“Lindsay was so great to work with! Our Poodle Pippa had major surgery a week prior so my wife and i were nervous about leaving her with someone new (she’s get too excited and tear her stitches) but when we met Lindsay we were immediately reassured. Very professional, pleasant, and responsible. Not to mention she did all of this on Thanksgiving! Highly recommend.”

About: I have taken care and walked neighbors/dogs within my area for the last three years, as an adult. Throughout childhood I was around pet-friendly households and have grown to love all types of animals, but especially, dogs. I am a teacher and high school coach. My hours and schedule is pretty flexible outside of 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. I do have a break within the day where I am capable of feeding or walking the dog at hand. I live in a very spacious, new apartment. I do not have a fenced yard, but the dog will never come off the leash (unless instructed to otherwise). I am a personable and friendly guy who gets along with both people and dogs!
“Tina is so kind and loving to your fur babies! Tina communicated with us leading up to our booking date to confirm every piece of information she could and even throughout the time spent with our boys! She sent so many photos and was so thoughtful in the process. Run, don’t walk and book Tina!! 😭”

“Zoe was great with my Charlie! As a new puppy I was a little nervous leaving him alone to run errands and my doctors appointments, she was able to pick up the shift last minute and Charlie was well taken care of. Highly recommended!”

“Amanda is friendly, courteous and reliable. she took very good care of our two dogs during her visit and interacted with us throughout. we would not hesitate to use her again.”

About: I’ve been caring for my own dog for 13 years, giving me experience with every stage of a dog’s life, from puppyhood to senior care. Since my dog has dietary restrictions and health complications, I’m comfortable following specific routines and providing individualized care with patience and attention to detail. I’ve also cared for friends’ and family members’ dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m currently home from college for the summer and working part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule to provide attentive care for your dog. While my weekly availability may vary, I’m happy to be flexible and work with you to find times that fit your schedule. My goal is to make pet care as convenient and stress-free as possible for you and your pet! Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’ll carefully follow your instructions, respect your home’s routines and rules, and adapt to any specific precautions or accommodations your dog may need.
“Johnny has done an amazing job with our dog and for us. He is responsible, prompt, and has great follow-up with the animal owner. With the dog he is kind, patient, and interactive. Great experience all around.”

About: I’ve dog sat for overnight stays for two years, and I have walked dogs consistently for the last three years! I also own two dogs and consistently take care of them. I’m a pre-veterinary medicine major in college! I would love to help you with your fur baby like I love my own! Starting August 22, I’ll be attending the University of Delaware and accepting pet care bookings within walking distance of campus. Since I won’t have a car, I’m currently available for clients I can safely walk to. If you’re nearby, I’d love to care for your pets! Feel free to book starting August 23rd!! I am very comfortable with animals and will have no issue keeping them under control! I can handle multiple at once as I have two of my own dogs at home!

About: For the past eight years, I’ve provided attentive dog walking and cat care for pets with a wide range of needs, personalities, and medical conditions. I’m committed to giving every pet patient, loving, and dependable care while making their safety, comfort, and happiness my highest priorities. After years in retail and banking, I chose to follow my passion for pet care and build a career centered on trust, compassion, and reliability. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, and I strive to give pet parents peace of mind through clear communication and consistent, thoughtful service. I'm available for dog walking and drop-in visits for dogs or cats, Monday through Friday between 8 am & 4 pm. I’m not usually available on weekends, however, if you’re in a bind and need a walk or a visit on a Saturday or a Sunday, and I have no plans that weekend, I most likely will be able to do it as long as it’s no later than 12 pm. For your dog's safety, dogs are prolific sniffers, inevitably putting things in their mouths that they shouldn't. I pay close attention to and keep a watchful eye on the ground to make sure your dog doesn't put anything in its mouth that can be harmful. In the unlikely event your dog or cat needs medical attention, I’m certified in cat and dog first aid by the American Red Cross.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Essex Fells
Tina was incredible. Our mini schnauzer is high wired and 12! But he was so happy and excited when we arrived home this evening after two days and three visits from Tina! Thank you so very much we will use you again and again and I advise all to do the same such a town at ease with all pictures and texts nonstop of our dog and Tina. Appreciative beyond.
Despite Charlie never coming out from under my bed, Blake showed up daily 2x/day to feed her, try to play, & ensure she had a clean litter box. I think Charlie would have had a pretty fun time, had she stuck her nose out just a little. Lots of funny pics of Charlie's eye &nose! 😁 I'd call Blake again -- he's a responsible cat- sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Essex Fells. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
