About: Hi, I’m Danielle! I’ve been the proud owner of a chocolate cockapoo, Hershey, for 11+ years now. Although I’m very familiar with mixed breeds as a result of owning one myself, I adore dogs of all breeds and sizes. I can’t wait to meet and play with your dog soon! I’m currently working at home with a flexible schedule. I’ve always been a dog-lover and hope to integrate more dog walking and pet sitting into my weekly routine. I’m very familiar with all sorts of pet care, from dog walking to pet sitting. I frequently take my own dog on long walks/hikes, to vet/grooming visits, and more!
About: I'm a pet-loving mother of four with three children in college—and enjoying the wonderful pets I have met through this site. I have lived in Scotch Plains for almost 15 years. I watch several dogs regularly on a private basis and am excited to be part of the Rover community. I grew up with a beloved menagerie that included three cats, two beloved dachshunds and a poodle and have enjoyed watching a variety of dogs, including a bulldog, a French bulldog, a Bernese, a labradoodle, and, of course, mixed breeds. I love walking and daily yoga and look forward to helping your pets get the fresh air, activity and affection they need when you are working or otherwise busy. I am a freelance writer with a flexible schedule and have time for walks and visits before or after work and at lunchtime. Having raised a family, I know how important it is to have a pet sitter who is mature and reliable and understands how deeply you love your pets--and am honored to assist you in keeping them happy and healthy. While I would love to help every pet, I am petite, so my ideal sized pets are under 50 pounds. I am a freelance writer with a flexible schedule and my own car. I rise early every day, and I am often available on weekends. I am often available at lunch time to clients who need their dogs walked mid day. I am a mature, reliable and organized mother of four and will treat your beloved and adorable pet like a member of my own family.
“We had River care for our senior Labrador while we were away for the weekend. She was great to work with -- conscientious in her preparations, very communicative throughout the stay giving us updates multiple times each day . She was able to accomodate all of our dog's idiosyncracies. At the end of the weekend everyone was happy! Will definitely work with River again.”

“Isabel is awesome! She has a great energy and was so loving and attentive towards my dog. She also was easy to communicate with, very accommodating, and sent me lots of pictures. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be reaching out to her again to care for my dog. Thanks so much, Isabel!”

“Javier is a terrific dog sitter! Punctual, great communicator, super considerate of our home, very easy to work with, and absolutely fabulous with our two goldens. Would recommend without reservations, and we will definitely be using him again in the future!”

“Claire was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our dog, Charlie, while we were out of town for the weekend. She always kept us updated with texts and photos and took Charlie on a bunch of walks, which he loves! She also took great care of apartment and it was spotless when we got back. I couldn’t recommend Claire enough!”

“We had such a great experience with Kayla. Our dog struggles with separation anxiety, but Kayla did such a great job to calm his nerves. She was very patient with him and went out of her way to do a meet and greet prior to the appointment. He had such a good time! Highly recommend.”

“Shanette stayed at our house for one week with our Maltese. Took excellent care of our dog and sent updates, pictures, and videos. We felt so at ease and comfortable with our dog in her care. Worth the money for peace of mind.”

“Thalia did an amazing job caring for our two girls while we were away. She house sat for us on two separate days and followed everything we had laid out - from their walking schedule to feeding them exactly how they’re used to. It was clear she took the time to make sure their routine stayed consistent. She was also very communicative, sending us photo updates during walks and even at naptime, which we really appreciated. Being away from your dogs can be stressful, but Thalia gave us real peace of mind knowing they were not only well cared for, but genuinely loved on while we were gone. We’d absolutely trust her with them again.”

“This is the first time we are bringing a pet sitter home. Hajida did a phenomenal job taking care of Coco. Coco is 17.5 years old and recently lost her sight. Hajida made her feel very comfortable and bonded amazingly with her.”

About: Growing up with many pets, I always enjoyed spending time with and caring for my furry family members. While in college and into present day, I continued to work with animals through dog walking as well as pet and house sitting. Past clients, friends, and neighbors rely on me to care for and spoil their furry family members while away from home on trips or simply for a quick gaunt to the park. In the past, I worked with cats, dogs, and other mammals, but I am more than happy to learn how to care for other pets, such as amphibians, birds, and reptiles. I have a flexible job full time job. I am available most days of the week except Thursday to relocate for pet and house sitting. I’m flexible to swing by to check on your pet or take for a walk throughout the day if overnights are of less interest. I am available throughout the day for quick let outs and check-ins with your pets. I can easily crate your dog in my apartment while boarding them. I also live 5 minutes from a great dog parks for your pup to get socialization. For cats and other furry friends, there is plenty of room for them to roam and play. FYI: I do have one cat, named Sedona. She is very chill around other pets and does her own thing.
About: I love spending time and caring for pets! While I am new to professional pet sitting/dog walking apps, I have really enjoyed walking dogs for friends, and I do have more than 1 and a half years of experience in childcare to bring to the table - one of which I was working with a special needs child. Working with children has made me incredibly patient, attentive, and nurturing. I am excited to bring the same level of care to your pets and gain more experience. I look forward to meeting you and your pet! My schedule is very flexible during the week. I can work Monday to Friday all hours of the day and occasionally on weekends, some mornings on Saturdays and some evenings on Sundays. I will make sure to keep a good eye on your pet in your home and make sure they are well fed, hydrated, and happy.

About: I grew up with golden retrievers so I am well experienced in the needs of walking, grooming, and caring for these or any dogs. I am responsible, timely, and compassionate, and I will make sure your pet is in good hands. I work M-F, but will be available in the afternoons or all day on weekends. I can do early mornings or afternoons/evenings. Willing to work weekends as well. I will be sure to respect the client's home and safety of their pets by ensuring dogs remain on leash or in a fenced in yard when going outside the home.
About: I am available just about every day and I really care about animals. I’ve had a dog since I was 7 years old and a cat as well. Pet care is a regular part of my daily routine as I’m a loving dog owner who always tries to provide the best for my pet, as well as other pets that I dog sit. I treat other pets just as I would treat my own. I provide a lot of love and attention and make sure all of their needs are met.
“Monique is a great and reliable sitter! She did great with our dog who is old and a little stubborn. We had some issues with our house that she handled responsibly. Overall, a great sitter!”

Emma is an incredible and I can’t recommend her highly enough! She is responsive, responsible and genuinely loves animals (and they love her!). I will hire her again without reservation and have recommended her to several friends. She will absolutely treat your pet like it’s her own, and I had such peace of mind leaving my sweet girl in Emma’s care.

Our anxious dog shuts down when we leave the house. We had to be out for 12 hours and Thalia was able to get her out for potty breaks a few times and coaxed her to eat a little. She also sent us updates throughout the day so we could feel at ease while we were gone.

Claire was terrific with our three dogs (and our son's Golden Retriever puppy)! She was punctual, followed our instructions on feeding and let them go out as needed. The dogs seemed to really like her. We will definitely use her again when the opportunity srises
if I can leave 10 stars I would! Talk about a consistent amount of changes to our schedule we had to go through due to one of our fur babies getting sick post spay and Marlee was wonderful for every step of the way! flexible and understanding. We can’t thank her enough for her compassion and care for our cats and she will definitely be our go to going forward!!

Catherine was absolutely excellent! My dog needed extra care for a foot injury including antibiotics, pain meds, and eye drops since he’s blind and she handled everything perfectly. She was attentive, careful, and kept me updated throughout. I felt at ease knowing Joey was being cared for well.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 18,445 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Westfield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
