“Derek and Cheryl took great care of our aging beagle, Michelle, while we were out of town. It was short notice but they were flexible with their time friendly throughout the process of booking her stay. They provided daily photos and updates on how she was doing and were quick to respond to any questions we had. Michelle was more than happy with Derek and Cheryl’s care and so were we! Would highly recommend!”

“This was our first time boarding at a Rover's house and Carolyn and family were a great fit for our senior girl with medication needs. She was very communicative with us and quickly troubleshooted an issue with us. We would definitely have our pup stay here again.”
“6 stars!! I just started using Rover and can’t believe my great luck. Aastha was so incredible with my dog. She sent texts and videos and was so loving to my dog. She walked him on a regular schedule and of course has a fenced yard to run around in. Aside, from the great care, she and her family made me feel so welcome in their home. Her family is just so kind. I highly recommend Aastha for all your dog sitting needs!!!”

“Nalleli and her family welcomed my baby girl Sinder like one of the family! It gave me the peace of mind during my travels and I would definitely recommend trusting her with your fur babies! I got many photos and updates and she was super happy and loved! Thank you Nalleli!”

“This is our second time leaving our furbaby, Peach, with Poornima and she did a wonderful job looking after her! Poornima sent pictures, videos, and updates throughout the day which we really appreciated. Her dog, Arjun (also lovingly known as Joe!!), is very sweet and the best pup friend Peach could ask for. We highly recommend Poornima as she is an amazing and attentive sitter!!!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Baxter received from Ray! Since this was our first time leaving Baxter with Ray, we were a little nervous, especially since Baxter was staying for only two days. But Ray immediately made us feel comfortable and reassured us that Baxter was in good hands. Throughout his stay, Ray kept us updated with pictures and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was wonderful seeing Baxter looking happy, relaxed, and comfortable. Ray was attentive to his needs, gave him plenty of love and attention, and made sure he was well cared for. When we picked Baxter up, he was happy and completely at ease, which told us everything we needed to know. We could tell he had a great time and was genuinely cared for. Thank you, Ray, for taking such wonderful care of Baxter and making his first stay with you such a positive experience. We truly appreciate the updates, love, and attention you gave him. We’re so glad we found someone we can trust, and we would definitely book with you again!”

“Hoa is an amazing caretaker. Her passion for caring for senior dogs is evident. She is conscientious, responsive, and timely, and was diligent in administering medication to my dog as requested. She also kept Hallie active, providing plenty of walks and outdoor activity. I would be happy to use Hoa’s services again.”

“Wonderful experience. Felt instantly at ease in our conversations leading up to me dropping my ‘only son’ off! Covey was excited and well looked after. Apparently even spoiled with bits of turkey - which Angela was professional and kind enough to enquire about before she gave it to him. I would definitely recommend her and you will get lots of pictures and updates throughout the day. She is polite, calm and has an obvious love for dogs and that is what we needed and what we got. Very grateful for her.”

“Guojin was great with daily photo/video updates, and my dog seemed very relaxed, comfortable in all the pics sent (: highly recommend Guojin for multi-night pet sitting!”

“Always amazing! Lots of photos and videos and very communicative. I was running behind for my scheduled pickup and she was extremely understanding. Eun is my go to sitter! And she's SO sweet.”

About: Leaving your dog with someone else can feel like a big deal! I’ll make sure they’re safe, loved, and in good hands. I’ve been caring for dogs for many years and have experience with the day-to-day responsibilities that come with having a pet. I’m patient and attentive to each pet’s individual personality and needs, and I want them to have the best time while they’re in my care! Whether your pup wants a good walk, some playtime, or simply a lot of love and attention, I’ll meet them where they are. I have a pup of my own: a blue heeler/pomsky mix, so I’m no stranger to energetic personalities and their little quirks! If you’re looking for someone who will give your dog plenty of care, attention, and love, I’d love to meet you both! I’ll also be sure to send many updates throughout their care. I’m primarily available on weekends (Friday evening to Sunday), with some weekday evening availability depending on the day. I’m happy to work around your dog’s usual routine and make sure they get the attention, exercise, and care they need while you’re away. Whether you need someone for a walk, a drop-in visit, or weekend dog sitting, I’d be happy to help! I live in a townhouse with a small, unfenced yard, as well as a large grassy area and plenty of walking paths nearby for walks, sniffs, and exploring. I also have my dog, Peter, so our dogs will be sharing a home together! While I’m sitting, I’ll be home with the dogs most of the time, if not all, aside from the occasional short errand when needed. I’ll always follow your instructions and your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at home. When caring for your pup in their home, I would love to take them for walks, stay in for some playtime and cuddles, or simply follow whatever routine and activities they enjoy the most!
“Peter took excellent care of our pup. He sent great photos, and it’s clear that Donny feels exceptionally comfortable around him. Drop off and pickup were easy. We will definitely be entrusting Donny’s care to Peter again. Thank you!!”

