We had to book a dog sitter on short notice over a holiday weekend and we couldn’t have been luckier that Hadija was able to watch Edna last minute! She sent us regular video updates and made sure Edna kept to her usual routine. It was a relief to be able to travel and know that our dog was so well cared for. About: I had a Yorkshire Terrier who lived for almost 16 years. After he passed away, I found a small puppy on the street. I took care of him and eventually couldn't give him away. Now Lucky—that's his name—is 4 years old and weighs 75 lbs. I'm very comfortable with dogs and have a good understanding of their behavior and what they need. You could say I have over 20 years of experience with dogs, and even more if you count cats. If your dog loves to run, I can take him to a park with unpaved trails (I can explain why I prefer unpaved trails) and ride alongside him on my bicycle. I have a protective dog cover for the back seat of my car and a leash that can be attached to a bicycle. I also periodically donate money to people who rescue and care for orphaned and homeless dogs. I have enough time to handle this job, plus I truly love dogs and cats, so it's honestly more of a hobby than a job. First, I sit on the floor next to the dog. When my eyes are almost at the same level as the dog's eyes, they feel no aggression from the stranger. When the dog gets used to me and my presence doesn't disturb him/her, I start playing with him/her (I can't call them 'it'). I've fed orphaned and homeless dogs before and know how to approach them. Once I spent 5 hours (I'm not kidding) saving a homeless dog who had fallen into a water drainage and couldn't get out.

I currently own a high energy retriever mix named Koda and have had dogs my entire life. I am extremely comfortable around all dogs no matter their size. I have owned and been responsible for dogs ranging from cockapoos and daschunds to labs, border collies, pitbulls, and sheep dogs. I work from home so my availability is extremely flexible. I'm always happy to work out a schedule based on your needs. My goal is to make you and your dog as happy and comfortable as possible. I work from home so I can be flexible depending on your dogs needs. I love taking dogs on long walks around their neighborhood or bringing them to Watchung Reservation for some well deserved time in nature. I understand every dog's needs are different so I'll make sure they're comfortable and content while their owners are away. I have experience caring for reactive dogs and am comfortable walking with them and am a firm believer in positive reinforcement.

“Jordyn was amazing with my pitbull Leah! She really cared about her routine and well being. My dog has a lot of separation anxiety so when I left she didn’t eat much. Jordyn kept me informed and even went out of her way to cook her some chicken and rice to help her to start eating again and help stomach issues. Leah is also very strong and can pull hard at times and she had no issues walking her. I have been so scared to leave my dog with someone for this long (6 nights). So I feel so happy I found Jordyn so I can vacation without being nervous about Leah. I recommend 100%!”

About: I'm a pet-loving mother of four with three children in college—and enjoying the wonderful pets I have met through this site. I have lived in Scotch Plains for almost 15 years. I watch several dogs regularly on a private basis and am excited to be part of the Rover community. I grew up with a beloved menagerie that included three cats, two beloved dachshunds and a poodle and have enjoyed watching a variety of dogs, including a bulldog, a French bulldog, a Bernese, a labradoodle, and, of course, mixed breeds.
