All 4 of my pets adore Mia, which makes me feel very comfortable leaving them in her care when I travel. I really appreciate her daily pictures. They make me feel connected and reassured that my little guys are happy while I’m away.

Georgette is the best. As a repeat customer, I can also say that she continues to be the best! We've hired her for in-house overnight dog sitting for our pack of four dogs, on at least 3 separate occasions and we wouldn't hesitate to book again and again with her. She's super professional, communicative, respectful and goes above and beyond when she's with our dogs. She's earned our trust and we hope to continue to work with her in the future. Don't hesitate to go with Georgette for any of your pet care needs!

About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lovers with a deep passion of caring for pets of all kinds. Growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, and plenty of other furry (and not-so-furry) friends taught me how much love and care they deserve. My top priority is always making sure your pets are happy, healthy, and feeling loved. From feeding routines and walks to cuddle time (or just calm company for the more independent types), I make sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for according to their unique personality. I love keeping pets engaged with fun, stimulating activities. For cats, that might mean interactive toys, puzzle feeders, or laser play. For dogs, it’s usually games of fetch, tug-of-war, or a good old-fashioned frisbee toss. Even reptiles get the same thoughtful attention (maybe less cuddling, but plenty of care and respect!). Every pet deserves the best care possible, and that’s what I promise to provide. Whether you’re going away for a day or a week, I will treat your furry family member as if they were our own. I’d love to meet your pets and help you feel at ease while you’re away!

We had a fantastic experience with Micaela! We decided on a spontaneous 3-day vacation and needed someone reliable to care for our two dogs — and she absolutely delivered. Micaela covered three long 11-hour shifts and took such great care of our pups. Our dogs were happy, calm, and clearly felt safe and comfortable the entire time. She was also respectful and kind with my dad, who was home during the visits, and made sure everything ran smoothly. We came home to relaxed dogs and peace of mind — couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend Micaela to anyone looking for a dependable and caring sitter!

Megan is hands down the best sitter who has ever watched Cujo while I've been out of town. Quick to respond to a last minute request, took the time to do a meet&greet, asked excellent questions, and Cujo could not have been in better hands. In all the adorable pictures Megan sent, I could see that he was having an absolute blast. The apt was spotless when I got home and Cujo seemed genuinely bummed that his new BFF had to leave. I cannot recommend her highly enough and she will be my go-to for any trips I have to take in the future.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats for years and truly enjoy spending time with animals. I understand the importance of patience, safety, and consistency when caring for pets. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure your pet feels comfortable, loved, and well cared for. I’m responsible, dependable, and will treat every pet like they’re my own. I work full-time, but I’m available for cat visits before or after work and on most weekends. I’m happy to work with your schedule whenever possible and will always communicate clearly about my availability. I understand how important consistency is for cats and will make sure they receive reliable care and attention. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll carefully follow your care instructions, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box cleaning, walk, medication (if needed), and playtime. I always respect your home, keep everything clean and secure, and provide updates with photos so you can feel confident that your cat is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I offer thoughtful, in-home pet care designed for comfort, safety, and peace of mind—especially during holidays and extended stays. I welcome no more than 4 dogs at a time, ensuring each pet receives individualized attention in a calm, structured environment. Pets are never left alone, and I carefully separate them by size and temperament. Cats enjoy their own private, quiet space, completely separate from dogs. I have experience caring for rescue dogs and cats, senior pets, and pets who may need extra patience and reassurance while their families are away. During holidays and long stays, I focus on keeping routines consistent so pets feel secure and at home. Neighborhood walks and medication administration are included at no additional charge, and I provide plenty of love, supervision, and one-on-one time. For safety and handling considerations, a $25 additional fee applies to dogs over 100 lbs. Pet care is a family-supported service, and I work closely with my daughter Alexny, allowing for constant supervision, attentive care, and a warm, home-like environment where your pet is treated like family—even while you’re away. Pet care is part of my daily routine, not something I fit in between other commitments. Because I care for pets from my home, I am able to provide consistent supervision, regular walks, timely meals, and plenty of one-on-one attention throughout the day. I plan my schedule around the pets in my care and follow their individual routines closely. With the support of my daughter Alexny, pets are never left alone, and care remains steady and attentive during weekdays, weekends, and holidays. This allows me to offer a calm, structured, and reliable environment where pets feel safe and cared for at all times. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and emotional well-being are always my top priorities. I provide care in a calm, clean, and structured home environment, and pets are never left alone. I limit the number of pets I care for so each one receives close supervision and individualized attention. For outdoor time, I offer a large enclosed deck and a spacious backyard where one side is fenced and the other is secured with a portable fence to ensure dogs are safely protected at all times. Outdoor play is always closely supervised. I can also crate your dog if needed, always following your preferences. Pets are thoughtfully separated by size and temperament, and cats have their own quiet, dedicated space, completely separate from dogs. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including meals, walks, medications, and rest, to help them feel secure and at ease. I have experience with rescue pets, senior pets, and pets who need extra patience and reassurance, and I use gentle, positive handling at all times. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and stress-free environment where pets feel at home and pet parents have complete peace of mind.

I couldn't be happier with the exceptional care provided by Matt during his week-long stay in my home. Hiring a pet sitter was stressful, but I couldn't be happier with the results. In the past I only allowed long-time friends to sit my pets. I didn't have that option this time. I am so happy I found Matt. He came to my home to meet me and my pets. I could tell right away he was a patient animal lover and was interested in getting to know and have a relationship with my pets. This first meeting provided me with some reassurance. Matt provided me with regular updates and great pictures while staying at my home and my stress level continued to decrease. Matt did a wonderful job caring for my home, my 3-year-old Golden, and my 2 house cats. While on vacation I even heard from a neighbor who met Matt and commented on how great he was with my Golden. She is now interested in using Matt as a pet sitter. Not only do I recommend Matt I want to thank him again for doing such a great job.

About: ⚠If you're new to Rover use my Promo code "XAVIEM67281" to get a 💲20 discount off the first service you use with me. ⚠ I have been taking care of pets for as long as I can remember. Not a day goes by that I'm not taking care of the family pets or someone else's. I have walked, checked on, and baby sat dogs of all different shapes and sizes. I use to take care of my neighbors dogs, when she wasn't available. Took dogs to the vet when they had no one else to do it. And I have been a dog walker for about 5 years now. I have walked small dogs such as miniature poodles to bigger dogs such as pitbulls. Your furry friend will be in good hands. I'm currently working part time on Mondays through Fridays, but I have a flexible schedule. I'll feed and take the dog out in the mornings, and after work. During the weekend they'll have my fully undevivded attention through out the whole day I have a fenced in yard with several friendly dogs who will happily play with visitors. I also have some cats but they keep to themselves, lounging around in a separate room from the dogs. Your pets will mostly be under my watchful eye, for I will be home, most of the day watching them. Micaela is THE BEST. We booked her last minute for a 10 day trip for our wedding and honeymoon. She was supposed to stay with our 3 pets for 5 days but was beyond flexible when we asked to extend because of the snow storm. My animals were so happy. She sent lots of pics and updates and made sure we came back to a clean house. We hope to have you over again :) thank you for everything and your little buddies miss you!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Helmetta

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 3,767 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Helmetta. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Helmetta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Helmetta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Helmetta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Helmetta. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
