About: I have taken care of pets of all kinds since the age of 10. Families, friends neighbors always replied on me to pet sit for them. I’m very comfortable with any types of dogs or cats. I’ve taken care of all age range’s from puppies/kittens to seniors cats/dog. I currently work full-time, but I have time on Friday and Saturday to play with pets! I can board pets Thursday-Sunday! I am very consistent with routine and stay to a strict schedule I have a apartment that is very cat friendly. I have my own cat who is friendly with other pets and she can keep your fur baby company!

“Eleanor is amazing with my cats and they both really respond to her, even my shy cat! She's also very communicative and responsive and is comfortable getting detailed instructions (both of my cats require special medicine / feeding instructions). This isn't my first time booking her for cat care and I would definitely book her again!”

About: Greyhound lady with over a decade training and caring for dogs, including certifying two rescued racetrack greyhounds as therapy dogs through Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs. I've cared for five rescue dogs over the years — four greyhounds and a pug mix — handling everything from puppy adjustment to senior care, including medications, mobility needs, and end-of-life support. I use calm, positive-reinforcement handling and I'm skilled at reading a dog's stress or comfort level in real time, so walks stay relaxed and enjoyable. I'm also experienced with nervous or reactive dogs, having safely de-escalated an unleashed dog confrontation while working a mail route. My own dog takes 1.5 hours walk per day. We love Donaldson Park and the Highland Park Meadows, Johnson Park, Cheesequake and Morristown National Park for treats. Safety comes first on every walk. I read each dog's body language and comfort level before we even leave the door, and I adjust pace, route, or duration accordingly — a skill I built training two rescued greyhounds as certified therapy dogs. I stay alert to hazards like other loose animals, traffic, and extreme heat, and I know how to calmly de-escalate a tense situation if one arises. I treat every pet with the same patience and care I give my own rescue dogs, and I communicate clearly with owners before and after each walk so they always know how their pet is doing.
“Laura also did drop ins for us and sent us such detailed updates and photos. She played with them and made sure they were doing well. Any inquiries I had, she replied to right away. Thank you again Laura!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 13. I currently have a mini goldeen doodle who I have trained myself! He loves all his furry friends and loves giving kisses as well! I currently work from home so I have lots of time to spend with any pup and take on potty breaks! We also get in some nap time as well! For day care I am available from 7am to 7pm! If you need any extra hours I can make arrangements with an extra fee! I have a decently sized apartment that has lots of room to play. Hulk loves to share all his toys and play with his furry friends! I have a gated area for my kitchen as well!

“Jasmin was so lovely and made me feel really comfortable leaving my cats, even in a period when they've both been having some minor health issues! She also took great pictures :).”

“Thalia is a great cat sitter! She is punctual, has great communication skills, left great notes and photos, and followed my directions perfectly. I will definitely request her services again!”

About: I brought my rescue dog, mochi, home when I was 11, and raised him till he was 18! Mochi gave me lots of experience of how to properly care for a senior dog. Ever since he passed away, I’ve been taking care of my friend’s dogs and cats. I always have lots of fun and decided to make it my side hustle:) I am currently working part time so I will be able to give your pets lots of love and attention. My schedule is flexible so I can accommodate to when your pets need to stay at my home. My apartment door, windows, and main building door are always locked. I will make sure your pets get well fed on time and always have clean water ready. I love cuddles and walking!
“Celestine did a fabulous job caring for my two cats this past weekend. They took good care of them, kept them company, fed them, and cleaned up two messes they made. I really appreciated Celestine's care and would definitely hire them again.”

“Tessa did an awesome job of keeping us informed while we were away during our trip and sending us lots if photos. Our pets seemed happy and loved on. House was in order when we returned and she went above and beyond doing somethings we didn't expect her to take care of such as taking out trash and scooping litter since it was a short trip.”

“Thank you Michael for taking such good care of our baby P! It’s clear from the pictures that he loves you! As much as we miss him while we are away, we always know that he will be in good hands with you!”

