“Jordyn has changed our dog for the better. Before Jordyn, our dog didn't sit on my lap except in the car. Now - he will, and lay on my tummy when I'm lying on the sofa. You brought out the best in Toledo and we are so happy. Toledo loves you - the moment you showed up for a walk Toledo's tail couldn't stop. Besides- you are always on time and wonderful to connect with. We are so glad we found you. ❤️”

About: I grew up on a farm so I've been surrounded by animals my entire life. I have experience with dairy operations, including milking, cleaning, and birthing goats. I also have experience caring for goats, horses, mini ponies, dogs, cats, small reptiles, birds, and guinea pigs. I have been pet sitting since I was 15 with all of the perviously mentioned animals. I also have experience in training horses as well as puppies. I also have experience working with a variety of aged animals, including seniors, so I am able to adapt to additional needs. I also have experience administering medication to a variety of different animals. I am looking for a part time position while I finish up my studies at UVM. I only have classes in the evening two nights out of the week. I can be flexible to drop by and hang out with your pet during the day, if it's better I can also hang out with your pet for most of the day if I can study with them! Also if you contact me with enough notice (~ 3 days) I will most likely be able to make time of the weekends to provide care! Typically I like to meet the pet while the owner is there to see their personality while they have the comfort of their owner there. Then I try and establish trust and connection with your critter while you are there so it won't be as scary when I return while the owner is away. I try and stick to the critter's normal routine, whether that's going for a walk, playing, or feedings at a certain time or in a certain manner to try and maintain their normal routine as much as possible.

About: My family has had pets for years-first a bunny, now cats, and we fostered a dog a few years ago. I’ve spent the last few years house/pet sitting in my hometown, and I’m now bringing my skills to Burlington in hopes to fund a spring semester abroad. I’ve cared for many animals before, from rambunctious puppies to a senior dog with arthritis in its final year of life. I love spending time outdoors and love my time even more when I get to share it with a furry friend! I’m a full time student at UVM with lots of free time I’d love to spend with your pet. MWF I have class for 2 hours a day, and TTh I have class for 3 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. As much as I love living in a shoebox of a dorm, I’m also available for house sitting jobs as well! I try to care for pets exactly as their owner would. I like to meet the pet with the owner the first time, so they can meet me with a “trusted adult” as it helps build rapport with the animals. I meet them and their needs wherever they’re at: whether they’re excited and want to play or simply lay around all day, I’m happy to join in.

About: Growing up, I always had dogs and cats. Personally, I have a 16 year-old cat named Muffin, who I've raised since the day she was born and a 4 year-old cat named Beans that I adopted two years ago. I also rescued a stray senior and sickly cat and provided care to her (daily medication, bathing, grooming, special food) for a year and a half until her passing 3 years ago. I have experience petsitting for friends and family, and I am comfortable walking, feeding, and playing with pets. I work partially from home and I am currently available around lunchtime and after 5 pm during the week. I am available most weekends any time of day. I live in an apartment and cannot bring any pets into my home, but I will be able to care for your pet in your home, which will provide security and comfort for your pet.

“As new dog parents, we were nervous to have someone else help with our senior pup. Brooke was great! She communicated well before, during and after and was very reliable. Looking forward to having her come again!”

About: I grew up with three dogs, worked as a pet sitter for a small business for a few years, picked up some training methods for both puppies and older dogs, and recently graduated with a bachelors of science in Wildlife biology! I work very part-time at the moment, and am happy to make my schedule work around you and your pets! Give me a time and a place and I’ll be there! My number one goal is to make your pet feel as comfortable and safe as possible whilst you’re away. If that means spending extra time with them during my visits than I’m more than happy to oblige!

“Marissa helped out with some dog walking for me while I was away. She was excellent with my pup and flexible with my schedule and coordinated with my housesitter which was much appreciated. Recommended!”

About: Hi! I'm a pre-vet student at UVM with a lifelong passion for animals and hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages and sizes. Back home, I help care for my family's pack of four pups — a sweet Yorkie and three energetic Dachshunds (ages 13 to just 7 months). I've also raised cats and hope to one day have a Golden Retriever and Australian Shepherd of my own! Whether your dog needs a midday walk, weekend company, or just some extra love while you're away, I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a future-vet’s dedication to every visit. I’m looking to build even more experience with animal care during the school year, and would love to be part of your pet’s routine! Let’s chat — I’d love to meet your furry family! I’m currently a full time student, but I have pretty much all of the day available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and full availability on the weekends! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, their safety and comfort are always my top priorities. At home, I have a fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and I’m experienced with using kennels when needed — especially for puppies who benefit from structure. I always make sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, and love, including regular walks and playtime. I’m also confident transporting pets in the car, making sure they’re secure and calm. I treat every animal like my own, and I’m committed to creating a stress-free, loving environment wherever they are.

“Lou is great. He's flexible and is great with my big Malamute and Bernese. I work long shifts every once in a while and I have no doubt that they'll be fine while I'm at work when Lou comes over to take them for a walk.”

“Beatrice walks our Bernie daily - great communication with us - and we are new pet owners so texting her constantly! We have been working with her for over a month now and feel really lucky to have found her.”

Essex Junction dog parents share their Rover experiences
Jamie was a hit with our rescued pup, Jax. Jamie provided daily walks and by the second day Jax had figured out the schedule and was eagerly waiting at the door for Jamie's arrival. We appreciated how Jamie made an extra effort to reinforce Jax's leash-walking skills and to provide him opportunities to meet other dogs and people on the walking path. It was super-easy to communicate with Jamie and she let us know how each walk went. We highly recommend Jamie for pet care and we look forward to engaging her again.

Kat is the best!! Responsible, punctual, and has the nicest personality. Wonderful to chat with! My dog Leila absolutely adores her as well and enjoyed her walks and socialization very much. I would definitely hire her again and highly recommend to anyone else in need of dog care!
