“I hesitate to write this review not because James isn’t the absolute DREAM sitter (spoiler alert, he is) but because I’m worried when I tell you all how fantastic he is, he will be too busy for us to book him again! James has an incredible connection with animals. Our dog is very particular and honestly dislikes most people upon first meeting them but he took to James right away. James spoiled him in the best ways while we were out of town and truly treated him like he was his own. We got the most darling photo and videos updates as well as detailed texts. On top of that, we were so comfortable having him stay at our home. He was respectful and thoughtful and went above and beyond to leave our place somehow even better than we left it. I can accommodate dog walks best between 9-1pm on weekdays while my young kids are in school. I have a fenced in yard and wide open space behind my property which connects to endless trails. About: I have taken care of dogs and cats of every kind since I was 10. I dog-sit and cat-sit, and I have even bird-sat before. I have shadowed dog trainers and aided with behavioral therapy dog certification tests, and I volunteer at Best Friends shelter for dog walking. I am very adaptable to what works for each dog, because I know everyone has individual needs! I won't tire or get short with a puppy, and I can just provide companionship and support to senior dogs :) I know how to read a situation and how to avoid a stressful or potentially volatile situation with another dog, and as such, I will act accordingly because nothing is more important than keeping you pet safe and happy! For the background of my pet experience, in my parents' home, which I grew up in, all our pets (2 cats and a dog) have their own beds on the floor next to mine, as well as one or two others in the living room, basement, etc., so they can always hang out with us. We have a yard where they go out and play in or get sun, and take them on walks on the daily. For my cats we have 2 cat trees, and it turns out they prefer window sills and beds anyway, so we leave blankets out for them. We feed them 2x a day with wet and dry food, and will give dental bones to our dog and treats usually daily. In your home, I wil respect all your house and pet rules, treat your things and pets with respect, and give them love and attention until you return home! Pets are what brighten my day. When I come home from school, the first thing I do is greet them, and when they greet me with a smile on their face and their tails wagging, I forget the stress of the day. They make my whole life better. I try to dogwalk at the local shelter on weekends, and say hi to any and all dogs I meet (obviously checking in with the owners first) I currently live in an apartment with a roommate; however, she will never be left alone or in any way in charge of caring for your pet. I will never leave your pet alone with her or anyone else for the duration of their stay with me. They will be given treats and food as you dictate, and they will be loved, cuddled, walked, and treated as the King or Queen of the house. I promise to cherish your pet as if they were my own, because I know (and I am of the opinion of this too!) they are more than pets, they are family.
About: I’ve had dogs ever since I was in preschool. They’re my favorite furry buddies in the whole world! I have experience caring for my dogs, not only providing them love but attention as well. One of my dogs had diabetes and needed daily insulin shots and to be let outside regularly. My care of him gave me some additional caretaker skills! Sarah took wonderful care of our 9-year-old Sheltie for three nights. He isn't the easiest dog to care for—he's on a special diet, takes several medications and supplements, and has arthritis, which makes stairs and long walks difficult. Sarah handled all of his needs with patience, kindness, and attention to detail. To make things even more challenging, our dog can be a bit standoffish with new people. Sarah was incredibly sweet and patient with him, and before long she had completely won him over. It gave us great peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands.
