I'm not just a sitter, I'm a dog owner who actually understands what you're trusting someone with. And as a Great Dane owner, giant breeds and big personalities are my comfort zone. No size is going to phase me! I run my own creative business, so my schedule is genuinely flexible in a way that most sitters can't offer. No 9 to 5 I'm working around. I can typically accommodate drop ins and walks at times that actually work for you, not just whatever's left in my day. I'm the dog mom who leaves a five page document for my own sitters, so trust me, no request is too silly. Special feeding routine? About: Dogs have been part of my life since I was a child, and I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels for over 11 years. I was the proud owner of a special-needs senior dog who I cared for from the time I was 18 until he peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge, so I understand the patience, dedication, and unconditional love our pets deserve. I also regularly dog sit and have experience walking large breeds, handling excited or strong dogs on leash, and staying calm in stressful situations. Safety is always my top priority, whether we’re out for a walk or relaxing at home. My goal is for both you and your pup to feel completely comfortable and confident while you’re apart. I’m currently in school, so I appreciate the flexibility that pet sitting provides. Outside of occasional Monday and Wednesday mornings, my schedule is very open, and I’m happy to accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend visits. If you’re located in the downtown area, I’m especially available for drop-in visits, walks, feedings, or last-minute check-ins. Caring for animals has been part of my daily routine for over 10 years, so fitting pet care into my schedule comes naturally. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine will always be my top priorities. I understand how important consistency is, so I’ll follow your care instructions closely—from feeding schedules and medications to walks, playtime, and bedtime routines. I adopted my rescue dog years ago, and she became my best friend, companion, protector, and family. We shared life together. She taught me that trust comes first, that every one is different, and that patience, consistency, attention, and presence matter. When I first adopted her, I was told she didn't like affection or being held. What I learned was that she simply needed trust. Once she felt safe, she showed me who she really was. For house sitting, I typically spend 2–4 hours of dedicated time each day focused on walks, play, care, companionship, and routine activities, in addition to the time I am present in the home while working remotely. Depending on the arrangement, I may be away for periods during the day, but I remain available for check-ins, walks, feeding, and care. For house sitting, I am generally available for short-term and extended stays ranging from a few days to four weeks. My only regularly scheduled personal commitment is on Tuesdays, though longer stays can be planned around that with advance notice. I care for companions in their own environment where they are most comfortable and familiar. I understand that trust, routine, consistency, and attention are important. I take the time to learn their schedule, habits, personality, comfort level, and any special needs so I can maintain the routines that help them feel secure. I believe trust is earned through patience, respect, and reliable care. Some want attention immediately. Others need time and space first. “Jarrod is amazing! I was very nervous before meeting him about how my two dogs would react to a stranger watching them and taking them out on walks. But, as soon as I met him, I felt so much more at ease because he jumped right in and helped my dogs feel comfortable. One of my dogs can be reactive especially in our apartment elevator so I did not want to let just anyone watch him, I needed to make sure it was someone who really knew what they were doing and how to handle it. About: Hi, I'm Halle! I live in downtown SD with my roommate. We currently have a 20lb dog at home who I help take care of. My mom used to breed dogs so I am familiar with puppies as well. I've had all kinds of pets growing up from rodents to birds! As a small woman, I prefer small to medium sized dogs (under 50lbs) that I can physically handle in case they are leash pullers. I am happy to take care of larger dogs if they are more mellow. I am very flexible when it comes to scheduling. If housesitting, I can be with your pet for most of the day. I am happy to accommodate tourists who need a hotel sitter. Every pet has different needs and personalities.
