I just graduated from the University of Miami and am taking a gap year before applying to medical school. I work a full-time job Mondays-Fridays while studying for the MCAT, but I’m still available for morning and afternoon walks/drop ins during week days and full availability on weekends

I am comfortable with crating and caring for pets however you see fit. I am very respectful of your household and will strictly follow instructions. I usually will not let your dog near other dogs on a walk unless told otherwise (you never know how dogs will react to certain dogs).

I know how important it is to stimulate dogs and cats mentally and physically. I will take dogs on walks and allow them to sniff as much as possible, as this stimulates their brains. In addition, I am happy to let them play with mentally stimulating toys/games.

I’ve cared for dogs and cats (and various rodents and reptiles) for about 10 years by walking, sitting, feeding, and playing with them. I worked at Murray Hill Vet in New Providence, NJ as a part time Vet assistant about 6 years, so I know how to administer all kinds of medications as well as take care of all animals. I have 2 dogs of my own, one of which I have raised as a puppy. The newest addition to my family is a cat that I found and rescued from UM campus.

Alissa was amazing with our diabetic cat, Pacha! We were incredibly nervous leaving her for the first time since her diabetes diagnosis, but Alissa immediately put us at ease. She was always on time, gave Pacha her food and insulin exactly as instructed, and sent wonderful updates and photos after every visit. Pacha is usually anxious, but she clearly loved Alissa (especially the catnip!). We’re so grateful for the excellent care and would absolutely book with her again.
Alissa is our go-to sitter for our dogs and cats. She’s terrific and we highly recommend her!
Alissa was great! With her experience in both human and veterinary medicine, we had total confidence in her watching our medically complex dog. She sent updates and was great with communication. It was clear that our dog had a great time with her! We will definitely book her again.
