“We absolutely love Andrea. She's been taking care of my puppy since he was 8 weeks old. I was so nervous about going back to the office and work with a young pup at home. I immediately felt better knowing he'd have someone to check in on him! I appreciate how flexible she is with my changing schedule. I am so happy to have her as part of our care team for our dogs!”

“Heather, did a great job caring for my cat. She even brought a laser pointer to engage my cat in play and make her more comfortable. I highly recommend Heather and look forward to hiring her again in the future.”

“Alexandria was awesome! She is a good communicator, and made a connection with my birds that other pet sitters were not able to do. My birds even cooperated with her to go to bed! I will call on Alexandria the next time I'm needing a pet sitter.”

“We have used help from Vai and Adam multiple times for our two cats and they are amazing! Always punctual and prompt about giving us updates on how the cats are doing. I highly recommend them!”

About: Hi there! I am someone who genuinely loves animals and understands how important it is to find a sitter you can fully trust with your pet. Pets are part of our family! I approach pet sitting with patience, consistency, and communication with owners. I adapt my care style to match every pets personality and energy. I am comfortable working with younger pets who need calm guidance and stimulation as well as older seniors who may need a slower pace, extra patience, medication and low stress environment. I know trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, I aim to provide the same level of care and attention I would want for my own animals! I have a very open and flexible schedule! You can highly expect me to accept times and dates requested through the app. I expect my schedule to stay this consistent for at least the next 4-5 months. I currently have 2 cats at home and would not be able to take in pets but am more than willing to drive to take care of pets in the comfort of their own home! I take time to understand each pets needs, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, etc. I aim to create a low-stress, caring environment while treating your home with respect and keeping you updated with regular messages and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away.
About: I grew up in a household with lots of animals. I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, chinchillas, hamsters, bearded dragons & many more! I can walk, administering medicine & give really good pets. I am currently working part time so I have the time to check in every 4 hours or so. I am happy to do what makes animal and owner happy. I am a clean, gentle person. I pick up after myself, and any messes animals make. Animals in my care will be loved as my own, and taken care of as such.
“A last minute request after our original sitter fell through, Allison made time for a meet and greet and made extra effort during the drop in to ensure our kitty was safe and taken care of. Great communication during the visit. Will definitely use services again for future trips!”

“We have never left our dogs alone and they seemed to be extremely stressed based on the mess that they left. Estrella did an amazing job caring for them and cleaning up. She exceeded my expectations and did an amazing job!”

About: I love animals and currently have one 40lb pit terrier mix. My family is easy going on pet rules and treat animals as members of the family (no feeding from the table). We live in a pet friendly community with good lighting and many dog potty break stops and stations. Our house is 2 stories with space to put a crate in a secluded place for dogs who need quiet time. On weekends I would love to take them to dog parks (if they are comfortable with that) or on hikes (if they are people friendly). My husband (Gabe) is a stay at home parent and I work 4 days a week, we will be available for your animal's needs. Plus I love to take and send photos!
About: I recently pet sit my coworker's great dane for about a week. She is a therapy dog and I had fun doing it! Took her on walks and made sure to follow up on feeding and potty breaks. My siblings also have their own pets and I love to spend time with them. I work part time and tend to be free most Sundays and Mondays. I also work from home Wednesdays and Fridays. Happy to do some pet sitting or walks! Would love to find pets who need walking to keep up with my daily step goals ☺️ I can crate your pet if needed. I tend to care for pets in the places they feel most safe and comfortable. If they have specific routines, even better!
“Emily took great care of our cats and chickens! Our cats are 18 years old and require medications twice a day. She sent notes (via Rover cards) after every visit and also sent us many photos. This gave us such peace of mind and heart. Thank you, Emily!”

“Eliza did an amazing job watching our pups! She kept us updated and informed regularly throughout the weekend, did a great job keeping our pups loved and cared for, and was flexible and helpful in accommodating our plans. Definitely would recommend!”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life (18 years!), so being around animals just comes naturally to me. I’ve cared for all kinds of pets—from chihuahuas and shitzus to corgis, huskies, Australian cattle dogs, bullies, and cats—so I’m comfortable with different personalities and energy levels. I love to keep up with high energy dogs who love to endlessly play, while I'm also just as patient and gentle with dogs who just want to sit back and relax! I have experience with senior dogs so I understand the extra attention and care they need. I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away! I’m a high school student with a pretty flexible schedule, so I have lots of free time to dedicate to pet care. Since I already love going on walks, taking dogs out for exercise and fresh air fits perfectly into my daily routine. Pet care is something I naturally make time for—I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, whether that’s going on walks, playing, or just keeping them company. I’m reliable and happy to adjust my schedule to make sure each pet gets the attention and care they need. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my main priority is keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all instructions closely—feeding schedules, walk times, medications, and any specific preferences—so pets feel comfortable in their own environment. I’m very mindful of safety, making sure doors, gates, and leashes are always secure, and I keep a close eye on pets during walks and playtime. I also pay attention to their behavior and mood so I can respond quickly if anything seems off. I treat every home with respect and keep things clean and organized while I’m there. I also like to send updates and photos so owners can feel confident and at ease knowing their pets are safe, happy, and well cared for.
“Adara was right on time and gave her full attention to my pups. She was respectful of our property and did all she could to make them comfortable. We also had a good "meet and greet" a few days before her visit with them. All went really well and I'd recommend Adara as a reliable pet sitter. I don't need help often but when I do will call on her again.”

About: I have over 12 years of personal pet care experience from growing up with and caring for my own pets. As a full-time physical therapy student, I’m highly responsible, detail-oriented, and compassionate. I’ve cared for my own pets for years, including senior animals, and I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, grooming, and medication routines. My background gives me a special sensitivity to mobility and health needs, making me a calm, attentive sitter who treats pets like family. I’m currently a full time graduate student. As of right now, I am off for the summer and am available during most weekdays and weekends until the beginning of August 2026. I enjoy spending my free time staying active and caring for animals, so pet sitting is a natural and rewarding part of my weekend! I provide care in the client’s home to ensure pets stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I follow their usual routines for feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions like medications or crate time. I always aim to keep pets happy, safe, and stress free while their owners are away.

Ash was AMAZING!!! She lovingly cared for our persnickety cat as if he were her cherished companion! Extra cuddles and window time when he wanted desperately to go outside 😸 Sweet and funny daily reports and photos on her visits made our day! She gave us comfort knowing he was well cared for!! Thank you, Ash! We highly recommend Ash!!

Caitlin was so fabulous with our little Piper. Piper spent the first 18 months of her life in and out of shelters and foster homes so she’s extra skittish. Caitlin was so kind, calm, and gentle and earned Piper’s trust within the first few drop ins. We’re so sad that Caitlin is moving out of the area but we’re grateful for the love and care she gave Piper and know she will be a great match with pets in her new area.

Our cat, Mittens, walked into our lives two months ago. She was a stray and her personality has proven to be difficult for all who know her. She has two modes, friendly and cuddly or violent. After scratching our nine year old neighbor who was trying to watch her while we were out of town as well as an adult neighbor who was also trying to help, I contacted Andrew to see if he could take over. Andrew was able to understand our complicated kitty and did a great job caring for her while we were gone. Mittens adored her time with Andrew, and minimized her attacks under his care. He spent time getting to know her and playing with her. He brought toys and cuddles. He offered helpful tips and resources for taming our spicy feline. I hope that Andrew is available when we next go out of town. I also hope that our spicy stray calms down. Thank you Andrew for making our time away one thousand times less stressful.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
