We had River care for our senior Labrador while we were away for the weekend. She was great to work with -- conscientious in her preparations, very communicative throughout the stay giving us updates multiple times each day . She was able to accomodate all of our dog's idiosyncracies. At the end of the weekend everyone was happy! Will definitely work with River again.

About: I’ve been providing pet care for years and have experience with dogs, cats, puppies, seniors, and pets with special needs. I also have over 100 five-star testimonials from past clients on another platform that I’m happy to share upon request. I’m experienced in administering medications, including oral medications and injections such as insulin, and I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions to keep pets happy and healthy. I work from home, so your pet will receive plenty of attention, supervision, and one-on-one care throughout the day rather than being left alone for long periods. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. My goal is to give pet parents complete peace of mind, knowing their furry family member is being cared for as if they were my own. I work from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to provide plenty of one-on-one attention throughout the day. Your pet will rarely be left alone and will receive regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and lots of love. I’m very active and enjoy long walks, outdoor time, and keeping dogs mentally and physically engaged. I can easily adapt to your pet’s normal routine so they feel comfortable, happy, and at home while you’re away. I’m up early and very active throughout my day. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are my highest priorities. After years of providing pet boarding, I’ve intentionally adapted my home to create a safe environment for visiting pets. I have secure locking pet gates to safely block access to stairways when needed, non-slip stair grips to help prevent slips and falls, and indoor security cameras that allow me to monitor pets and review any unexpected situations if necessary. Because I work from home, pets receive constant supervision, individualized attention, and very little time alone. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, including feeding schedules, exercise, medications, and any special instructions, to help them feel comfortable and at ease. I’ll also keep you updated with regular photos and messages, so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and receiving attentive, personalized care.

About: I’m a current cat owner to my 1-year-old indoor cat, Noodle. I’ve boarded some cats at home, providing attentive feeding, companionship, and monitoring their needs. In addition, I have 3 years of experience caring for dogs by home sitting, drop in visits, and walking. This has helped me become patient, reliable, and attentive to different pet personalities. So I’m very familiar with daily care, feeding routines, litter maintenance for cats, potty training for puppies and understanding their behavior. I truly enjoy caring for animals and will treat your bebe like my own while keeping you updated for peace of mind. I have a very flexible schedule working from home three days a week. Available for week and weekend boarding or daily drop ins. Also available to schedule multiple drop ins during the day. I understand how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pet in someone else’s care. I’m attentive, reliable, and will always follow your cat’s routine closely. I provide regular photo updates and make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I live in the first floor with no access to the backyard. My one year old American Shorthair is very friendly but shy, the two month old is very friendly. I also have a 17-year old human child in the house.

I strongly recommend Maia, who was terrific with my dogs when I needed to travel out of town. She took wonderful care of my elderly Great Pyrenees, who has special needs, as well as his less needy sibling. She was great at communicating and let me know about a developing ear infection that she noticed, so we were able to treat that promptly. Plus, she went above and beyond in keeping the house clean. I will certainly contact her again the next time I need to travel.

Thalia did an amazing job caring for our two girls while we were away. She house sat for us on two separate days and followed everything we had laid out - from their walking schedule to feeding them exactly how they’re used to. It was clear she took the time to make sure their routine stayed consistent. She was also very communicative, sending us photo updates during walks and even at naptime, which we really appreciated. Being away from your dogs can be stressful, but Thalia gave us real peace of mind knowing they were not only well cared for, but genuinely loved on while we were gone. We’d absolutely trust her with them again.

About: Your doggos would be cared for as I would want my doggie to be cared for, thats 1000% certain. It is the golden rule I live by. I’ve had experience training puppies and sitting for them for weeks! I’d love to dog sit your doggos anytime! I’m off work this summer, so I am able to dog walk/sit anytime! That being said I would be able to work with your timelines! I make sure I get the ground rules on how the pet owner would like me to do and care for the pet. I know everyone has their own preferences on how to care and handle their pets, so I would respect and honor it. If I am in their home, I would be respectful and clean as it is their home and I would be a guest.

I can’t say enough good things about Shannon. I came to her with a little bit of an odd request—more like an evening of babysitting our pup than a traditional dog sit. Happy is 5 months old and full of energy. And also still learning how to behave in someone else’s house. We were staying with our daughter and her family so we could attend a family wedding in a different city than where we live. I looked on Rover and found this woman with years of experience as a certified dog sitter, who seemed very knowledgeable and friendly. I thought she would not be overwhelmed by a 5-month-old golden retriever pup. So I reached out to Shannon long distance and she was right there with all the good questions and suggestions about how to make my plan work. We chatted for about an hour to make sure we both felt comfortable and then I booked the appointment. Shannon even came to my daughter’s house the day before the wedding just to meet Happy and give me a chance to share any additional details. Then on the day of the wedding, she came right on time and gracefully managed our pup (walks, potty breaks, dinner, playing with our very young grandkids , settling for the night), which enabled our son-in-law to manage our two grandchildren without any additional complications. Her skill and kindness with Happy made the whole evening stress-free for all of us. It was a dream dog sit. When it came time for Shannon to leave, Happy just walked over and sat down right at her heels and nuzzled her hand. Thank you Shannon!

FAQs for House Sitting - Roselle Park

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Roselle Park on Rover is $83.25 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 18,653 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Roselle Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Roselle Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Roselle Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Roselle Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Roselle Park. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
