About: Hi there! I’m new to pet sitting on Rover, but I’ve been a lifelong dog lover! I’ve had my own Pomeranian names Simba for 10 years, so I know how special our furry friends are. Right now, I’m looking for a job, so I have lots of free time to give your pup the attention they deserve! I offer dog walking and daytime at-home sitting in Downtown and nearby areas, so your dog will have a buddy all day. I’m excited to meet your pup and keep them safe, happy, and active! Requested information about your pet I just ask to let me know in advance what NOT to do/say with your pet. For example, my Pomeranian gets crazy zoomies if you say ‘who’s there?’, he rushes to my front door, spins and bark and it till he will not get absolutely tired. I would also like to know all important details about your pet friendliness with other animals and humans, their health and of course your preferred Pet Hospital. I’m currently actively looking for a remote job in Tech so I have all the time in the world to spend quality time with you fluffy friend. As I have my own pup waiting for me at home, I am looking for more standard working hours I’m not able to host pets at my home, but I’m more than happy to stay at your place for multiple hours during the day. I’ll follow all your pet’s routines, instructions, and any safety measures you have in place. Just let me know your preferences, and I’ll make sure I follow them closely!

“Christine was so amazing with our cat Nova! She played with her, fed her, and made sure her water and litter box was taken care of. She even supported with clean up after Nova threw up a little bit from eating too quickly. Nova is usually a little feisty but by the end she warmed up to Christine. Additionally, Christine scheduled a meet & greet with Nova prior to us leaving for the weekend- which was so appreciated as we were able to meet her, let our cat meet her, and provide instructions and directions in person. She is clearly knowledgeable about animals and went above and beyond to ensure Nova was well taken care of. She sent pictures and a little summary after each visit. She was kind, caring, and friendly & we definitely will have her take care of Nova again in the future. Would definitely recommend Christine!”

“I booked Aleksandra for two drop ins. Arranging key drop off was easy. She followed directions well and made sure my auto cat feeders and fountain were working. She also gave my clingy elderly cat a cuddle! She even got an action shot of my skittish young cat, I didn’t expect her to even see him lol. Would book again.”

“As aways, Madelyn was great. She was super accommodating when my plans changed like 3 times unexpectedly. I appreciate her being able to work with me. Also, my cat really likes her!”

About: I’ve been a dog owner for many years and have three years of professional experience working at a dog daycare facility. In that role, I’ve been trained in pack walks, structured solo walks, enrichment activities, and a wide range of services related to daycare and overnight care. I’m committed to creating a safe, positive environment for both dogs and their owners. I’ve also been trained by professional dog trainers and earned in-house certifications in areas such as managing aggressive behavior, separation anxiety, canine behavior, and basic dog health and symptom recognition. Additionally, I have experience managing large groups of 10 or more dogs of varying sizes and breeds. I work with dogs every day and bring my own two, Lucky and Lainie, with me to work. While my schedule is consistent throughout the week, I’m able to offer some flexibility and I'm currently most available on Sundays and Mondays. At this time, I’m unable to host clients’ pets in my home or stay at their home. I hope to offer this options in the future and appreciate your understanding.
“Kaitlyn was extremely communicative, punctual, kind, good-humored, and got along very well with my cat. My cat seemed well cared for when I got back from my two week trip and everything was tidy and in its place. I would definitely hire her again and would recommend her to anyone. Thanks Kaitlyn!”

“Forever grateful to have Petunia as our regular sitter. I swear my little kittos are disappointed when I get home because they love her so much. The peace of mind we get from knowing our little cats are with her is priceless.”

“Ramisha took excellent care of my two cats while I was away. Being my first time using Rover, I was a bit anxious but she was very sweet and responsive and my cats warmed up to her very quickly! I would definitely recommend her for any pet needs and will be rebooking her for future needs. :)”

About: Hi, I'm Halle! I live in downtown SD with my roommate. We currently have a 20lb dog at home who I help take care of. I've had all kinds of pets growing up from rodents to birds! As a small woman, I prefer smaller dogs (under 40lb) that I can physically handle in case they are leash pullers. I am open to taking care of larger dogs if they are more mellow. I am very flexible when it comes to scheduling. I prefer to walk dogs in the downtown area since I live right here but will travel farther for a longer house sitting job. If housesitting, I can be with your pets most of the day. I recognize that every pet has different needs and personalities. I do my best to keep their routine consistent and familiar so they feel safe and calm while their family is away. I am open to accommodating whatever preferences you and your pet may have!
“Darya was wonderful! She responded right away and was able to come every day to check on, feed, and scoop the litterbox for my elderly Siamese cat. She sent adorable pictures and a daily status report. She is worth every penny for the peace of mind that allows you to enjoy your vacation instead of feeling guilty about leaving your angel on their own.”

