“Elizabeth is the absolute best. She took such good care of my two dogs. I appreciated all the updates throughout her time with them. We will definitely have her take care of the pups again!”

“Wow. Svetlana is an absolutely wonderful dog-sitter. She came and watched my pup in my home for 6 days and they loved her. She sent me photos every day and little updates. I didn't worry about them once. Don't hesitate to book her for any pet care needs!”

“Jordyn did a great job caring for my westie in my home while I was away for a week. She sent updates and pictures. He was well cared for. When I returned home, Jordyn made sure everything was in perfect order! Linus misses her already! We’ll be calling Jordyn again! I highly recommend her!”

“Dani is wonderful! She watched our two dogs and our bird, in our home, while we were away for three nights. Both of our dogs are rescues and do much better staying in their own home. One of our dogs is very reactive and takes medication. Dani was so patient and kind and worked with us to help Cooper gain her trust. She communicated during our trip and sent us photos of our fur babies. She kept our house impeccable, as well! We will definitely be using Dani again in the near future. She is highly recommended to anyone looking for a compassionate, hardworking, knowledgeable dog sitter. Thank you Dani, for all you did to make us and our pets so comfortable!”

About: Hello, I go by V. I am currently looking for a full time job and am walking dogs in the interim. My schedule is a bit full at the moment, so I cannot take on new clients that need services daily. An animal’s wellbeing is my highest priority when they are in my care. I take them out every couple hours if they are antsy and am happy to play, cuddle, and give them my attention. Ultimately, I just love to see tails wagging :) Right now, I am doing pet care full time. Weekday afternoons are all booked up, but I have some available time slots in the mornings and evenings. Weekends I have most of the day open. Please message me with any questions. While my dog Frosty is very gentle with humans, he is not friendly towards other dogs, so I am unable to host animals in my own home. I can take out your pets for frequent walks or keep them entertained inside, whichever you prefer. My only caveat is that I am asthmatic so I have trouble keeping up with a dog that requires a lot of running or walks around a hilly neighborhood.
“Rwitika is simply outstanding in all respects whether caring, sense of responsibility, attitude, everything. We will look forward to contact her again as and when we need Brady’s care during our absence.”

About: I have been proud to be a shih tzu owner for 3 years with my family. I have also been pet sitting and walking since I was 12 I walk and feed my dog on a daily basis. I also play with him during my free time and weather permitting, take him to the dog park I currently live in an apartment while occasionally staying at my parents house. I make sure to give them the care they need and show them how much they are loved.
About: I have 7+ years experience with my moody fur baby. and have been actively sitting for my friend's dogs and cats. Its just me and my baby at home so your special one will get ample amount of love and attention. I am available at home 24hrs on Monday & Tuesday. (And occasionally on weekends) For any other days i am available only after 8PM . My own baby is very moody and requires a lot of attention .But i have trained her well. Pets have full freedom in my house and i allow them on my furnitures too. There have been times where my baby only ate when i fed her from my hand. Its the same feeling i get when I feed babies. That sense of motherly love is what I like to give to all fur babies too.

About: Hi I’m Angelica, i’ve owned so many dogs throughout my life from tiny dogs to big dogs, I currently have two of my own dogs and walk them every day as is, I would love to go on walks with other dogs as well and get some exorcise in with your dogs as well! I adore all sorts of animals! I’m a high school senior, so I get out of school anywhere from 12-1 which is early, so anytime after that I can come walk dogs or take care of cats or whatever is needed of me to do. I do not allow animals in my house but I can come to your house and walk your dog or check on the cat whenever is needed.
About: I’ve spent the last 6 years caring for dogs and cats for families in my neighborhood, including puppies, high‑energy dogs, and seniors who need a gentler pace. I regularly do dog walking, drop‑in visits, and house sitting, and I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, medications, walks, and playtime. I treat every animal like my own, send lots of photo updates, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and relaxed while their people are away. I’m a college student, so my availability is best during school breaks and holidays. When I’m home in New Jersey, I’m generally free on both weekdays and weekends, and I’m happy to work around your travel plans. I keep my calendar up to date and respond quickly so we can find times that fit your schedule. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to the routines you already have in place—feeding schedule, walk times, and house rules. I always double‑check doors, gates, and leashes, and I watch for any changes in behavior or appetite that might signal a problem. I’m respectful of your home, keep things tidy, and send clear updates and photos so you always know how your pets are doing.
“Kate spent two weeks with our 17 year old cat, Hunter. For the first four nights she also cared for our 5 year old Labrador retriever, Orli. Kate provided daily updates & great photos. It was obvious from the photos that both Hunter & Orli were comfortable and relaxed with Kate. Kate had no problem giving Hunter his twice daily insulin injections & keeping him on his feeding/meds schedule. It’s a comfort to know your fur babies are well cared for when you are away. We will definitely book Kate again to care for Hunter & Orli!”

“They were great!! It was my first time using a sitter and I have an anxious dog that takes medication. They were so patient with him and updated us every step of the way! I feel so much more comfortable knowing I have people who can watch my boy when we are away 🤍”

“We had such a great experience with Kayla. Our dog struggles with separation anxiety, but Kayla did such a great job to calm his nerves. She was very patient with him and went out of her way to do a meet and greet prior to the appointment. He had such a good time! Highly recommend.”

“Shanette stayed at our house for one week with our Maltese. Took excellent care of our dog and sent updates, pictures, and videos. We felt so at ease and comfortable with our dog in her care. Worth the money for peace of mind.”

“This was our very first time using Rover, and as extremely overprotective dog parents, we were definitely nervous. But Brad was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He eased our minds with daily updates, complete with photos and videos that showed just how well our dog was doing! We also had a Fi tracker on his collar and it was so reassuring to see how many walks and steps he was getting. Brad took him out so often, even more than our normal routine! Our dog occasionally gets so excited that he’ll throw up if he hasn’t eaten in a while, and when it happened, Brad immediately texted us, cleaned it up, and made sure he ate and drank after. His communication was quick, calm, and thoughtful, which helped us feel totally at ease. It was clear our dog was incredibly well cared for — he got plenty of walks, playtime with his toys, and lots of attention. Honestly, he looked sad when Brad left! Brad also left our home neat and spotless, which we really appreciated. We feel like we hit the jackpot with Brad. We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to take care of our fur baby, and we’d recommend him to absolutely anyone. We hope to book with him again!”

“Kim was a lifesaver! We needed a sitter last minute for our pups as we were traveling to Italy. She wrote down notes for each of the puppies during the house visit and was confident the care she would provide them. She was attentive to their and our needs. She kept us informed throughout our trip and was able to understand their personalities. The pups gravitated towards her and felt comfortable. I would definitely reach out to her again!”

About: Love all types of fur babies! And ready to take care of yours like they’re my own. My boyfriend and I have our own shelter with 10 dogs and 6 cats at our farm in Colombia. Ready to stay active and go on a run or give them all the pets they need and let them nap! Up to the pup or kitty! I’m currently working part time so I’m available during the morning time and for overnight stays. And I love to take walks so if I can stay active and take your fur baby out, that’s perfect! I will take care of your pet as you wish! First, we would establish important health need-to-knows, routines, ground rules, do’s and don’t’s, then I’d be able make sure everyone is comfortable and clear about your pet’s needs.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Green Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Green Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Green Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Green Village. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
