“Karein is the best! She has a wonderful way with animals and bonded quickly with our six year old Berner, Ruby. She was extremely thorough and we felt so good the whole time we were away knowing Ruby was being taken on exciting adventures (she has a few dogs she walks regularly so Ruby joined the pack (voluntarily and with our permission!)) and our house was spotless when we came home. We would absolutely work with her again - so lucky to have found her. Thank you so much, Karein!!”

“Liz was amazing with our two dogs (who have totally different personalities and ages)! She genuinely cares about their well being and how to best take care of their needs. She quickly gained their trust, which is not easy with either of our dogs, as both have some anxiety with meeting new people. On top of that, she took great care of our house too! We are already booking her for more overnight stays. We’re so excited to have found someone who we can trust our pups and house too for short and extended stays!”

“Kerri is a straightforward communicator and very approachable, always willing to go the extra mile. Her professionalism inspired trust and peace of mind, so I asked Kerri if she would take care of Milo for almost another month, and she did. I was happy and relaxed because I knew Kerri was taking care of my house and Milo. Kerri is awesome!!!!”

“Finley stayed at our home and took great care of our Great Dane while we were away. We were sent regular updates and photos during their time together. And, without being asked Finley even washed the sheets, towels, and kitchenware before leaving the house. He will definitely be at the top of our Rover list next time we need a sitter.”

“Sydney took good care of our pups while we were gone! She was available to help us on short notice when another Rover canceled on us at the last minute. We will definitely consider her again on our next trip!”

“Eric provided great care for dogs and they enjoyed getting to stay home vs. being sent away to boarding. Would reach out to Eric if I need house sitting in the future.”

About: I have been a dog lover for as long as I can remember. My family has had dogs for my entire life and I have always found great joy in caring for them. In particular, I have experience walking dogs. When I'm at home, I will walk my dogs for many miles everyday. I have experience walking multiple dogs at once and keeping them under control when they get too excited. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends! I'm currently in between jobs, so I have wide open availability for the time being. Would be happy to use my time caring for your dogs! I will be deeply respectful of all house rules when staying in your home. If I was housesitting for a dog, I would ask extensive questions beforehand so I would know what was expected of me in terms of house rules and pet-care.
“100% recommend. Best, best friend ever! Annette was delightful to work with. She was punctual, attentive and organized. She stayed with our pups for full 4 days and she was always in touch and feeding the animals the right medications and meals. On top of that she was organized and clean. Lastly, what we enjoyed the most is that our dogs seemed very happy and relaxed with her. She is a true find and look forward to working with her in the near future.”

“Guillermo saved us last minute when we needed him to house sit our dog. He was so sweet and caring with him and administered his insulin. He was so knowledgeable and took on his two shots of insulin for his diabetes and his meals and walked him. He’s amazing!!”

“Jasmin took wonderful care of Gilly as always, sent us cute videos and photos, and helped us deal with an unexpected situation with our car getting damaged while we were away. She really went above and beyond and we can't say enough good things about her.”

“Asia took wonderful care of my Yorkie over the course of two days this week. She is friendly, diligent, professional, communicative, and very kind. Your pet could not possibly be in a better hands. She has a great love for animals and it shows in her work.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 13. Family friends, neighbors, and friends have trusted me with their pets. I have also have a year old cavalier and she is the best! I’m working part time Monday and Wednesday so I’m available after 5:30pm on those days. I’m available anytime on all the other days of the week including weekends! I’m reliable and flexible within those hours and happy to accommodate scheduling needs. I provide every pet with attentive, personalized care based on their routine and needs. In a client’s home, I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water at all times, get plenty of exercise, playtime, and affection, and receive any medications or special care instructions as directed. I also keep their environment clean by picking up after them, cleaning food and water bowls, and respecting the client’s home by leaving it tidy.
“Devika was prompt and personable and connected with my dog immediately. She kept me updated on his well-being and was great to work with. I had to unexpectedly find someone to watch my dog while I was out and was very lucky to find her.”

“Omar was wonderful with Cash. He is a GREAT communicator and attentive to Cash. He provided multiple daily updates, photos, and videos which I greatly appreciated. Daily walks, lots of pets for Cash, and attention. The house was in great shape coming home and well taken care of. I highly recommend Omar, he did a great job while I was on a 5 night trip. We will definitely reach back out for more house sitting!”
About: I have a gold retriever and I do know how difficult to leave them when you have to go. I’ll take care them like they are home. I’m full time mom, and my pup can play with your pup to make sure they won’t be alone. I’m full time mom and always home. Feel free to let me know if there’s any specific needs. So I can stay with your baby all the time to give them cuddles & play. I only accept a pup boarding at my house except you have 2 pups at the same time. My kids are pet lover too. They are more than happy to sleep with your baby if it’s needed.
“Nikki was outstanding with our dogs! She definitely had her hands full with our 4 month old puppy! Our senior dog loved her to pieces and didn’t exhibit his usual separation anxiety when away from me. She sent many photos and updates throughout our vacation. We loved that. She is a genuine dog lover, compassionate, and kind! We will definitely be asking her to sit for us again!”

Karein stayed in our home while we were away. She was fantastic. She asked lots of good questions, confirmed arrangements, sent lots of photos and videos, and took great care of our dog. And, we came home to a beautifully clean home. I look forward to having her stay with our dog again.

Cameron sat out border collie mix Sushi, at our house, and they were amazing. Our pup is high energy and they kept her engaged, played fetch and went for a long walk with her. We came home to a tired Sushi, clearly she had a great time. Cameron followed Sushi’s care instructions and was very communicative with us. They sent us updates of all the fun times they had with Sushi. Would love to have them again to care for Sushi ❤️

This was our first time booking with Sawyer, and everything was wonderful. We were away for a week and needed overnight care and daytime company for our Abyssinian, Freya, who doesn’t like being alone for long stretches. Sawyer did three feedings a day, kept her litter box and dishes clean, and made sure she got plenty of playtime and attention. He also stopped by beforehand to meet us and Freya, and it was obvious right away that she was comfortable with him—which gave us a lot of peace of mind. Throughout the week Sawyer was great at communicating and sent daily updates. We came home to a spotless house and a very happy cat. We can’t recommend Sawyer highly enough and will absolutely book him again for our next trip.

As of July 2026, there are 6,667 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bedford. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bedford walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bedford maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bedford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bedford. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