About: Hi! I’m Quin. I grew up with cats, dogs, a bunny, and was a member of an Alpaca 4-H club since I was in 3rd grade, I don’t know a world without animals. I genuinely love getting to know people’s pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. My current house currently boasts four cats of various ages, from kittens to an old lady, and a young Australian Shepherd mix. Because of this, I'm very comfortable with both cats, dogs, and households that have multiple pets. I've also spent a large part of my life caring for senior animals and pets who need a little extra attention. I've managed medications, special diets, frequent potty breaks, and other individualized care, including caring for a previous dog with a seizure disorder. My approach to pet care is to meet each animal where they are. I love matching their energy, whether that means a long walk and plenty of playtime, some quiet companionship, or simply giving a shy pet the time and space they need to become comfortable with me. I'm detail-oriented and happy to follow specific routines and care instructions because I know how important it is to feel confident that your pet is being cared for exactly the way you would care for them. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, house sitting, and cat sitting. I'm happy to care for pets who need extra attention or have special routines, and I always want to make your time away as easy and worry-free as possible. Most importantly, I want your pets to feel like they have a friend looking after them while you're gone. If that sounds like the kind of pet care you need, please reach out to me! I am currently a part-time student with another job on top of Rover, so please take a look at the calendar to book with me! Pet safety is my top priority. I am familiar with dealing with cats and dogs who don't get along and make sure not just to stop dangerous scenarios but also to prevent them altogether.
About: I have over 6 years of hands-on experience caring for a 60 lb Labrador Retriever, whom I raised from puppyhood. During that time, I learned how to understand dog behavior, body language, exercise needs, and daily routines at every stage of life. I also have experience caring for cats and understand that every pet has its own unique personality. I take the time to build trust, whether a pet is playful, shy, or needs extra patience. Although I no longer have my Labrador, the experience gave me a strong foundation in responsible pet care. I treat every pet as if they were my own, following each owner’s instructions carefully to ensure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m a faculty at Rutgers, and most of my teaching is online, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to spend a lot of time at home. This makes it easy for me to provide pets with regular attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I plan my schedule to ensure every pet in my care receives consistent supervision and the care they need. I live in a clean, pet-friendly two-bedroom apartment near downtown New Brunswick. I make sure pets have a safe, comfortable, and calm environment where they can relax and feel at home. I follow each pet’s regular routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions provided by the owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain the pet’s normal routine to help reduce stress. I provide plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and regular updates with photos so owners can feel confident that their pets are safe and well cared for.
About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 7 years old. I grew up with a German Shepherd named Eva, the love of my life. While a sophomore in high school, I began working at a dog daycare called Pups@Play Montclair. That job gave me invaluable knowledge of dog behavior and relationship dynamics. I learned the intricacies of their behavior, body language, personality, whether they were high energy or low energy, active or reactive, etc. I used that to diffuse many doggy disputes. I worked with and managed 50+ dogs everyday. Daschunds, puppies, mutts, great danes, shepherds, samoyeds, bulldogs, pitbulls, hairless, everything. I can handle any dog I meet. You can trust me to handle your dog with care, happiness, love, understanding, and patience. I am fit and ready to play! Dogs hold such a special place in my heart and I can't wait to meet yours! I am a student at Rutgers New Brunswick and my schedule currently has me free after 5pm on weekdays and any time after 9am on weekends. I can potentially be available if there is a special circumstance but that is by no means a guarantee. I do not currently offer boarding services. If I were to offer boarding, your dog would be comfortable, happy, hydrated, and well-fed. Have a great day, talk to you soon!
About: Living in New Brunswick with some friends. I have cats but I'm not allowed dogs in our house. Growing up with dogs it's hard to be away from them. Taking care of someone else's pets would be a pleasure and would brighten my day. I walk to work everyday and live outside Rutgers campuses and near some beautiful parks, giving me tons of places to bring your dogs and the stamina to keep up with them on long walks. My oldest dog back home is a big pitbull, so big dogs are right up my alley, and both my dogs can get quite rowdy so I know how to handle animals when they get out of control. I'm currentky working at later in the day and at night so I'm available during the day. I ride my bike or walk to appointments so I'm looking for clients in New Brunswick and Highland Park. I enjoy going on quiet walks in places without too much hustle and bustle. If your pet gets overwhelmed in rowdy environments, you can count on me to give the a calm yet playful day.

“This was our first time working with Maya, and she was fantastic! She was so attentive to our cats and kept us updated throughout the whole trip, which made it easy to relax and enjoy our time away. Great communication from start to finish! you can tell she really cares. We’ll definitely be booking her again!”

About: I grew up with dogs and helped raise two litters of bernese mountain dog puppies. Six years ago, I adopted my own dog, Harley, who is a vizsla/catahoula leopard dog mix. Through my experience caring for Harley, I’ve acquired skills to help fearful dogs enjoy walks and adventures while helping dogs learn to feel safe and secure in their environments. I am currently a graduate student and have a very flexible schedule for dog walking! Walking dogs is one of the best parts of my day! I care for my client’s dogs the same as I do my own. Building trust with dogs through patience and kindness will set a strong foundation for many fun times together!

Super pet sitter. Got to meet Jasmin before going away for 2 weeks & having her care for our cat with drop-in visits. She was easy to communicate & coordinate with, very understanding of our cat’s kind of special needs & I felt very comfortable leaving Teddy while we were away. Would recommend & will book again!

Thalia is so great with our 3 month old puppy! We are very grateful of her help. Her update is always detailed and truly catering to what we are looking at. Thank you! We saw that Kuma likes you a lot! Hope to be able to book you again when we needed assitance.

This is our second time doing a pretty extensive request with Yan, multiple stops a day for various days, and just like last time I really enjoyed having Yan as our sitter! Jack has warmed up to her, she has good communication, and I look forward to the next time she can dog sit for us!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
