“Becky and family were such great pet sitters! They sent so many photos of my dog and I can tell from the photos that Juniper was in good hands. Excellent communicators. I would recommend them to anyone that wants their dog to feel comfortable while you are away.”

“Karina spent a full week caring for my dog J. They were a great fit together .. and I was very pleased with how much she enjoyed her time with him. Abundant communication throughout each day: pictures, videos, and notes about activities, and how he was adjusting. It was a great comfort to know he was being well cared for, and given so much positive attention & love. Truly above and beyond my expectations. I am sure J is looking forward to seeing Karina again.!!”

“Since we rescued Sedona in October and this was her 1st time staying with a dog sitter, we were a little nervous with how she would be with a sitter. How fortunate were we to find Zuzel! Sedona requires 3 different types of eye drops to be given 3 times a day. We were so happy to find someone willing to care for our special needs fur baby. Zuzal and her daughter were so kind and caring. They put us and Sedona atease”

“We found Melanie on Rover.com and she was great! She lives close to us, which made us feel a lot better about leaving our dog. She gave our dog such great personal care, followed all the feeding instructions perfectly and handled the medicines and supplements exactly like we asked. She gave us regular updates with pictures of our dog . She has worked previously in a vet clinic so she’s confident and knows what she’s doing with animals. Melanie is reliable and clearly loves pets. We’ll definitely book her again!”

“Paul was phenomenal! I received daily photos and updates on how she was doing. Ru was put on a supplements after our meet and greet Paul was great about it, he was able to get her to take them even though she hates to. We will definitely be using Paul again in the future.”

“Julissa was awesome! She truly treated my dog like he was her own. She kept in contact with me daily with updates and pictures and videos, which I very much appreciated. She spent time with my dog, taking him for a walks, to play at the dog park, and out on adventures, which was very good for him and helped with socializing him. I recommend if you’re looking for a dog sitter or walker! I look forward to using her in the near future.”

“We had a wonderful experience! Cocoa was so well cared for, and it was clear he felt happy, comfortable, and loved. Their whole family, including the kids, was involved in caring for him, which made for such a warm and welcoming environment. We really appreciated the updates and the attention they gave him. We’d absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!”

“Booked a last min 5 night stay for my senior golden retriever! I sent an essay of instruction and Starry + Gio did an amazing job taking care of him. It was literally the coldest winter/weekend in NJ/NY area in the past 10+ years. They kept me updated constantly with walk pics throughout the day and pics of him in general! I was very happy to know that their dog (Walnut) is a sweetheart and gets along well with my dog! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a reliable and responsible couple to dog sit. Will definitely use again. Thank you!”

“Jordy was amazing! He took such great care of our dog Atlas. From the moment we met him we felt very comfortable and Atlas took right to him. We could not have asked for a better person or home to leave our dog with. Jordy communicated daily with updates and pictures on how Atlas was doing. We never worried about him because Jordy made us feel like our dog was being treated as if he was his own. I highly recommend him and would give him 10 stars if there were 10.. He is the best and we feel so blessed to have found him. We thank you so much and can’t wait to book with you again.”

Thanks you Lakshimi for treating Ruby like she was part of your family.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats for about 5 years now. I volunteer at an animal shelter and I love it. I have always been the go to person in my neighborhood when someone is out of town and needs someone to stop by their house or even care for their pets. I currently work part time so I have extra time on my hands. I have a large dog of my own and two cats so pet care is not unfamiliar to me Because I have a large dog of my own and two cats, I know what their needs and wants are. I have had pets since I could remember
“Richard and Kate are amazing dog parents and dog sitters, I left my pup with them for a week , they took very good care of him and treated him as their own. They sent regular updates and pictures and i could enjoy my vacation without any worries. I am lucky to find them here and will consider them for my future travels too.”

“Nadine & Tom were fantastic caretakers for our dog, Ellie. This was our first time using someone outside of family to watch her, so we were a bit nervous, but we couldn’t have been more thrilled with the experience. We were looking for someone warm and attentive who would give Ellie personalized care, and that’s exactly what we found with Nadine and Tom. Ellie can be anxious around other dogs, so it meant so much to us that she was able to stay with Nadine and Tom one-on-one. They truly made her feel comfortable and at home. We especially appreciated the daily photos and thoughtful updates, which gave us such peace of mind while we were away. We highly recommend Nadine & Tom and would absolutely book with them again.”

My dog loves boarding here! He’s stayed twice and both times came home happy and well loved. I received plenty of photo updates throughout his stay and always knew he was being well taken care of. He needs pills with his meals and that was never a problem. My dog can’t wait to go back!
Our dog Monster had a fantastic stay with Michelle. We felt very comfortable leaving him with her family for 9 days while we were away. She provided multiple updates throughout our trip, and it was easy to tell Monster was having a great time. Highly recommend!
As always, Linda and Doug have taken excellent care of Shadow. He loves going on walks and playing with the other dogs. While he doesn’t always eat his usual amount of food when he is away from home, they accommodate him and his quirky behavior when eating. Thanks!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
