Tom did a great job with our dogs. Our youngest pup can be tricky at times and he warmed right up to Tom. He took great care of both dogs and our home.

Above and Beyond Karein immediately earned our trust as our two dogs bonded with her on a first visit. She kept us informed of their well-being every step of the way, including caring for a tummy upset and introducing them to new friends on a walk. A hidden treasure: the house was more beautiful when we returned than when we left -- of note: a meticulously organized refrigerator!! My instinct, having read other reviews, was to contact Karein immediately, and we're so glad we did. Highly recommend her, and only wish we had the budget to make her a regular weekly dog walker and a steady housesitter/dogsitter!! Thank you Karein, and thanks Rover for an excellent experience!

I hesitate to write this review not because James isn’t the absolute DREAM sitter (spoiler alert, he is) but because I’m worried when I tell you all how fantastic he is, he will be too busy for us to book him again! James has an incredible connection with animals. Our dog is very particular and honestly dislikes most people upon first meeting them but he took to James right away. James spoiled him in the best ways while we were out of town and truly treated him like he was his own. We got the most darling photo and videos updates as well as detailed texts. On top of that, we were so comfortable having him stay at our home. He was respectful and thoughtful and went above and beyond to leave our place somehow even better than we left it. James you are a treasure, Thank you thank you!

Nicole B. was wonderful with my cockpoo, Gracie! She was in frequent contact and sent many photos. Gracie wants to snuggle all the time, and she got constant snuggling with Nicole. She slept over for several nights and you wouldn't even know she had visited, everything was so tidy when I returned. When Nicole came back to drop off my keys, Gracie was so happy to see her. I would highly recommend Nicole!

Lindsay took such great care of my cat Naomi! She was extremely professional and responsive, and she was so helpful even with some very last minute changes/housesitting needs that I was stressing over. Also had no trouble administering Naomi’s medication and was so attentive to her daily routine. I really appreciated all the detailed updates and cat pics!! I would happily have her catsit for us again :)

Nikki is a miracle worker and total lifesaver!! We needed to find someone new for a full weeklong trip over thanksgiving, and we are so grateful to have found Nikki. From the first meet she was so sweet with our dogs and the bond they all formed during her stay is so special. Nikki adapted to each of their needs and won them over!! She was so attentive to my senior pups and how they managed the cold and rainy weather. She also went above and beyond to take care of our home, offering to bring in our outdoor furniture when the weather looked bad. And if all of that wasn’t enough, when our flights were cancelled and delayed a day she was able to stay an extra day relieving a ton of stress for us and the dogs. When we came home our house was cleaner than how we left it. So there’s just not enough words to say how amazing Nikki is!! She cared for our dogs and our home as though they were her own, and I know she’d do the same for anyone. We are repeat customers for life!!

Andrew has taken care of Bernie many times for us. We know we can count on him

About: I’ve had cats since I was 8 years old. With the 16 years of experience with cats, I believe every fur baby needs a home away from home. Like with every pet parent, I strive for the best with my cat. If you choose me to watch your fur baby, I will provide the best and safest environment for them. Do they need a room to themselves? You got it. Has explosive diarrhea? I have cleaning supplies. Medical issues? Another way to keep me on my toes. I hope you consider me as a prospective aunt to your kitter cat or doggo and can’t wait to fill up my camera role with adorable pictures. I look forward to hearing from you 💕 I am a grad student at Brandeis University. My classes are usually over by 2 pm, so after then I’m usually at my apartment caring for my cat and completing schoolwork. So needless to say, I have a lot of flexibility within my schedule for your pets individual needs. If I am doing home visits, I would like to visit the clients home a day or two prior to the arranged visit(s) to understand the animals needs and to see if we would be a good fit. I believe it is important to establish an understanding with the animal in question before I frequent the premises so there isn’t any unnecessary stress for your pet. In regards to boarding, I have a medium sized apartment that would be good for any cat or small-medium dog. There are multiple grassy areas for bathroom breaks and walks around the premises. You will have to provide me with your animals usual schedule (times for bathroom breaks, when and how much time are committed to walks, feeding times, etc.) so I can build my set around them and their needs

I felt very comfortable having Sheylah live in our home while looking after our doggy. If we have the opportunity again to get away, Sheylah will be the first call I make.

Finley stayed at our home and took great care of our Great Dane while we were away. We were sent regular updates and photos during their time together. And, without being asked Finley even washed the sheets, towels, and kitchenware before leaving the house. He will definitely be at the top of our Rover list next time we need a sitter.

Christy recently dog sat at our home for a week for our 7 year old mini doodle and we could not recommend her highly enough! She was reliable, communicative, responsive, great at expectation setting and clearly someone who genuinely loves caring for and spending time with pets. We knew our dog was in great hands with her and getting lots of love and attention. She even came to our home an extra time before our trip, to make sure our dog got to know and trust her. We would highly recommend her to anyone and would enthusiastically rebook with her in the future. Thank you, Christy!

About: have taken care of dogs since I was 9 years old. My family has two large labs (13 years old and 6 years old) that I helped train since they were puppies. I often watch them for my parents when they go on vacation, so I am very comfortable with overnight care and love taking my pups for long walks. I also had a cat for 3 years in college. I love spending time with all animals!! I graduated college in May and am currently living at home with my family. My days are filled with applying for jobs, going to the gym, making sourdough bread, spending time outdoors, and caring for my dogs. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time to walks, playtime, and giving pets the attention and companionship they need. I do not offer care in my own home because I want to keep my dogs’ environment comfortable and stress-free. However, I am happy to provide care in your home, where your pet will feel most secure and comfortable. I have a spacious SUV equipped with dog beds and a ramp for my older dog, allowing me to safely transport pets for walks when needed. My priority is always making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away.

Christy is a thoughtful, conscientious and caring dog sitter and just an all-around lovely person. She was very thorough during our meet and greet in terms of getting to know Rosie, the ins and outs of our house, and instructions. She went above and beyond, picking Rosie up from a friend's house at the beginning of the week and giving her a bath before we returned home. We look forward to booking with Christy again!

Jess took such good care of our little Toby that we didn’t have to worry at all during our week long vacation. She even shoveled when it snowed, without our asking — and took Toby on a field trip to Petsmart to try on harnesses. Jess feels more like a dog nanny than a dog babysitter. Can’t thank her enough!

This was our first time booking with Sawyer, and everything was wonderful. We were away for a week and needed overnight care and daytime company for our Abyssinian, Freya, who doesn’t like being alone for long stretches. Sawyer did three feedings a day, kept her litter box and dishes clean, and made sure she got plenty of playtime and attention. He also stopped by beforehand to meet us and Freya, and it was obvious right away that she was comfortable with him—which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Throughout the week Sawyer was great at communicating and sent daily updates. We came home to a spotless house and a very happy cat. We can’t recommend Sawyer highly enough and will absolutely book him again for our next trip.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Hanscom Air Force Base on Rover is $42.53 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 6,648 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hanscom Air Force Base. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hanscom Air Force Base walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hanscom Air Force Base maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hanscom Air Force Base choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hanscom Air Force Base. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
