“Danielle did a remarkable job sitting Basil over the holiday weekend. Basil was very well taken care of and was sad to leave when I came to pick him up. Danielle was also incredibly flexible; she allowed us to pick up Basil at a different date / time than we previously agreed upon. I couldn’t recommend Danielle enough :)!!”

About: Hi, I have a westie and love dogs. I’ve had dogs my whole life. I have a backyard and even take my dog to work with me. Happy to make new doggie pals. Open to other pets potentially too. I have backyard chickens in a separate fenced area, but lots of fun for dogs to watch. My kids are age 4 and 5 and I have them on weekends, so depending on when you book my kiddos might be home too. I let my dog roam free in the house at all times. On weekends I’m home and I have a backyard and we can do walks. On weekdays I do work 9-5 as a lawyer but I work at a dog friendly office so I bring my dog to work with me. I have a fenced yard and lots of love to give doggies. Lots of pets and treats if permitted. I’m pretty lazy on weekends so will cuddle your dog a lot.
“Mary was great with our dogs. They had lots of cuddle time, their favorite! They had friends to play too. During drop off Pickle was nervous but Mary helped her feel much better giving her some extra love. Pierogi found the coziest bed and made herself right at home. The puppies were happy & healthy at pick up. Thanks for loving our babies!”

“Michelle was great watching my standard poodle over a weekend. She kept him active and happy, while keeping us updated with photos/video so we knew how he was doing. I would board with her again, and would recommend her to others!”

“Mark was an excellent person for our dog Maggie. He was completely attentive to her needs and followed our instructions for her. She was able to settle in at his home as though she were at ours. We definitely plan to have Mark sit Maggie again in the future if needed. We highly recommend Mark for anyone who might need his service . Thank you for the great care you gave to our dog Maggie!”

“Mark was an amazing Rover for our dog! He gave her plenty of exercise and attention and sent several update photos over the course of the day. His backyard was perfect for Penny to run around and he was the perfect care taker for our fur baby!”

“Bob was wonderful to our nervous little pup! He made sure she was well taken care of and she felt very much at home at his place. Would definitely have her stay again!”
About: I have experience with dogs of all ages. I have grown accustomed to a range of feeding, walking, grooming and play schedules and also have experience administering medication. I can handle dogs around other pets, acting to keep everyone involved comfortable and safe. I have lots of free time after classes and only a part time work schedule in the summer. I am able to make time morning, afternoon and night! Until August 15th, I will be living with two roommates. One of which have a cat and a dog who are very friendly. I aim to keep boarding to a minimum until I move into my new space where I will have a lot more room and there would be no. concern with pets interacting and living with other pets that they do not know.
“Mary was so accommodating and kind. She clearly understands dogs, and helped my dog Bryn to fit in with her pack. Her home and yard are perfect and safe for happy & healthy dogs. It was my first time using Rover and she made the process very easy for me. (I was very nervous). Thank you Mary and family! -Peggy and Bryn”

“We had a wonderful initial meet and greet with Carol. Our dog doesn't take to everyone but immediately took to Carol. We dropped our dog off feeling very good about Carol. While we were away Carol sent pictures of our dog relaxing on the couch looking very happy and healthy. When we returned our dog was obviously happy to see us. Carol said the two of them had a nice time together. I would definitely recommend Carol and we will use her again in the future when needed.”

“Carolina took amazing care of my dog for the weekend. She communicated frequently with updates and photos. My dog was well-exercised and happy throughout the whole day. I would recommend Carolina and hope to use her again. Thank you, Carolina!”

Jessica was great! She took great care of my big guy (95 LB Mastiff/Hound mix) Frankie, taking him on several walks a day as well as making sure he got his daily medication. I received updates everyday that included pictures and videos. Frankie did have some separation anxiety but Jess made sure to spend lots of time with him to make him feel comfortable. Couldn't recommend her more!

Jess is the best and takes care of my dog the way I would. I know he is in great hands when staying with her and I feel completely at ease. This last time she even administered his eye drops without any issues and I’m beyond grateful for her 💗 Chexy can’t wait to see you again!! Thank you 😊

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
