“Finley stayed at our home and took great care of our Great Dane while we were away. We were sent regular updates and photos during their time together. And, without being asked Finley even washed the sheets, towels, and kitchenware before leaving the house. He will definitely be at the top of our Rover list next time we need a sitter.”

“Karein was awesome! She communicated well and took great care of our dogs and house while we were away. One of our dogs has behavioral/medical needs and Karein did a great job managing her needs. We will definitely look forward to having Karein dog sit for us again.”

“Liz was amazing with our two dogs (who have totally different personalities and ages)! She genuinely cares about their well being and how to best take care of their needs. She quickly gained their trust, which is not easy with either of our dogs, as both have some anxiety with meeting new people. On top of that, she took great care of our house too! We are already booking her for more overnight stays. We’re so excited to have found someone who we can trust our pups and house too for short and extended stays!”

“Eric is super reliable. He shows up on time and he is very gentle with my anxious dog, Boo. She takes time to become comfortable with new people, and she is off to a good start with Eric.”

“Omar was wonderful with Cash. He is a GREAT communicator and attentive to Cash. He provided multiple daily updates, photos, and videos which I greatly appreciated. Daily walks, lots of pets for Cash, and attention. The house was in great shape coming home and well taken care of. I highly recommend Omar, he did a great job while I was on a 5 night trip. We will definitely reach back out for more house sitting!”

“If I could give Tom 100 stars, I would. He truly went above and beyond in caring for our dogs. From the moment we left, we received continuous updates and photos which gave me complete peace of mind. He didn't just cover the basics, he showered them with so much genuine love, care, and attention. The real proof was in our dogs' behavior they were actually sad when he left! It is so rare to find someone who connects with your babies like this. I cannot recommend him highly enough.”

“Nicole helped me out in a big way while I was away at a wedding! I got adorable pictures of my pup and was very happy to hear she took the time to let her warm up. Will definitely rebook with Nicole again, highly recommend!”

About: I've loved and cared for dogs and cats my entire life! I walked dogs professionally in New York City and now call the Boston Area home. My schedule is flexible as I work from home and would love to take care of your pet any time of day. People often are surprised when their timid pup warms up to me right away; they can sense my friendly attitude. I've walked dogs large and small for short treks and long hikes. I'm great at handling the big ones and I'm always careful not to overexert the little ones. I also have experience house sitting for both cats and dogs; I'm an attentive sitter, willing to play with your pup and take him or her out for potty breaks as often as necessary. I hope you'll consider me as your walker or sitter, and I look forward to meeting your furbaby! I work flexible hours from home, so I can accommodate most schedules from midday walks to longer house sits. I can also do drop-ins before or after work. I am happy to follow any and all house rules to keep your pet happy and safe. I treat others' homes like my own and am happy to work from your home to spend more time with your pet.
“We were so happy to have Devika stay in our home with our dog Lucy while we attended a wedding! Devika was very responsive and sent lots of photos of Lucy which I appreciated. She was available on short notice and left our house in great shape. Thank you Devika!!”

“Laura was amazing with our 17-month-old Samoyed. Casper can be anxious but when I got home I could tell he had bonded with Laura. She gave him lots of love and walks during the day! Highly recommend!”

“Jasmine dogsat for us while we were away for 10 days, and she was fantastic with our pup. We got plenty of cute pictures and videos and could tell our dog was having a great time and receiving excellent care. Jasmine was also very respectful of our home and left everything in great shape. We'll definitely hire Jasmine again next time we need a sitter!”

“Traci did an AMAZING job with our elderly girl. She left the house neat and our girl was happy. My family feels much more comfortable going away knowing Traci will be there to watch our girl.”

“David’s care for Wags was exceptional. Wags had an infection post surgery making the stay more complex but David was so conscientious and thoughtful in paying attention to both the dogs’ physical and emotional needs. He gave me regular updates with pictures and videos and it was clear how attentive and loving he was to Wags. Wags was so content and I was so relaxed on the trip knowing he was being so well cared for. He really went above and beyond my expectations especially in terms of being so careful with attending to Wags’ injury and keeping him safe while still providing him with the mental stimulation he needed. I am so grateful to David!”

“Asia took wonderful care of my Yorkie over the course of two days this week. She is friendly, diligent, professional, communicative, and very kind. Your pet could not possibly be in a better hands. She has a great love for animals and it shows in her work.”

“Susie was a phenomenal cat sitter - she was attentive to all of Mocha's needs and was playful and comforting to her throughout the visit. The frequent photos and updates were so appreciated. Mocha got along with her immediately and had a wonderful time while I was away. I'd recommend Susie to anyone looking for a pet sitter! Thank you so much for taking care of Mocha on short notice and for treating her so well!”

Christy recently dog sat at our home for a week for our 7 year old mini doodle and we could not recommend her highly enough! She was reliable, communicative, responsive, great at expectation setting and clearly someone who genuinely loves caring for and spending time with pets. We knew our dog was in great hands with her and getting lots of love and attention. She even came to our home an extra time before our trip, to make sure our dog got to know and trust her. We would highly recommend her to anyone and would enthusiastically rebook with her in the future. Thank you, Christy!

Jess took such good care of our little Toby that we didn’t have to worry at all during our week long vacation. She even shoveled when it snowed, without our asking — and took Toby on a field trip to Petsmart to try on harnesses. Jess feels more like a dog nanny than a dog babysitter. Can’t thank her enough!

This was our first time booking with Sawyer, and everything was wonderful. We were away for a week and needed overnight care and daytime company for our Abyssinian, Freya, who doesn’t like being alone for long stretches. Sawyer did three feedings a day, kept her litter box and dishes clean, and made sure she got plenty of playtime and attention. He also stopped by beforehand to meet us and Freya, and it was obvious right away that she was comfortable with him—which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Throughout the week Sawyer was great at communicating and sent daily updates. We came home to a spotless house and a very happy cat. We can’t recommend Sawyer highly enough and will absolutely book him again for our next trip.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hanscom Air Force Base on Rover is $42.53 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,709 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hanscom Air Force Base. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hanscom Air Force Base walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hanscom Air Force Base maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hanscom Air Force Base choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hanscom Air Force Base. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
