“We were in desperate need of someone we could trust to watch our anxious rescue pup, Piper, during our wedding weekend. Lana was extremely patient with both Piper, and my husband and I, even agreeing to meet us several times before the stay to get us all comfortable. She sent numerous pictures and updates, which calmed our nerves so we could fully enjoy our wedding. Thank you Lana for taking great care of Piper, we will definitely be contacting her again if we ever need someone to dog sit Piper in the future.”

About: I’m just starting out on Rover, but I’ve grown up with dogs and been around them my whole life. I work remotely most days, so I am flexible to adjust my schedule to make sure your pet is well taken care of. The sillier and goofier your dog, the better! Whether your pet likes to go for long walks and play fetch or lounge around the house, you can be sure they will be in good hands while you’re away. I work a full-time job and am remote at least 3 days a week, so I am flexible to adjust my schedule to meet your dog’s needs. On the weekends I am looking for any excuse to be outside, so your pets will get plenty of time in the sun! My partner and I live in a house, with no other pets or children. Your pet will be my #1 priority! We have an open yard with plenty of shaded space, and some nice parks nearby. There is a neighbor that lives below us, so any dogs that bark very frequently may not be a great fit for us

“10/10 would recommend! Jessica and Guillermo were so amazing at taking care of Zip. Zip is a reactive dog and we were quite anxious leaving him with a sitter for the first time. Jessica made us feel so comfortable for the entire week she stayed with Zip. She was communicative and sent lots of pictures that made us know he was in great care. She respected all the instructions we gave for taking Zip on walks and was very comforting knowing we were a little nervous to leave him. We had some travel delays getting home and Jessica made accommodation to stay extra time so we didn’t have to worry about Zip. Jessica and Guillermo stayed at our apartment for the week as well and were incredible guest. They were clean and gracious and even cleaned up before leaving. Safe to say Zip has new best friends and we will absolutely be booking again!”

About: I have had pets since I was a kid and have also pet sit for family and friends. I have had both dogs and cats through my life, so I know how to take care of each. I work full time Monday-Friday, but do have flexibility to come let out a dog once per day if needed. I do not work on weekends, so I have availability as needed. I will follow all directions given, and will make sure to keep your pets safe and comfortable throughout the time I am watching them. I have experience with sitting both cats and dogs.
“Bryan was fabulous. He stayed at our house and watched 2 old cats and a dog that needs daily medication. He communicated very well before the stay so he knew what to do and touched base repeatedly while we were gone with pictures and updates of our animals. We came back to a well cared for house and very happy animals. I will absolutely be booking him again and encourage others to do so as well!”

“Carly was the BEST with our Ivy girl! She was so attentive and she wanted to make sure she followed all our instructions. She sent us daily updates constantly which I truly appreciated. So grateful for her! Thank you again, Carly!! Would love to have you watch ivy again!”

“Samantha was absolutely fantastic with our dogs, Lila and Cash. From the moment we met her, we felt comfortable leaving them with her. She’s reliable, communicative, and clearly loves animals. Lila can be particular and Cash is still a puppy with plenty of energy, but she handled both of them so well. We came home to two happy dogs and had total peace of mind while we were away. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring dog sitter 💕”

