About: I'm a veterinary technician, I have 20 yrs experience in taking care of dogs and cats. I am CPR certified and I can administer medications if needed. Besides my medical background as a animal lover, I can offer great companionship to your best friend while your gone. I currently have a 7 month old Australian shepherd who loves to play and can also offer friendship. I've been taking care of my friends and family's pets while they go on vacation since I was 19 yrs old. I'm confident in my ability to take care of dogs. I'm currently not working and staying home with our kids and animals. I walk our dog in the morning then hang out the rest of the day, my kids play with our dog. I live on 5 acres but we have fenced off an area behind our house for our dog and goats. I have a plastic kid pool to help them stay cool in the summer. I typically feed my pets twice a day and a treat mid-day. My house can get pretty loud with my kids yell and screaming when then play. My kids are 10 yr (son) and 9 yrs(daughter) old, I have a husband who loves to play with the kids and dog, it can get a little crazy at our house. I also have a 7 month old mini Australian shepherd, she is a shy girl at first but then gets crazy when she decides she likes you. I have 5 cats some like dogs and some tolerate them and just judge. I also have 2 goats in the backyard, they are very nice but will give a warning if something happens that they don't like. All my pets have vaccines and have been dewormed.
About: I grew up with an amazing Doberman and 3 wonderful Rottweilers so I love big dogs and have lots of experience working with them. My family had 2 cats and my favorite aunt has had many more throughout her lifetime that I always wanted to go play with. I have through the years also had fish, rabbits, and many friends and family who I've help care for their reptiles(turtles, lizards, snakes, birds) in addition to their fur babies. I'm trying to make animal care my full time job while everyone is at school, so I have all day to care for your pets and home during the week. My home has a very nervous shelter rescue dog so I cannot invite new dogs in, but I have house/pet sat for many friends and families through the years and always had happy results. I understand every animal has individual needs and I strive to accommodate that, along with always trying to leave a place as nice as if not better than I found it.
“Amanda was the perfect kitty sitter for our two cats. Ike needs transdermal thyroid medication every twelve hours, and our girl Tina is losing her appetite some days. Amanda always tried different foods and/or special treats to get her to eat. We really appreciated her efforts to do both foods, and medication, as our cats are just over 16 years old. She also very attentive with the cleanliness of the litter boxes and the area around. She vacuumed up the litter tracks and followed all instructions regarding feeding and clean up. She sent many pictures every day which eased our mind, and we will use her again. Our kitties loved her and even sat on her lap for cuddles and pets! She also was attentive keeping the three water fountains clean and fresh every day. She went above and beyond in every category!”
