things that I don’t ask him to do like baths. I do believe he plays with them and has a good time with them and makes them feel at home. I know if she’s watching them that they’re safe.

Shreena took amazing care of Omy again! This time Omy stayed with her for an entire month, and everything was perfect. She treated him like her own, kept him happy and comfortable, and gave regular updates. At the end, she even gave him a bath which was such a nice touch — he came back super clean and fresh. Overall, we were very happy and will definitely book with her again!

Such a wonderful experience with Doug and Michelle. My very anxious dog looked relaxed and at home in every picture. Communication was easy and thorough. My pup's complicated medication and treat schedule were followed perfectly!! I very highly recommend this sitter!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
