“We had River care for our senior Labrador while we were away for the weekend. She was great to work with -- conscientious in her preparations, very communicative throughout the stay giving us updates multiple times each day . She was able to accomodate all of our dog's idiosyncracies. At the end of the weekend everyone was happy! Will definitely work with River again.”

“Shanette stayed at our house for one week with our Maltese. Took excellent care of our dog and sent updates, pictures, and videos. We felt so at ease and comfortable with our dog in her care. Worth the money for peace of mind.”

“Jessica took care of our pup for 9 days. She is Very reliable and flexible and kept us well informed during our trip. We felt fully comfortable her staying in our house. Warm recommendation for Jessica to take care of your dog 👍”

About: I have had pets my whole life (dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, and turtles) and adopted my own two cats at 16 years old. I understand the responsibility and want to help others (: I am currently doing an internship but I am available at random times throughout the day. I'm a therapist so I have an open schedule I have a fenced yard back and front. I do live with my family but we all are pet lovers, we have always adopted pets. I have two dogs and two cats

“Shivarah was wonderful, from setting up a meet and greet prior to the booking to taking care of my two cats! It was so nice knowing that my boys were going to be well taken care of while I was gone. She was kind, attentive, a great communicator and sent pics every day. I highly recommend her!”
“Thalia did an amazing job caring for our two girls while we were away. She house sat for us on two separate days and followed everything we had laid out - from their walking schedule to feeding them exactly how they’re used to. It was clear she took the time to make sure their routine stayed consistent. She was also very communicative, sending us photo updates during walks and even at naptime, which we really appreciated. Being away from your dogs can be stressful, but Thalia gave us real peace of mind knowing they were not only well cared for, but genuinely loved on while we were gone. We’d absolutely trust her with them again.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Shannon. I came to her with a little bit of an odd request—more like an evening of babysitting our pup than a traditional dog sit. Happy is 5 months old and full of energy. And also still learning how to behave in someone else’s house. We were staying with our daughter and her family so we could attend a family wedding in a different city than where we live. I looked on Rover and found this woman with years of experience as a certified dog sitter, who seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. I thought she would not be overwhelmed by a 5-month-old golden retriever pup. So I reached out to Shannon long distance and she was right there with all the good questions and suggestions about how to make my plan work. We chatted for about an hour to make sure we both felt comfortable and then I booked the appointment. Shannon even came to my daughter’s house the day before the wedding just to meet Happy and give me a chance to share any additional details. Then on the day of the wedding, she came right on time and gracefully managed our pup (walks, potty breaks, dinner, playing with our very young grandkids , settling for the night), which enabled our son-in-law to manage our two grandchildren without any additional complications. Her skill and kindness with Happy made the whole evening stress-free for all of us. It was a dream dog sit. When it came time for Shannon to leave, Happy just walked over and sat down right at her heels and nuzzled her hand. Thank you Shannon!”

“Maia took such great care of my Kai. He is a reactive boy and she was able to walk him no problem. She is responsive and gives good photos ! Keeps the house clean and is well trusted. 5/5!”

“Gabe was an amazing pet sitter for my senior pug & respect caretaker for our home. I’m so appreciative for his professional and prompt communication throughout the process from the initial booking to the end of the stay. He took the time to read my dog’s profile, asked great questions, accompanied me on a short walk for the meet & greet to get acclimated and sent photo updates during the stay. Additionally he was available to help on short notice and flexible with his schedule. I would recommend Gabe 100% to any family or friends looking for trusted help for care for their furry family members :-) Thank you!”

“Amanda helped me out last minute when I got stuck at work for two days in the blizzard. When my dogs met her they took to her right away. I felt comfortable knowing they were in good hands. Amanda kept me updated throughout the stay w texts and pictures. 10/10 would need use her again.”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received from Brittiany. She was kind, reliable, and resposible. She sent frequent updates and asked questions, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. The house was left spotless, and our dog seemed relaxed, happy, and extremely well-cared-for when we returned. It’s such a relief to know we have someone we can fully trust with both our home and Maia. We will absolutely be booking again!”

Emma is an incredible and I can’t recommend her highly enough! She is responsive, responsible and genuinely loves animals (and they love her!). I will hire her again without reservation and have recommended her to several friends. She will absolutely treat your pet like it’s her own, and I had such peace of mind leaving my sweet girl in Emma’s care.

Our anxious dog shuts down when we leave the house. We had to be out for 12 hours and Thalia was able to get her out for potty breaks a few times and coaxed her to eat a little. She also sent us updates throughout the day so we could feel at ease while we were gone.

Sofia was the BEST! Our pups loved spending time with her while we were away! We recieved daily updates and photos which brought us peace of mind! She took care of our home as well...she treated it as if it was her own! We feel very lucky to have gotten to know her, and we will for sure want her to sit for our dogs again!

Sara was fantastic! We’ve never left our boy with someone other than family before so we were very anxious, but Sara quickly put our concerns to rest. She was extremely communicative and sent us a bunch of pics every day. I’m so glad we found her and will happily use her again in the future!!

Abby was absolutely amazing during her stay with our pets. She followed our instructions, was loving and engaging with them and sent pictures daily. She also anticipated needs, which was very helpful. She was trustworthy and reliable. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. We have already booked her again for regular walks

Emma has been an amazing pet sitter for our puppy. From the very beginning, she’s shown so much care, patience, and reliability. Our puppy is always so excited to see her, which says everything about the bond they’ve built. Our puppy is happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for with Emma, giving us total peace of mind. Emma does a great job following instructions, keeping us updated, and truly treating our puppy like her own. We’re incredibly grateful for everything she does and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter.

if I can leave 10 stars I would! Talk about a consistent amount of changes to our schedule we had to go through due to one of our fur babies getting sick post spay and Marlee was wonderful for every step of the way! flexible and understanding. We can’t thank her enough for her compassion and care for our cats and she will definitely be our go to going forward!!

Desire went above and beyond! She regularly updated about the pets, kept the house tidy, and when we returned from our trip the house was cleaner than when we left! We will absolutely be having Desire house sit more! Two large dogs and a cat can be a lot but she crushed it!
Stephanie helped us out last minute when our previous sitter canceled on us. Stephanie is so sweet and was wonderful with our four greyhounds! The pups just loved her. It was comforting to know she was caring for them while we were away and the photos and updates were lovely!

FAQs for House Sitting - Kenilworth
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Kenilworth on Rover is $63.83 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 18,618 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kenilworth. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kenilworth walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kenilworth maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kenilworth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kenilworth. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
