“We left our 75 pound lap dog for 9 days and I think he had more fun than we did. He had lots of fun playing with other dogs and looking out their front window. Received pictures every day reassuring us he was being well taken care of. Meg and her family took great care of Rocco. I would definitely use them again if I could get another family vacation!”

“Linda was wonderful and watched our 1 year old dog while we vacationed for the week. She took the time to send plenty of photos and took our dog on many fun walks around the neighborhood each day! Our dog was a rescue and tends to be very nervous and cautious in new situations. Linda took extra care to make sure he was happy and comfortable each day. I highly recommend booking with Linda!”

“Patricia did a Great job caring for my Reese’s. He enjoyed his time there. Making friends with other dogs big and small. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommend”

“Michelle was wonderful with Koda and a great relief for me leaving my dog while I was out of the country for a week. I would recommend her to any dog parent. She sent daily pictures and my dog was healthy and happy. She will be my first choice the next time I cannot take my dog with me.”

“Christine was absolutely wonderful with Lilly during her 3-night stay! She was so diligent about sending regular updates and pictures, which gave me total peace of mind. She treated her as her own and Lilly looked so happy in every photo and came home calm and relaxed. Christine genuinely cares for pets, and I highly recommend her! I will definitely be a return customer.”

“We recently left our little guy Leo with Karen for a few days and I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience it was. She has a perfect home and backyard for a small breed dog and Karen kept us up to date daily on what Leo was up to. I highly recommend her services She is caring, kind and we will definitely use her services again in the future.”

About: Dog lover and proud Cockapoo mom! I have a 4-year-old Cockapoo and grew up with dogs, so caring for them comes naturally to me. I’m home all day and can provide 2–3 walks, playtime, attention, and plenty of cuddles. Your dog will be treated like family and cared for in a safe, loving environment. I’m home all day and have a flexible schedule, so your dog will not be left alone. I provide 2–3 walks daily, regular potty breaks, playtime, and lots of attention throughout the day We live in a clean, pet-friendly townhouse with a small backyard. While the yard is not fenced, all outdoor time is supervised, and dogs receive regular walks throughout the day.
“I would highly recommend Shanice! I was so relaxed throughout my holiday because our two dogs were in good hands during their stay. I could tell they had a good time walking & playing regularly. She gave friendly, quick communication with regular updates & photos. Thank you so much! Will rebook!”

About: I provide a calm, quiet, and low-stress home environment that’s great for dogs who prefer a more relaxed setting. My home is kid-free and male-free, and I only take pets I know I can give plenty of attention and care to. I like dogs more than people so they are treated like part of the family here. The doggies can relax freely around the house, get lots of outdoor time, play, walks, and snuggles. I also have experience caring for shy and nervous dogs since my own dog can be timid in new situations. I’m patient and understand that some dogs need extra time to feel comfortable and safe. Since I’m a teacher, I’m very responsible, organized, and used to keeping routines and paying attention to individual needs. I've been dog sitting for 5 years now. Reach out if you have any questions! I work full time as a teacher, so I have a very structured routine that works well for pet care. I leave around 7:10 and am home by 2:45 on most days. Over the summer I only work 4 days a week 8-12. I’m a homebody and spend most nights and weekends at home with my dog. I don’t like leaving my dog alone for more than 6–7 hours, so any dog staying with me would get plenty of attention, time outside, and companionship. Daily walks, playtime, and outdoor time are already part of my normal routine, especially since my dog loves to play catch and relax outside. I provide a calm, safe, and loving environment where dogs can feel comfortable and at home. I have a fenced-in backyard for supervised outdoor play and daily walks can also be provided. Dogs are allowed to freely relax around the house and are treated like part of the family. I also have a medium-sized crate available if needed. I do have my own dog who is 3.5 years old. He’s very laid back, enjoys naps, hanging out, and playing outside. We spend a lot of time outside playing catch and getting exercise. My home is kid-free and male-free, so it’s usually very quiet and low stress for dogs that prefer a calmer environment. I truly love animals and treat them with the same care and attention I give my own dog. I like dogs better than people so they will be treated very well.
“Gabby took such good care of our puppy! It was our first time leaving her anywhere for a family vacation. The whole time she kept us updated with pictures and videos. She was so well taken care of and had so much fun. We will definitely be using again! So very caring of our fur baby all week!”

“Very pleased with my experience. My dog Astro was well taken care of and I received lots of updates and video throughout my trip. I would absolutely book again and am about to lock in new dates for my next trip”

About: I have cared for puppies, as well as adult dogs and aging dogs. I love them all and they all sense it when I meet them. I am retired, so I have a lot of time and a very flexible schedule. Also, I am up very early in the morning, and like getting an early start. I have a partially fenced yard, so would be more comfortable with your dog n a leash or inside the house if at my home.
“Mark was perfect for my fur babie he’s 14 and moves a little on the slow side sometimes. Mark was very patient And Keisel came home in great shape. Will definitely Use Mark again . My wife couldn’t be happier with him.”

Jessica was great! She took great care of my big guy (95 LB Mastiff/Hound mix) Frankie, taking him on several walks a day as well as making sure he got his daily medication. I received updates everyday that included pictures and videos. Frankie did have some separation anxiety but Jess made sure to spend lots of time with him to make him feel comfortable. Couldn't recommend her more!

Jess is the best and takes care of my dog the way I would. I know he is in great hands when staying with her and I feel completely at ease. This last time she even administered his eye drops without any issues and I’m beyond grateful for her 💗 Chexy can’t wait to see you again!! Thank you 😊

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
