“Booked super last minute due to unexpected emergency, and she was AMAZING! Went above and beyond to take care of my little babies, cannot recommend enough. So communicative and took such great care of them (even though they’re so shy)”

“Angela took great care of our dog during a weekend away. She is an excellent communicator and sent lots of pictures too keep us posted of drop ins and walks. Would definitely ask her to help us out next time we need to go out of town.”

About: I adopted my first dog in second grade. He was my responsibility and as I got older, I learned that I loved going for walks outside as much as my dog. Now that I'm older, I love taking friends' dogs for hikes in new locations. I have even managed to train one of my friend's reactive dog so she pulls on the leash less. I also briefly fostered animals when I was in graduate school. I am a teacher on summer break, so I have plenty of hours to devote to your pet and look forward to enjoying plenty of summer outside time with your dog. I have walked a wide range of dogs, including a couple of reactive pit bull mixes. I have experienced triggering situations with dogs and know how to either handle them or avoid them.
About: I have a gold retriever and I do know how difficult to leave them when you have to go. I’ll take care them like they are home. I’m full time mom, and my pup can play with your pup to make sure they won’t be alone. I’m full time mom and always home. Feel free to let me know if there’s any specific needs. So I can stay with your baby all the time to give them cuddles & play. I only accept a pup boarding at my house except you have 2 pups at the same time. My kids are pet lover too. They are more than happy to sleep with your baby if it’s needed.
“longfei and Luning are so helpful taking care my cat. Everything is done professionally and friendly. Most importantly, she seems to be happy. Will definitely recommend!”

“Thank you, Kyle, for the wonderful care you provided to Chloe. And thank you for accommodating our request to adjust the arrival time. We look forward to our next drop in visit and I'm sure Chloe will be thrilled to see you.”

“Danielle looked after our two kitties while we were out of town for the week and she was great! She was very responsive and flexible in scheduling a time to meet us before we left. She kept us informed daily and sent lots of pictures each day!”

About: I am Fear Free Certified which is a training for preventing and alleviating fear, anxiety, and stress during pet caretaking. I’ve been around dogs since I was little and grew up training and taking care of my pet labradoodle. I’ve volunteered at a cat shelter for 2.5 years and am a facility manager for the shelter so I have experience with animals of all types of personalities. I also have two cats that I adopted from the shelter I volunteer at. I am a biomedical engineer so I work from 9-5 Monday- Friday. I’m happy to stop by to give your pets some love before and/or after work Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. I typically do pottery on Wednesdays but can be flexible if needed on that day! Thursday nights I volunteer at the cat shelter until around 7:30PM so late night visits might be possible. I am available most weekends as long as I have enough of a heads up! I know some nice walking trails around Waltham and would be happy to take your dog on walks around there or throughout your neighborhood. I also am comfortable with just giving pets attention and care such as food, brushing, play, and scooping cat litter within your home depending on your needs and wants.

“Took really good care of my fur babies and was conscientious and tidy in my apartment. Loved the updates and photos! I will definitely re-book and it made me very comfortable in a stressful work event that I knew my cats were taken care of, especially my newly diabetic cat!”

About: I worked as a veterinary technician for 2 years in NY and interned at the Staten Island Zoo for 3 years while studying in college. I’m currently working night shift (6pm-6am) on a rotating schedule. Because I work 12hr shifts I have extra days off to check in on your animal while you are away. I am attentive to your dog’s needs and encourage direction or feedback of how to care for your dog. Whether I’m needed for a long walk or to house sit while you’re away, I’ll make sure your dog feels in good hands. I’m also more than happy to send updated pictures of your dog so you don’t miss them too much.

“Rose was wonderful with our two guinea pigs! She was reliable, caring, and always addressed any concerns I had right away. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Sarah was wonderful with my pup Penny! Penny is used to pretty much always being by my side, and she was (unexpectedly) scared when I wasn't there. Sarah and her son took the time to coax Penny out from the under the bed and made her comfortable for future stop ins. As a pet parent, I felt much better knowing that my dog was both happier and in great hands! A very positive experience!”

About: I always love walking my dog and my friends dogs and I am very reliable and genuinely care. While I’m walking a dog I carry poop baggies, water and a water bowl, and a ball/toys. I’m open a flexible to accommodate whatever your dog needs. I also of course am well versed in dog language so I’m able to know what your dog is trying to tell me. (I also know that the rates are high so I’m always willing to negotiate if you don’t want to pay the exact set price 😁.) I’m excited to care for your dog! I’m very flexible with time. Right now I’m not at university, so I have a lot of free time to walk dogs. My main job on week days has been dog walking. I have a nice big fenced in backyard and a big house. And of course I have all the essentials for dog care like food, poop baggies, toys, and lots of dog love.
“I have a 2.5 year old energetic lab mix and Neeka takes the best care of him! I trust her to come to my apartment let herself in to feed/walk Chase while I’m on short trips. I know Chase is more comfortable staying at home than a kennel and I know Chase will be well taken care of! Look no further if you are in need of pet care :)”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hanscom Air Force Base
Karein is great! Our cat Big Guy, does not like people. Over the 2 weeks we were away, she got him to come out of his shell and let her pet him. It was a great experience to know Big Guy was in good hands while we were away. She even got him playing with some toys… and his name is Big Guy for a reason! 😸

Briana was great! Went above and beyond. Took great care of our cat and house. Brought in all our packages and provided great photos and report cards. She even walked to our house during a snowstorm when the roads weren’t plowed to make sure our cat got fed and cuddles. Would definitely use her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hanscom Air Force Base. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
