“This was my first time using the service (and a first time I traveled without my dog) - Erin was phenomenal! For 5 walks (across morning/afternoon/evening) she arrived either earlier or right on time as scheduled! She offered to come to my home the day before I left (for a meet & greet) and this was a wonderful way to have my pup feel comfortable. I received immediate updates and photos of all activity so I never was left wondering. Overall Erin provided an amazing experience and I would not hesitate to book again. Thanks Erin! 😊”

About: My home was set up for an 80lb dog with a fenced in yard and areas around the house. Should be very comfortable for any dog. I’m very attentive to the pets, making sure their needs are met and that they are safe and sound. When I take on a job, my schedule is pretty cleared out for it since I’m a retired person. I can schedule my time around the care of your pet. I care for pets in my home by keeping an eye on them. Taking them out into the fenced yard and walking them twice a day. If they like to play fetch or tug I’ll do that with them too. I keep them fed, watered, exercised and rested.
“I’ve said this many, many times & will say it again - Yvette is the absolute best! She goes above & beyond for my fur babies - she even took my high-energy puppy out to the park in the rain & wind during her scheduled walk. I reached out super last minute in a pinch to see if she was available, and she responded right away and said she could walk my puppy the next day. She also takes the best pics & leaves detailed rover cards so we can see how they are doing. We are so thankful - THANK YOU! 😻🐈⬛🐶”

“Chris is a great addition to our “Team Burton” care team. He is kind, responsible & gentle with Burton and we love having him come over to take Burton for walks. We will keep using Chris whenever we need additional help!”

“Mike was awesome! He took such great care of my dog while walking her. He went the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable and happy. Will absolutely be using him for all my future walks!”

About: I've been walking dogs since I was 15 years old, when I built my own client base doing walks and drop-in visits for families while they were away. That early experience taught me how to read a dog's personality fast and earn their trust from day one. Since then, I worked as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic, where I learned a lot about dogs' medical needs — from spotting early signs something's off to understanding how to safely support pets with health conditions. I'm excited to get back to hands-on care and bring both my years of walking experience and my vet clinic knowledge to your pup. I'm off consistently on Tuesdays and Saturdays, so I have full flexibility those days for walks, drop-ins, or sitting. On the days I do work, my schedule can vary, but I'm reliably free by 5 pm at the latest — often earlier. I get my work schedule 3 weeks in advance, so I can confirm exact availability early and plan around recurring bookings easily. I keep a calm, consistent routine so pets feel comfortable whether we're in my home or theirs — sticking to their regular feeding times, bathroom breaks, and playtime. I'm comfortable administering basic medications, having done so for my own dog in the past, and my vet clinic background means I know how to recognize signs of illness or distress and when something needs extra attention. I'm also good at reading individual personalities and take extra care with shy or nervous dogs, since my own dog was the same way — I know how to build trust at their pace. Your pet's safety and comfort always come first.
“We use Alexa to walk our doggo Luna while on vacation. We use her for all of our trips when Luna will be home alone for a long period and to break up her day and give her exercise when the household is all working outside of the house. She finds a way to support the times we need and shares updates and pictures from the walks.”

“I was very hesitant to use rover. I did not like the idea of random people just coming into my home. Then we found Nicholas and I am so happy we used rover. He has helped me out so many times and my 3 year old golden doodle loves him. I highly recommend using Nicholas if you’re looking for an amazing person to care for your dog.”

Adriane is wonderful with my puppies. She is punctual, reliable, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive to my two crazy Boston Terriers. She is patient, caring, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I always feel at ease knowing they are in such good hands, and they are always happy and well cared for after their walks. I truly appreciate her professionalism, dependability, and the kindness she shows my dogs every time.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
