Brittny was very attentive to our dogs' and happily indulged our "needy" one. She made a point to visit and learn about our babies before we left. Thank you for giving them play time and love during the day in our absence.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my entire life and have always loved caring for them. I currently have a 9-year-old cat and a 3-year-old dog, along with years of experience caring for friends’ cats. I’m especially comfortable with small dogs and cats and will treat your pets with the same patience, attention, and love I give my own. I’m happy to schedule a meet & greet beforehand so we can get to know each other and make sure your pet is comfortable with me. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands! I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to check in on your pets on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and weekends. I'm also available on evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I’m also a mom to a little one, so she’ll likely be joining me for drop-in visits. I’m happy to schedule a meet & greet beforehand so everyone can get comfortable with each other! I know how important it is to feel comfortable trusting someone with your pet and your home. I’ll treat both with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’ll follow your instructions closely, keep pets secure during walks and visits, and make sure they have everything they need before I leave. I’m happy to provide photos and updates throughout each visit.

Ann came to our rescue, and she must be a cat whisperer as she was able to get pics of our Fuzzball, who normally hides in the deepest corner when hearing an unfamiliar voice!

Rebecca is amazing! She took great care of both my dog and cat. All the instructions I provided were followed (even the quirky needs of my cat) and she maintained a consistent schedule for them while i was away. Both my pets warmed up to her early on and I can tell they felt taken care of and actually miss her. Rebecca went above and beyond by loving on my fur babies and even took care of extra things I did not even mention. Thank you Rebecca!

Alex has been absolutely amazing with our puppy, Millie. She is respectful, caring, patient, and genuinely attentive to all of Millie’s needs. As first-time puppy owners, it gives us so much peace of mind knowing Millie is in such great hands. Alex is incredibly easygoing, supportive, and flexible, making the whole experience stress-free. She keeps us updated throughout each visit with messages and adorable pictures, so we always know how Millie is doing. It’s clear that she truly cares about the animals she looks after, and we couldn’t ask for a better pet sitter. We highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, dependable, and compassionate to care for their pets!

Mell is amazing! She cared for our dog as if she was her own. Communication was excellent, she gave us great updates. She also sent us wonderful pictures that put our minds at ease especially because we never travel without our pug. Mell was prompt to every visit, we never had to worry about when or if our Pug was being taken care of. Our pug was super comfortable with Mell from day one. I highly recommend Mell, she is one in a million. Anyone that cares for our Pug as much as she has, has gained a lifetime friend in our family.

Victoria was amazing with our kitty while we were away for two weeks. Our cat is very social and loves affection so Victoria gave him lots of love and cuddles while we were away. I felt very comfortable leaving our cat in her care. She gave great updates for each visit and sent lots of pictures. She made sure his litter box was clean and his water fountain was full and fed him his wet food mix each day. I would definitely hire her again and refer friends and family!! Thank you Victoria!

He was very communicative, sent updates and photos, and executed all of Wallace’s needs without hesitation. We would definitely book with Ryan again!

About: Since I was a young girl, I have always been fascinated by animals—particularly dogs. I begged my parents to get me my first pet—Jasper, a rescued Labrador retriever—at age 7. Taking care of Jasper was my main focus as well the odd assortment of fish and hamsters we had. When Jasper passed, and I graduated high school, my next door neighbor had a litter of golden retriever puppies. I was ready to have another animal, and that’s when Kensie came into my life. Kensie was my soul dog, and she passed away two years ago. We did everything together—going to dog parks around town, Zilker park, and even red bud (before the algae), and going to dog-friendly establishments in Austin. She was my best friend. Unfortunately, her last few months on earth were extremely challenging. I was up with her three to four times a night (sometimes more), administering multiple medications, and helping her stand/walk. When the time came to say goodbye, I could barely make the decision to let her go. I miss her so much, but because of my current living situation, don’t have the opportunity to get another dog. That’s where Rover comes in. I love animals, and am extremely responsible when it comes to taking care of someone’s pet. This will give me my ‘fix’ and also be a productive side hustle for me. It will be an honor to walk//watch your pet. I will give the very care and concern I gave my own pets. Not only have I had my own pets, but I have experience with a variety of breeds—including catahoulas and boxers. As mentioned above, I have extensive experience working with senior dogs and administering medication. I’m currently in a transition phase in my life, and am looking for something productive and rewarding. I have pretty much limitless availability to cater to whatever your dog may need. At the moment, I can’t accept any dogs into my home, but if given the opportunity to stay at a client’s house, I would follow all instructions given while simultaneously respecting the space and showering your dog with love and attention.

Jackie is an awesome person and a wonderful dog sitter. We definitely plan on booking her again the future for our four dogs. She also brought delivered packages inside the house for us during our vacation and sent us pictures of the dogs every visit. It was a great experience, we felt comfortable leaving our fur-babies in Jackie's care, and we enjoyed our vacation worry-free. We highly recommend her to anyone searching for a pet sitter. Thank you Jackie!

I booked a girl by the name of Alicia. I chose her mainly for the cheaper price.DON’T DO THAT!!! Alicia cancelled at 7 PM before my 5 AM flight even though she sent me a text the day before confirming she would be at my house for a 7 PM meet and greet. Ugh! Panic!!! I was able to book Darla R and I didn’t even look at the price. It was almost double Alicia’s price. But did I ever hit the Jackpot with Darla R. She came over for a meet and greet within the hour. She worked her magic and calmed me down. It only took 2 minutes for me to feel completely comfortable with her. My dog is skittish with strangers, but Darla dropped to her knees and got down to Lyndsey’s level and I knew then that Lyndsey would be in great hands. She sent me more than one photo each day. Visit by visit those pictures showed me that Lyndsey was happier each visit. Lyndsey was smiling in photos because she was under the care of a compassionate, caring, expert dog whisperer. I enthusiastically recommend Darla R without reservations.

About: I've been around animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up on a farm, I was surrounded by all kinds of animals, so caring for them became second nature. My favorites have always been dogs and cats. We always seemed to have a new litter of kittens around, and I naturally became the one who spent the most time with them. Whether it was feeding them, playing with them, or helping them grow into confident, loving cats, I loved every minute of it. That lifelong experience has taught me that every pet has their own personality and needs. I provide patient, dependable care and treat every pet like they're part of my own family. Whether your pet is an energetic puppy, a playful kitten, or a senior who needs a little extra attention, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you're away. I do work full time; however, I have set days off. The hours I work are spread throughout the day, but with enough notice, I can plan accordingly. I am flexible. When your pet is in my care, I treat them like one of my own. Their safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, and active time. Whether that's going for walks, playing with their favorite toys, or simply spending quality time together. I'm attentive to all of their daily needs, including feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, exercise, and any special routines you have in place. I know pets feel most comfortable with consistency, so I'll do everything I can to help them feel safe and secure, especially in the place they know best. Their home. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pet is receiving the same care, affection, and respect that I would give my own.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Weir. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