“It was clear from the moment we met that Alana loves dogs and all animals. She was so kind and went out of her way to send pictures and videos. Would absolutely use her again if we were staying local. :) Highly recommend.”
“Lisa took excellent care of my dog Teddy. I was very nervous using rover for the first time but Lisa gave us a ton of updates. She made sure Teddy had lots of walks attention and ate well. She was an excellent communicator.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was young, especially terrier breeds, and I currently have a 12-year-old female English Bull Terrier. I raised her from just 8 weeks old, which gave me a lot of hands-on experience with puppies and a strong understanding of their needs, behaviors, routines, and energy levels. Because my current dog is now a senior, I also have experience providing senior dog care, including being patient with slower mobility, maintaining comfortable routines, giving extra attention, and understanding age-related needs. I know how important it is to create a calm, safe, and stress-free environment for older dogs. My dog is very friendly with other dogs, cats, and people, so I understand the importance of socialization, patience, and creating a loving environment for pets. I treat every dog like family and always focus on making them feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while their owners are away. I currently have a very flexible schedule because I am not working at the moment, so I have plenty of availability throughout the week. Because I have the flexibility to dedicate my time and attention to pets, I’m able to provide consistent care, regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, feeding, and companionship throughout the day. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I always focus on creating a safe, calm, and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and secure. I pay close attention to each pet’s routine, personality, energy level, and individual needs to help reduce stress while their owners are away. For active dogs, I provide regular walks, outdoor time, playtime, and engagement to help them stay happy and exercised. For puppies, I understand the importance of patience, supervision, consistency, and maintaining routines. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and understand the need for a slower pace, extra comfort, gentle care, and close attention to their mobility and behavior. I make sure pets have fresh water, are fed on schedule, receive plenty of attention and affection, and are always monitored for safety. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they can feel comfortable knowing their pets are being well cared for.
“Cassidy and her husband have taken care of our dog, Layla a few times now and it’s always been such a good experience! Layla is very well taken care of and seems very happy with them :-)”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Floris
Alicia and Joseph did a great job taking care of our dog. They responded quickly to texts and we received daily updates/photos. They were careful to follow our care instructions. I feel lucky that we found them and wouldn't hesitate to use them again next time we need a sitter.
As a repeat costumer, this was the 2nd time I used her and for an extended stay. The situation was a little different from the previous stay and Cookie and Vivian experienced challenges. Vivian did her best and exercised patience and powered through to understand and help Cookie as much as possible. She provided daily updates and included pictures and videos. Vivian continues to be our go-to sitter - thank you, Vivian!

We couldn’t ask for a better dog sitter! She is incredibly communicative and always sends tons of pictures and videos, which gives us so much peace of mind while we’re away. She treats our dogs like they’re her own, makes sure they get any medications they need right on schedule, and goes above and beyond to make them feel loved and comfortable. Honestly, it feels like our dogs get to go on their own vacation whenever we go on vacation! One of our dogs especially loves getting to play with her dog, which makes the experience even more special. It’s such a relief knowing our dogs are in such caring, capable hands. We couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Perry did great with Moo! She is very attentive and sent us lots of photos every day, all of which indicated that Moo was very comfortable and calm - a big deal for a dog with anxiety! Definitely a testament to how great of a sitter Perry is. Perry also managed a course of ear drops for us when we found out Moo had an ear infection the day we were scheduled to leave, which was extremely helpful! We’re very grateful to have found a sitter that made our girl so comfortable.

Nathalie is a fantastic sitter!! Our dog can be very anxious, but she warmed up immediately and had a great time. She took wonderful care of her, ensuring she ate even when hesitant and giving her plenty of outdoor play time. We will definitely be booking with her again 😊

Omar was fantastic with our two dogs during a two-week stay. He sent lots of photos throughout and kept us fully updated the entire time, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. He was consistently responsive to messages and clearly took great care of both dogs. We highly recommend Omar and will definitely book him again!

94% of sitters in Floris can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Floris.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
