I am always happy to hire Geoffrey for a walk around the neighborhood! He makes sure to give my dog some extra pats and check his water while I'm at work and I love getting the photo updates too.

Lucy was amazing! We used Lucy to walk our dog midday when our friend was unable to come let her out during a work trip. Lucy and River had so much fun! Lucy was attentive, had great communication, and was on time every day. We will definitely use Lucy again! Thanks again Lucy! :)

We feel so lucky to have snagged Karein! She is SO loving with my dog - absolutely treats her like her own. I know Finn is in very safe and happy hands whenever Karein walks her (weekly!) and I so appreciate how Karein is willing to adventure with Finn. I definitely recommend her!!

About: Along with growing up with two dogs and helping to raise a puppy as a teenager, family friends and neighbors have relied on me to take care of their dogs and cats since I was ten. I've worked with all types of dogs, from Shih Tzus to Pit Bull mixes. I'm the one in my family who takes the dogs out on long hikes (or for short walks around the block once they get older), brushes their teeth and fur, gives them baths, and trims their nails. I'm a regular volunteer at cat shelters in cat care, and as a student on the pre-veterinary track, I have shadowed and volunteered at vet clinics to better understand the care that goes into your pets' health. Besides dogs and cats, I also have experience with a myriad of animals, such as hamsters, rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, mice, fish, hermit crabs, geckos, snakes, tortoises, and turtles. I have experience in preparing special diets for pets and other animals with specific health needs, and in senior dog care. Over the summer, I work at my internships in animal care for much of the work day, but that leaves afternoons, evenings, and early mornings for me to check in on your pets and give any care they need (breakfast/dinner, walks, baths, etc.). Over the school year, I will have more hours available to fit in more time with your pets (i.e. walking and bathing/grooming, more playtime, etc.). As a lover of all creatures, I take the safety of both pets and wildlife seriously. As such, I will always supervise pets that are outside in yards and keep them on leashes outside fenced-off areas so they are not a danger to others or themselves. If transporting pets in my car, I will keep them safe and secure in a carrier/crate. As a college student who has shared living spaces with new people before, I understand the importance of respecting others' belongings and boundaries. During drop-in visits, I will be sure to respect your home and any rules you may have for your comfort (i.e. no shoes in the house, specific dishes/silverware for pets only, general cleanliness, etc.).

Jon is responsive, reliable, kind, and professional. He is great about letting us know when he’s on his way, his ETA, and then gives us a heads up before he knocks on the door. My dog is extremely anxious, and this has been challenging; Jon has been so accommodating, open to trying anything to get her to trust him, and clearly cares about her.

About: I've been a dog sitter for over a decade, on top of having my own pets as well. I've watched dogs as small as shih tzus and yorkies, to dogs as big pit bulls and labs. I am pretty active and love to go on walks, and would love to bring your dog with me! I currently work from home, so I have lots of flexibility throughout the day to help take care of your pets! I am available for daytime walks or check-ins almost everyday, and available to house sit any time as long as you reach out in advance! I have house-sat for friends and family for over 10+ years, and feel very comfortable saying that I have always been a clean, respectful house guest. I am a non-smoker; and I would prioritize your comfort and privacy while staying in your home, ensuring your pet is well cared for when I am there.

Helena was wonderful with my older pooch. She sat with him and took him on a walk in the neighborhood to his favorite place, the mechanic's, where they gave him his usual cookie. Then she figured out a new game to keep him happy in the backyard: She would hide little pieces of kibble and let him sniff them out. I was 100% delighted with Helena's dog care, and will look forward to hiring her again soon!

About: With the stress of medical school, there's nothing quite like a furry face to cheer me up! I grew up with dogs and cats, and have my tuxedo cat Jamie Bond here with me in Philadelphia. In my hometown of Boston, I looked after many friends' cats and dogs and just love hanging out with animals! As a medical student, I have a fairly flexible schedule during the day because most lectures are not mandatory. I also have lots of availability in the evenings and on the weekends. Safety and care are my top priority. I strive to meet the needs of your pet and make sure that they are happy, healthy, and safe.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hanscom Air Force Base. On Rover:

  • 90% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
