Nadine B.
“Nadine is wonderful! Our senior dog is getting older and is blind and partially deaf. We needed help with daily walks. When it comes to our fur babies - old or young - you want someone to treat them as you treat them - with all the love and kindness in the world. Nadine does exactly that and treats him like he is one of her own pups! She is not only responsible and loving but kind, patient and trustworthy! We are very lucky to have her and feel so comfortable and confident when she walks him. I would highly recommend Nadine to care for your pet!”

About: I have helped with my friend’s dogs since I was younger, of all different breeds and sizes. I have immense love for pets and will take care of yours like my own. I have a rescue myself and I know how meaningful a pet is to their family. I work from home full time and am also taking classes but I have flexibility to work with your schedule and help with your dog’s needs. I will be able to cater to your dogs specific needs. I know that there isn’t a “one-size fits all,” for your pets and will be happy and willing to learn what is best for your dog.

About: I've always loved animals but never had pets growing up. A few years back I inherited my grandparents senior dog after they passed and it truly changed my life. She was diagnosed with diabetes and unfortunately lost most of her vision. I love her more than I can say and I've learned a lot about taking care of older pets with special needs. I have plenty of experience with giving injections and other medications as needed. I work full time but most days I work from home so I can be pretty flexible. Wednesdays and Fridays I'm in the office from around 12-4 but otherwise I'm in the area. Happy to work with you to find a time that works. I live in a small condo so I don't have much room for boarding but I would be more than happy to stay with your pets in their own home. I find they're much more comfortable and relaxed at home.

About: Like many of us pet people, I've always had an affinity for our pawed, hooved, wild, and feathered counterparts, and grew up working on my neighbors farm to prove my dedication and ability to care for a pet of our own. My dad finally caved, and 20 years later, he's now the one spoiling his own dog. The pup who now calls me her human is a 7 year old mixed border collie rescue that's been with me since she was 6 months old. In her youth, Fallon was my partner on several long distance backpacking hikes (on which she probably racked up 2x the amount of miles I did!). Though she is now retired from long distance hiking, we are equally happy exploring new local parks as we are lounging about. In addition to caring for animals of different species, sizes, and temperaments, I also have experience with animal training and a background in animal physiology and psychology, so rest assured your pawed loved one-young, nervous, excitable, aging, reactive, or recovering-will be in steady and compassionate hands. If your pet displays any behaviors that you are concerned about finding compatible care for, please reach out with the nature of your concerns, when the symptomatic behavior seems to occur, and what the current plan of action is, if any. I'm also happy to talk to you more about my experience and approach to working with animals (positive psychology), behavior concerns or not. I can't wait to meet them! Schedule: I am in graduate school and set my work schedule as necessary. Though I appreciate advanced notice, my schedule is flexible and I can accommodate same day requests, if needed. I strive to provide trustworthy and high quality pet care at reasonable and transparent rates. Please reach out if you have any questions or requirements that aren't being met by the services below. --SERVICES!-- Include a complimentary meet & greet. --DOG WALKING: A 30 minute walk in your neighborhood. The walk does not start until pup is on the leash and doesn't end until we are back. A walk may be shorter if your pup indicates they are excessively tired, hurt, or if continuing would otherwise be detrimental to them. Should this happen, I will let you know, the reason why, and that time will be made up in the safety of your home. Before leaving they will get a full bowl of water and paws will be cleaned off, if needed (please leave a doggie towel!). For dogs that pull or are working on leash training, please have a harness available. --DROP IN VISITS: A drop in visit is 30 minutes long for up to 2 pets in your home. In addition to love, it includes: going out in your yard, socialization, playtime, feeding, medication giving, fresh water, sickness/recovery update (if needed), going out in your yard, litterbox cleaning, and aquarium feeding. Have a special request? Let me know. If you would like to include an additional 15-minute walk, the base rate is $38 inclusive of drop in services and walk. --*SERVICES FOR KNOWN CLIENTS or on a case-by-case basis: --HOUSE SITTING: Starts at $75/24hr period. This includes everything the drop in service provides. I also offer overnight only visits for a discounted rate, starting at $40/10hr period (please note that this is intended for non consecutive days and emergencies- I know how hard it can be to find someone if you unexpectedly find yourself waiting for AAA!). --BATH/GROOM and or DE-MATTING: Prices vary according to size and temperament and quality of brush out requested. I use a sterilized furminator brush, oatmeal shampoo/conditioner, and trim nails (please provide clippers/dremel). --PICK/UP DROP OFF: For transportation to a self-service dog wash facility (if there is not a suitable space for grooming on site) or to a hiking destination/dog park (great for dogs with high energy!) Environment and Philosophy: I am deeply influenced by my background in psychology and use a positive psychology informed approach. To me, this means we (the pet and the provider) build trust and our connection by meeting each other's needs. I start by trying to be consistent and predictable when it comes to walks/feedings/behavior reinforcement, minimizing my own reactivity/startle response, and provide intentional behavior intervention.