About: I used to have a cat and a hamster and currently own a dog. I have personally trained him and he is now living with my family! I currently go to college in the morning so my availability will be the afternoons along with the weekends in the afternoon and night! I can do boarding on the weekends while caring during the afternoon on the week days! I enjoy playing or relaxing with your animal depending on what they like to do! For dogs, there is a pet relief area in my apartment building however if they are not comfortable with that and/or you have a senior dog, i do have fake grass on my patio right outside of my apartment!
About: We travel a lot, which excludes us from having a dog, but we'd love to have a dog! We just can't make it work with our schedule, but we'd love to be with your pet, just as we've taken care of others'. We have an enclosed balcony and a large park nearby along with full run of the indoor living areas, and one of us would be home at all times, so needy dogs are ok. We'll give him or her lots of love, walking, and greenery as he/she needs and you'd want. We've taken care of several friends' dogs and cats at their homes and ours and thought we'd expand the circle to include anyone else. The husband has had dogs in the past, so we're no strangers to the care required, whether that's particular food, medication, grooming, etc. Just let us know what your pet needs! Jerry is retired and Silke works part time Mon/Tue/Fri and Wednesday mornings but am typically off too when we watch a dog. We love taking your dog on walks, play and snuggle. When we watch a dog, we plan our day with your dog! We have a 2 story loft condo with a balcony. The condo is right next to Pantoja Park, easy for potty breaks. We love going on walks, play and snuggle and consider ourselves party aunt and uncle to the dog we watch, meaning we are very attentive and intuitive what your dog needs.
About: I have had many dogs and help take care of many dogs. I have never had a problem and dogs are always happy with me. Respectfully will only watch dogs that are friendly, loving, and not aggressive. I work full time from home so can be with your dog all day :) happy to walk them and play with them through out the day. They wouldn’t have to be locked up all day. I’ve had multiple dogs throughout life and currently have a rescue dog. She loves dogs and is very happy to make new friends. She will do great with your dog too

“Jarrod was awesome, he took care of my 19 year old sassy cat and gave her daily subcutaneous fluid injections. She’s not the most approachable cat but he was excellent with her. He was communicative, professional, and I felt very comfortable leaving her in his care. Will definitely book with him again!”

“Sarah was absolutely wonderful with our cat, Dexter! She was very attentive, kept us updated with amazing videos, and made sure Dexter had plenty of playtime and attention. It was clear she genuinely cared about him, and that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

About: I’ve always grown up around dogs. Growing up we had several black labs, and a golden retriever. I love animals and I have lots of experience with puppies. I’m an active person so taking your dog on a long walk is no problem for me! I’ve dog sat all kinds of dogs including a senior German shepherd for the last 8 years. I have a very flexible schedule that changes week to week. This means that when I’m watching your pet or walking your dog, my attention is able to be fully on them and I have availability throughout the week. I am very respectful of your space and treat it like it’s my own and try to leave it better than when I found it. That goes for your fur baby too!
About: I’ve had a beagle, shih-tzu, Maltese shitzu mix, and a pug (19 years of caring for dogs). Needless to say, they’re all very different personalities ranging from super affectionate to super independent (almost like a cat). Responsibilities including: vet visits, grooming appointments, bathing, walks at least twice a day, potty training, puppy care, etc. I’ve had friends leave dogs under my care for weeks at a time and seeing their excitement never gets old. I truly believe dogs are family members and should be treated as such. I’ve had dogs across all life stages and understand the complexity of navigating each dog’s nuances and idiosyncrasies. Also, I work in the behavioral health/sciences so I will make sure that we are on the same page regarding behavior management! I work full-time so 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday. I can provide care before 7:30am and/or after 5:30pm on weekdays. My weekends are free so I can provide as much as needed starting from 5:30pm on Friday to 7:30 am on Monday. I can crate your dog in your home if needed, but in the past I’ve dog sat within my friend’s homes of which the dogs were free to roam the house with occasional no furniture boundary. Can crate your dog within your home if preferred.
Horton Plaza pet parents share their Rover experiences
Latisha was amazing! She did a meet and greet with my cat and I that made me feel so at ease and comfortable leaving my cat in her care. She provided great updates and lots of photos and videos throughout my long vacation! Throughout my trip, I felt no anxiety at all regarding my pets care and knew that she was being well cared for. I will definitely rebook with Latisha when I go out of town next!! Thank you!!

I’m so sad that I just found Christine and I’m moving in a month. Have been searching for someone as sweet and caring as her for so long. She constantly updated me, and sent the cutest photos. Felt so relieved all week knowing that my little babies were in her hands. Can’t recommend her enough ❤️

We hired Alyssa for our two shy kitties pretty last minute for a two week trip out of the country. She did a phenomenal job keeping us updated with Rover Cards and reaching out if she needed anything, so we could really enjoy our trip. Our normally very shy cats warmed up to her really quickly, so it put us even more at ease. Would hire her again in a heartbeat!
