“Kendall is the BEST! I can’t recommend her enough! From the very beginning, she has gone above and beyond in caring for my dog. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and treats the dogs under her care like her own. She is so reliable and organized, communicative, and thoughtful. I always receive great updates and photos, which gives me so much peace of mind while I’m away. She also takes extra time to make sure my dog is comfortable, happy, and well exercised, and even brings her bones. We are lucky to have Kendall in our life!”

“I think Charlize has a new best friend, because she wasn’t as excited to see me after a week away with Asal dropping in! Asal is a real pro and gave me peace of mind while I was away for the holidays, with her very thorough updates and photo shoots with Charlize. We can’t wait to book her again!”

About: I have always been a dog mom, but in 2021 I adopted a cat too who had seizures. With over 15 + years of experience caring for my own pets and nurturing strays and community animals back in India, i bring genuine compassion, patience and deep understanding to pet boarding/ sitting. Its not just a service - its a heartfelt connection. Your pets will be treated like family, because that is how i have always cared for mine. I am not working at the moment so I have plenty of time to on-board pets at my place and look after them 24/7 . I live in a comfortable one bed apartment in Herndon. I have a great community where i can take the pet for a walk as well. I am very well versed with feeding pets and giving medicines if any. I am happy to board pets while parents are travelling. I will be sharing timely pictures with the pet parents of their fur babies and keep them updated. I make sure to follow care instructions carefully. I also get on greet and meet calls or set up direct meetings with pet parents to know them and their pets ( whatever suits the parents)
“Anna is very sweet and attentive to the pets in her care (two cats). She sends regular updates and great pics, and responds immediately to any messages. 100% reliable and responsible. I’ll be using her exclusively and recommending her to friends and neighbors”

“Nikki was great! She was able to stop by fairly last minute to let our dog out for a short walk. She was also kind enough to come over for a short meet-and-greet beforehand so that our dog would be familiar with her. If another time comes where we need a drop-in sitter, we’ll absolutely be using Nikki again!”
“Kaitlin was amazing! She took care of my two cats for a week and a half while I was away. They were very well taken care of, and Kaitlin sent lots of pics and updates. Would highly recommend!”

“We had to travel unexpectedly for a family emergency and Laura was able check in with Lucy on such short notice. We ended up extending our trip twice and Laura was very kind to continue watching Lucy. During this difficult time, it was so nice to know that Lucy was being cared for and to know I didn’t have to worry about her. Thank you so much, Laura!”

“Even though she came in for a simple drop in visit as I was out of the house the whole day, she still did a phenomenal job with feeding the animals, administering my cats specific medication, and walking my dog around the neighborhood! I also have a pet toad in which she helped feed him as well:) All in all, i recommend booking her for your pets!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was in middle school and love spending time with them! I love having conversations with them and learning their personalities :( I currently work a full time job and I am only available on weekends. My weekends are typically completely free so my schedule is very flexible and I can be an early riser or a night owl! I am used to having to give space when they are anxious or being high energy to match their excitement. I always approach them with a soft tone to know that they are safe and I love giving treats to win their hearts over!
“Manasa is so sweet and thorough in caring for my babies! She asked questions before, during, and after to ensure all their needs (and mine) were met. She promptly notified me when they were not on their best behavior. The picture updated really provided me with a peace of mind and I’ve already booked her for my next pet care. Thank you again so much for everything!”

“Paige was great. She sent good feedback about how our little one was doing while we were gone. She spent time with her and sent some great photos. We would highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter.”

“Chelsea is really terrific! Our cats are super comfortable with her. Chelsea goes above and beyond to meet their/our needs and we are so grateful she has been available for repeat bookings. She is a great choice!”

“Derek was so great with my senior kitty! Usually my senior cat is really desperate for attention when we get back, but he was great and clearly engaged with. Also having the knowledge he could pill my cat if needed was really comforting”

Ashleigh took incredible care of my cat, Gus! She was kind, communicative and thoughtful. I was worried to leave my cat with a sitter for the first time- she provided through updates that put me at ease and did great with his “spicy and sweet” personality. 10/10 💌

I couldn’t recommend Elisabeth more! Our cat is very picky and takes a while to get used to new people. Elisabeth always go above and beyond to help make Sage comfortable and that helps us enjoy our time away more! She always treats Sage to treats, play time, and extra love. She is always on time and someone we can rely on for our trips. She always includes pictures, details of the visit, and lets us know how Sage is doing. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Cecily was wonderful as always! This was the third time I trusted her with my cat, Laila, and she consistently goes above and beyond. She is kind, attentive, and truly cares for Laila like her own. I highly recommend Cecily to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Floris. On Rover:

- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
