About: I love dogs. I grew up showing basset hounds and had two labs before I went to grad school. Now I have a cute little 17lb bichon. All of my other dogs were what I affectionately call "wash and wear" dogs- he's the first that requires regular grooming. He's so cute- it's totally worth it. I like walking in the morning when it's cool and beautiful. Since I've spent so much of my life around dogs, I'm pretty good at reading their body language. I can tell if something makes them feel nervous or threatened and can take steps to help. It's really important for dogs to get out and have an adventure every day- it's so good for their attitude as well as their health! I prefer older or more sedentary dogs- I'm not a runner!

I also offer companionship and affection to help reduce any separation anxiety they may experience. Drop-in Visits: During drop-in visits, I visit the client's home at scheduled times to check on their pets. I ensure they have food and water, clean litter boxes, let dogs out for bathroom breaks, and spend quality time with them, offering play and affection. Dog Walking: For dog walking services, I take the dogs on stimulating walks to provide exercise, mental stimulation, and an opportunity for bathroom breaks. About: Growing up I do not remember a moment that my family did not have an animal in our household. I used to always want to spend my time with animals and always had that option. My mom was just as obsessed with animals as I was. There was a point in time that we had two cats and five dogs in the household. I love the connection that people can build with animals and the care that there is for each other. With all of these animals in our house, I got pretty accustomed to washing, feeding, walking, playing, etc with them. My stepdad bought a Rottweiler puppy when I was a teenager, so I was able to watch how he trained the dog and the phases they go through as puppies. Although, I do not own an animal of my own at the moment, I always enjoyed the times when my life had an animal in it. I would greatly enjoy to help others contribute to taking care of their animals with the extra time I have. I currently work part-time as a server with a flexible, open schedule. I would love to spend my free time giving love to all animals. I have a schedule that would allow me to be available to give care to your animals with walks, attention, feeding, and much more! Currently, I live in an apartment complex that does allow pets, but do not have any of my own at the moment. I have dog sat my family's animals for over the past few years, dealing with multiple dogs at once, cats, senior dogs. I would love to expand beyond my family's animals.

I have years of experience training and caring for dogs, which has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding that every dog has a personality all their own. Nine years ago, I lost my best friend, Rosco, my standard-size Yorkshire Terrier, at 16 years old. I still miss him tremendously. One of the ways I’ve chosen to honor the love and companionship he gave me is by spending my spare time caring for other dogs and giving them the same kind of attention and affection that meant so much to Rosco and me. I understand how stressful it can be to leave your pet with someone you don’t know well. I want you to be able to leave knowing your pet is in caring, attentive hands. I’m very hands-on and love spending plenty of one-on-one time with the animals in my care, whether that means playing, walking, relaxing together, or simply giving them the extra attention they’re accustomed to at home. And you won’t have to wonder how things are going while you’re away! Your pet won’t simply be “watched.” They’ll be cared for, talked to, loved on, and treated as though they were one of my own. 🐾 I have reached early retirement and would love the company of small, crate- and potty-trained dogs who desire a lot of care, love and attention. I live on the first floor of an apartment in a one-bedroom apartment that is a bit small to care for large dogs, so I will offer to keep the smaller dogs for 1-4 days, nights, overnights, or weekends. I am also available to stay in your home.