About: I have 7+ years experience with my moody fur baby. and have been actively sitting for my friend's dogs and cats. Its just me and my baby at home so your special one will get ample amount of love and attention. I am available at home 24hrs on Monday & Tuesday. (And occasionally on weekends) For any other days i am available only after 8PM . My own baby is very moody and requires a lot of attention .But i have trained her well. Pets have full freedom in my house and i allow them on my furnitures too. There have been times where my baby only ate when i fed her from my hand. Its the same feeling i get when I feed babies. That sense of motherly love is what I like to give to all fur babies too.
“Thanks to Vanessa, we had one less thing to worry about during our recent trip. She took great care of the boys and a few things around the house. Logistically, her work place being close to our house, gave us the assurance that she is closeby if needed during her working hours. The boys loved her so much, they went crazy when she had dropped by later to collect a few stuff she had left behind.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs ranging from different sizes and breeds since I was 17. Neighbors, friends, and coworkers have trusted me to walk, feed, and play with their dogs, and as a lifelong pet owner myself, I understand how crucial it is to have peace of mind when leaving your pet with a sitter. I’m attentive, empathetic, and detail-oriented, making sure every pup feels safe, loved, and comfortable whether it’s energetic walks, cuddle time, or sticking to their routine. I work full-time but am available after work for walks, drop-ins, play time, or feeding, with flexible care to fit your pet’s needs Friday through Sunday. Your pet’s comfort and happiness are my top priority! I treat every pet like family, providing safe, loving care in the comfort of your home. I’m hyper vigilant of my surroundings, making sure all doors and potential escape routes are secured, while following your instructions closely to keep your furry friend happy, calm, and secure.
About: I’ve spent the last 6 years caring for dogs and cats for families in my neighborhood, including puppies, high‑energy dogs, and seniors who need a gentler pace. I regularly do dog walking, drop‑in visits, and house sitting, and I follow each pet’s routine closely—feeding, medications, walks, and playtime. I treat every animal like my own, send lots of photo updates, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and relaxed while their people are away. I’m a college student, so my availability is best during school breaks and holidays. When I’m home in New Jersey, I’m generally free on both weekdays and weekends, and I’m happy to work around your travel plans. I keep my calendar up to date and respond quickly so we can find times that fit your schedule. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to the routines you already have in place—feeding schedule, walk times, and house rules. I always double‑check doors, gates, and leashes, and I watch for any changes in behavior or appetite that might signal a problem. I’m respectful of your home, keep things tidy, and send clear updates and photos so you always know how your pets are doing.
About: Over my life I have had 5 cats, 5 dogs ranging from small yorkies to pitbulls and a golden doodle. I would usually take responsibility for these animals like taking them outside on walks, feeding them, buying the toys they love to play with. Overall I can’t remember a time in my life where a pet was present around me in my home. Pet care fits very easily in my schedule because all I have is school, I am a highschool student. After school I don’t have much to do so pet care fits easily in my schedule. I have a fenced in backyard that I used for all my dogs and if they got tired of just roaming the same backyard I’d take them on walks when they wanted it. I put them to sleep in their crates and feed them when it is time. My cats are pretty free and only bother me if they want to use the backyard or want food, but I like to keep them entertained so I play with them using the toys I’ve bought.
About: Hi! My name is Danielle and I am the biggest dog lover you’ll ever meet! I have 1 little guy of my own. He stole my heart the moment I adopted him. I work from home full time so I love being able to spend it doing what I love. I walk some of the neighborhood dogs but really want to start expanding! I’ve always grown up around dogs. They fill my life up with so much joy. Let me know if you’d like to meet to discuss further! I have the privilege of working from home full time so pet care fits into my schedule very easily! All the dogs I’ve taken care of love me just being in their presence while their owner is away. It’s comforting to them Since I work from home, I can spend a ton of time with your dog! Unfortunately, I can’t have any dogs in my home because my rescue is fearful. To protect my dog and yours, I would have to care for your dog in your own home

Annett is wonderful and I’d recommend her to anyone! She stayed with our two sphynx cats for 10 days while we were in Europe. She took the time to really bond with them and we felt so much better knowing they were getting plenty of attention and care while we were away. She had excellent communication and her daily updates brought smiles to our faces every time!

Samantha was absolutely fantastic with our dogs, Lila and Cash. Emily took care of my 2 dogs for a long weekend. She was so great, responsible, and trustworthy! She stayed at our house and took such great care of our dogs. She hung out with them A LOT, which I really appreciated. She kept me updated with messages and photos as well. I loved not having to worry about my dogs while away on vacation because I knew they were in great hands. She also left my house exactly like it was when we left! Would DEF use Emily again!
Sophie did such a wonderful job caring for my dog while I was on vacation. My pup needs time to get used to new people and Sophie gave him the space that he needed to get comfortable with her. She sent me regular updates and photos and left my home spotless. I will definitely look to book Sophie for my next trip.

This is the second time Dani has taken care of Vinny. She kept me up-to-date while I was away on how he was doing each day and sent me plenty of pictures and videos. She kept my house spotless and when I came home everything was exactly where I left it. You can definitely trust her in your home and with your fur baby.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Morristown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Morristown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Morristown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Morristown. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
