“Was worried since this was a first time visiting this house with Milo and Maui but they looked so comfortable! I was so happy to see my cats and Lenny was so sweet and caring. Both my cats were able to have seperate rooms which was also so great.”

“Billy is hands down the Dog Whisperer — and that headline is no exaggeration! He’s the best of the best. My 5-month-old Maltipoo puppy, Einstein, was treated like royalty while my family and I were away on holiday. Billy kept us smiling the whole trip with constant pictures and videos of Einstein — whether it was him strutting around the park, enjoying his meals, or just being his playful self. It honestly felt like Einstein was on his own little vacation! Billy even went the extra mile by gently removing some knots from his fur and washing his things before giving him back to us. He was super polite with my whole family, always cheerful, and gave us updates whenever we asked (sometimes a couple of times a day). Einstein got plenty of walks, playtime, and cuddles — it was obvious he was being cared for as if he were Billy’s own pup. On top of all that, Billy’s rates are very competitive, which makes the level of care he provides feel like an incredible find. We’ll 100% be booking him again as repeat clients. If you want someone who will love your pup like family, look no further — Billy really is the Dog Whisperer! 🐾✨”

“Samantha was great! We communicated every day that we were away. She would give us a daily morning text to let us know how our pups spent the night. Felt very comfortable leaving our dogs and plan on using her again when we take another trip later this month.”

About: I provide structured, attentive dog care in a calm home environment where dogs feel safe, understood, and well-managed. Because I work from home, your dog will have consistent supervision throughout the day. I focus on reinforcing calm behavior and clear boundaries so dogs can settle quickly — especially when they’re in a new space away from their guardians. I grew up with a cocker spaniel my family rescued from an abusive home, which taught me early on the importance of patience and understanding a dog’s emotional state. As an adult, I cared for an active young pit bull for two years, which deepened my experience working with different temperaments and energy levels. I’m now a proud dog mom to a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lucky, who is well-socialized, gentle, and respectful of other dogs’ space. He helps create a calm, balanced environment for visiting dogs. Our day typically starts between 7–8am with outdoor time in the backyard, followed by breakfast and a relaxed start to the day. Because I work from home, dogs are never left alone for long periods and can settle into a steady, predictable routine. I live in a quiet, low-traffic area in a ranch-style home with very few stairs — ideal for dogs of all ages, including seniors. My home includes a fully fenced half-acre backyard for safe outdoor time and fresh air.

About: I have had dogs my whole life from small to large breeds. Pet sitting for neighbors, friends and family for years. In addition to dogs I also have years of experience caring for exotic pets & reptiles. I had lizards, snakes, geckos, turtles and I am comfortable managing specialized diets, lighting & humidity control. Feel free to message me to discuss custom pricing on reptile boarding. Home all the time to spend playing in yard, going on long walks and caring for your pup. Looking forward to becoming your dog’s new best friend. I also have years of experience caring for reptiles. I have a fenced in yard with pool. I also have a very friendly 13 year old wheaten terrier. Plenty of space outside and frequent walks and playtime.
About: My home was set up for an 80lb dog with a fenced in yard and areas around the house. Should be very comfortable for any dog. I’m very attentive to the pets, making sure their needs are met and that they are safe and sound. When I take on a job, my schedule is pretty cleared out for it since I’m a retired person. I can schedule my time around the care of your pet. I care for pets in my home by keeping an eye on them. Taking them out into the fenced yard and walking them twice a day. If they like to play fetch or tug I’ll do that with them too. I keep them fed, watered, exercised and rested.
“Eduardo took great care of my big personality dachshund! I needed last minute care and they were so quick and responsive. They sent photos during the stay and my pup had a great time! Will definitely use them in the future!”

“Margaret is so nice and made us feel comfortable right away. She kept us updated on our pup throughout the stay. She’s very good with communication, confirmed the stay and answered us right away. We would definitely have our dog stay with her again.”

“Leo had a great time with the wonderful family. He loved the company of the kids so much I think he was slightly resisting to come with me when I went to pick him up. Got very regular updates along with pics and we would keenly look forward to them. Thank you again for being wonderful hosts for Leo and taking care of him so nicely.”

About: I love all animals, even reptiles! When I was a teenager I worked at a kennel for a summer job and fell in love with every breed of dog. I’ve had dogs, cats, rabbits and small critters my entire life and even backyard chickens! My current pup is a senior boxer/Shepard mix. I am comfortable giving medication and caring for senior and special needs pets. I have a full time job so am available for pet care in the evenings and on weekends. I work local so if pet sitting at my house, I can check in at lunch time. I have a fenced in backyard and crates if needed. My senior dog is chill and is great with dogs and cats if caring for you pet in my home. For short stays, pets usually do best in their own home with visits from me up to three times a day depending on their needs.
“Would highly recommend Yvette as a dog sitter! I left my 11 year old dog Ziggy with her for a week while I was on vacation and I could tell from the daily pictures and videos that she sent me how much Ziggy felt like he was at home. Normally when I get back from a trip Ziggy is overly excited to see me but he was calm and happy when I picked him up which I think speaks to how much he was cared for and how at ease he felt all week. We will definitely be returning clients, thank you Yvette!!!”

“Meghan was perfect for watching our cat for an extended stay! She gave us updates with pictures and videos. We felt she was safe and happy with Meghan. We will absolutely reach out again when we need a babysitter!”

“Jessica did great job in taking care of Rocky and made sure Rocky had a comfortable stay. She was extremely helpful & was flexible to accommodate our schedule. Really appreciated.”

“Jaime was absolutely amazing with my dogs! They loved her so much. This was my first time leaving my dogs, and I was very nervous. Jaime made me feel comfortable, she sent me pics throughout my trip and kept me informed on what they were up too. I will definitely be using Jaime again and I highly recommend her!!!”

“I had such a wonderful experience with Harleny! She took amazing care of my dog, Saga, and treated her like one of her own. Saga received so many cuddles and had an absolutely great time while in her care. Harleny kept us updated throughout, which gave us so much peace of mind, and she was incredibly accommodating when we needed to make some last minute changes. We’re so grateful for her kindness and flexibility she showed Saga. Highly recommend her!”

About: I am a father of 2 & 4-legged kids and the go-to dogsitter for friends and family. I am reliable and my schedule is flexible. I am the primary caregiver of my son when he's not in school. The rest of my schedule is often flexible, especially with advance notice. Having been a dog owner for more than 10 years, I am skilled in head scritches and belly rubs, and am not scared of slobbery kisses or getting dog hair on my clothes.
“Rosemery was excellent with my King Charles cavalier!. It was my first time using the app and leaving my three year old dog with someone who wasn’t family. She was amazing with keeping in touch and sending pictures. My dog looked so happy and comfortable to be cared for by her. I would highly recommend her and will def use her again in the future!!”

“Gerry is the best. We just left our puppy with her for his first overnight stay and he was received with lots of love and attention. Would definitely recommend Gerry to others.”

Adrienne is such a gem! I highly recommend her!!! She loved my Luna cat as if she were her own, which really put my mind at ease during a week-long vacation. I boarded Luna at Adrienne’s home, and she made my angel feel so comfortable that after just a couple of days, Luna was cuddling and sleeping with her 🥹🤍 Adrienne is very respectful of an animal’s pace, knowledgeable about cats, incredibly transparent, and sends lots of pictures and thorough updates. I never had to wonder how Luna was doing or what was going on. I felt like she was genuinely loved and cared for the entire time. I’m so grateful we found her and will absolutely be booking with her again soon!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
