I provide pet sitting exclusively in clients’ homes, where pets feel most comfortable and secure in their familiar surroundings. I offer overnight stays, allowing me to maintain their routines, provide companionship, and ensure their well-being throughout the night. I do not offer pet care in my own home, but I take great care to respect each client’s space and follow detailed instructions so your pet is calm, happy, and well cared for.

I cannot book a pet sit without doing a (free) meet and greet with both you and your pet(s) to ensure trust, familiarity, and a good fit for all involved. During that time, I will collect information on your pet and their routine, any medical conditions, fears, or triggers; home logistics (location of pet supplies, security info, emergency contacts); your expectations; and an emergency plan. This can take between 20 and 45 minutes.
A typical day
I want to keep your pets in their normal routine. Walks, outside play in the yard, feeding, change of water, waste clean-up, and litter box scooping. Treats, and plenty of love, affection, and chin or butt scratches!

I am a former certified pet sitting business owner with over 35 years of hands-on experience caring for pets, and I am fully insured. I specialize in overnight stays in clients’ homes, providing pets with comfort and companionship in their own familiar environment. This service is especially valuable for pets who thrive on routine and do best with a calm, reassuring presence overnight. I am extremely detailed, so I can be sure your pet keeps their normal routine while you’re gone. I know how much trust it takes to invite someone into your home and care for your beloved pets, and I take that responsibility very seriously. As a full-time professional, I am available for visits during the week (Monday through Friday) after 4:00pm and for visits and overnights in your home from Friday 4:00pm through Sunday evening. Please note, as Rover does not display all pricing - my puppy rates are between $15 - $20 more per service. My holiday rates are also $20 additional on specified holidays. If you happen to have a puppy and need service on a holiday, it will be $35 - 40 additional. I also offer overnight visits, which Rover calls "housesitting." My overnights are from 7/8pm to 7/8am and that includes anything the pet needs during that time (walks, playtime, feeding, love and attention, sleeping in bed with me, etc.). Visits during the daytime hours over one hour are considered 'constant care' and is priced differently. I offer a discount from my hourly rate for constant care to make it affordable for the client. I can’t say enough good things about Shannon. I came to her with a little bit of an odd request—more like an evening of babysitting our pup than a traditional dog sit. Happy is 5 months old and full of energy. And also still learning how to behave in someone else’s house. We were staying with our daughter and her family so we could attend a family wedding in a different city than where we live. I looked on Rover and found this woman with years of experience as a certified dog sitter, who seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. I thought she would not be overwhelmed by a 5-month-old golden retriever pup. So I reached out to Shannon long distance and she was right there with all the good questions and suggestions about how to make my plan work. We chatted for about an hour to make sure we both felt comfortable and then I booked the appointment. Shannon even came to my daughter’s house the day before the wedding just to meet Happy and give me a chance to share any additional details. Then on the day of the wedding, she came right on time and gracefully managed our pup (walks, potty breaks, dinner, playing with our very young grandkids , settling for the night), which enabled our son-in-law to manage our two grandchildren without any additional complications. Her skill and kindness with Happy made the whole evening stress-free for all of us. It was a dream dog sit. When it came time for Shannon to leave, Happy just walked over and sat down right at her heels and nuzzled her hand. Thank you Shannon!
Shannon provided cat sitting for my two cats over a period of a week via daily drop ins. She was detailed and thorough in her meet and great. Shannon was intentive to my cats needs, kept me updated throughout my travel, and made sure to exercise my cats the best one can. She easily navigated my automated cat feeders, kept the litter box clean, and made sure to tidy up any messes the cats may have made between visits. I'm sure the boys will miss their daily play time and tube treat sessions with Shannon! Will be sure to book again.
Shannon was absolutely amazing with our 5 year old pitty. She was so thorough at our meet and greet over Quintley’s routine and needs. Shannon was there twice during the day at exactly the time we asked for. She kept me updated with messages and pictures. Her communication is fabulous. There was no question that our pup was in great hands. I highly recommend her and will definitely use her again. The absolute best!!
