“Misti is the BEST sitter I we’ve ever had. Our pets love her! We were gone for two weeks and she took great care of them. Attentive to their needs, took them on long walks, and even updated us on some eating habit changes. Our little void wasn’t eating as much as he usually does, she immediately let us know and we figured it out together. She is a GEM!!!”

“Laurie is amazing with the kitties! She cares about their wellbeing and takes great care when we are gone. She even goes the extra mile to make sure the outside kitties were warm, fed and well cared for. You can tell she takes great pride in what she does. I will request her anytime we need a cat sitter! She’s the best!”

“Kyle has been a huge help working with our dog who’s got behavioral issues to make sure that not only comforts us but with our own dog. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who’s seeking help with those who need that extra time for your pup to open up.”

“Megan took great care of our pets while we were gone. She sent photos of every time she came by for her check in! Will definitely use her again in the future. Thanks again, Megan!”

About: I have had many animals over the years. As I child, we had so many breeds of dogs. From Saint Bernard, Great Dane, and Bull Mastiff. To sheep dogs and small mixed breed dogs. We currently bace 1 cat, who is the chillest, sweetest cat I’ve ever known. We have 5 kids, who LOVE animals. Your sweet fur baby won’t even know you are gone, with all the love they would get at our house. I was laid off in 2024, so I am currently home with our toddler, while the big kids are at school. So your fur baby would have someone with them all day! We have a big fenced in yard, and a great neighborhood for walks! Your fur baby would be well loved in our care. I am currently home with our 1 year old daughter. My oldest are in school. We go to the gym a few times a week, and do some reselling on the side. But we are never gone for very long and can give your fur baby lots of love and attention. I have a fenced yard, with a 6 foot fence. So your fur baby will be safe! We have plenty of space to crate if needed. We also have a cat tree and lots of good hiding spots for more timid kitties.
“Theresa is a superstar!! We mistakenly gave her a key that didn’t work and she went above and beyond to get the correct key while we were out of town. Felt terrible that we had made such a big mistake but she was very reassuring that she wasn’t going to give up on our pets. She sent us a bunch of sweet pictures every day and a very detailed update that left us feeling at ease and sure that our pets were safe, cared for, and getting lots of attention. Great communication from start to finish, we felt like she took care of our little ones as well or better than friends/family!”

“Erin is the best! I received pictures and updates daily. She went above and beyond my expectations, and I will definitely be requesting her again! My little guy loved her!”

“Gabriella was very caring and kind to our puppy. She met with us in advance to make sure she knew all of our dogs needs and she was attentive to her during our time away. Communication was great.”

“Maddie was excellent! She was patient when I had last minute issues, and was very accommodating. She treated my kitties like they were her own! I came home to very content and well-cared for kitties. 10/10 recommend and would hire again!”

“Madeline has a heart on what she’s doing. She took really good care of our babies while we were out for vacation. She gives timely update. She even noticed the rash on our dog’s belly and got us notified right away.”

“I am so thankful that Virginia was able to take care of our rescue doggies in our home. They get scared when we take them to a kennel because they think we've returned them to the shelter. She takes amazing photos of our pets that I want to have printed. Our boys were happy and relaxed when we got back home. We are all very grateful for the care Virginia gives our pets!”

About: Hello! I have been a dog walker/sitter for 8 years and have taken care of several clients and their dogs, including relatives and neighbors. I am 18 years old, with a dog of my own and a huge passion for dogs, who is currently studying to be a veterinarian. Additionally, I take pride and excellence in letting dogs outside, cleaning up their messes, having high patience and tolerance, ability to withstand dog barking/scratching/biting etc, bathing, feeding, watering, and dog walking. I also give special attention to any additional needs a dog may have At this time, I am not working any part time or full time jobs. I am willing to support you and your pet family at any time and during any day. Based on your preferences, I can walk and sit your dogs at any frequency. Just let me know what works best for them and I will be willing to accommodate you When it comes to my neighbor’s, relative’s, and my own dog, I take care of them by putting food and water in their bowls once they run empty, taking them outside when they line up at the door or every 0-2 hours, giving them lots of pets, separating any dog that gets in a fight with their sibling using calm/safe measures, plenty of walks and a kind demeanor. Any dog that is in my care will be in good hands
“Riley cared for our dogs in our home while we were on vacation. I was completely comfortable with her having a key to our home and her ability to deal with our dogs that are high energy and anxious. She sent TONS of pictures and it was evident the dogs enjoyed her drop in visits. She’s dependable, communicates well, and is knowledgeable about dog behavior. I can’t say enough great things about her and am looking forward to her working with and walking the girls in the future!”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life and it seemed the family dogs always gravitated toward me. I can’t imagine life without them! I’ve been caring for other’s dogs ever since I got my drivers license. The first dog I watched for a family (a beautiful Alaskan husky) had diabetes and required diabetic shots twice a day. Even though it hurt to have to give him shots, I loved having the opportunity to care for dogs other than my own. Since then I’ve had the opportunity of being the go-to dog watcher for several families with several different dog (and cat) breeds. I will make every effort to give your dog the same care that I was able to give Skyler and the rest of the dogs I’ve had the great fortune of watching and taking care of. There’s not many things that give me more joy than spending time with dogs. Now that I have more time on my hands in my 30’s I have recently gotten connected with volunteering with KC Pet Project. Dogs deserve all the love in the world. I currently work from home Monday and Friday so in addition to the weekend, it opens up availability to be present for the doggie. I’m in the office Tuesday - Thursday but available for morning/evening and quick bathroom breaks over lunch. I have a fenced in backyard and ample space inside the house to make your dog comfortable. I can crate if needed, but also have rooms that can function as “dog” rooms for the periods when I need to leave the house. I have my own Belgian Malinois, who mostly does her own thing. :)
“Billie was so great! She was super easy to communicate with and made the entire process so easy. I love the pictures I received as well! Will definitely use again in the future :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Gladstone
Laurie always does a great job for us. She did two pop in visits for our dogs while we were out of town for the day. Her communication is excellent and she sent us several pictures. We will continue to use her whenever we need someone to check on our fur babies.

It took Sebastian barely a moment to get comfortable with Samantha! From the meet and greet, immediately demonstrated confidence and competence in knowing how to approach and interact with him, and watching him warm up to her more and more with each visit reaffirmed that I made the right choice as a first-timer to Rover! I will be requesting her services again without a doubt.

Meghan did a great job taking care of both of our did while we we're out of town! She did all of the necessary things plus she played, loved on and sent us great reports and pictures! 10/10 I would definitely recommend her and use her again next time we go out of town!

Grace does an amazing job with my crew. We have 2 Cane Corso mastiffs (one with high anxiety), a Boston Terrier (hello crazy energy), and 3 cats (one that takes meds and they all eat on a strict schedule). She has done in-home pet sitting for extended trips and also drop in visits as needed. Our animals are always cared for. Our animals trust her and that is huge with us feeling comfortable leaving them. We have never had any concerns with having Grace in our home alone. She is respectful of our house and rules we set. Grace is top notch when it comes to pet sitting and I will always highly recommend her!
Kayla was super kind and helped me out last minute. She also was willing to come over and meet the animals while I was there before helping me out. She did show up a little late, which made me nervous since I’m quite a ways away at work. I was hopeful she’d spend the full 30 mins with Tilly to run around the yard and wear her out since she’s just a new pup and is being kenneled all day and give her more time in case she needed to poop, but she did play with her for a short bit.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
