About: I’ve had cats and dogs most of my life, that's Stella, my 16 year old grand dame best girl in the photo with me. CATS: I've sat for my friend's cats, my daughter's cats and enjoy getting to know and love, oh and respect each cat's unique personality. I've cared for other senior cats, given I.V.'s and meds and lovingly helped kittens adjust to their new homes and their hooman's schedules. DOGS: I adore dogs and they love me! Enough said! I can't wait to meet your cat(s) and care for them in your home! I’m retired, so I have lots of available time to care for your fur-babies! I will feed, play, and snuggle with your cat or dog once or twice a day in your home as you and your pet prefer! After I've met you and your cat(s) or dog(s), and we've planned out your pet's schedule, I will visit your home and put fresh water and food in your cats' or dogs bowls, once or twice a day, walk your dog or scoop the litter box and dispose the waste outside your home, and most importantly, love on your most precious friend and have playtime, either once or twice a day, depending on you and your pet's needs.
About: I've been a pet owner since I was a child. In our 40+ year marriage, my wife and I have owned two Maltese, two Shelties, and two Shih Tzus. Each pair simultaneously. Intermittently during the last four decades, we have also owned cats. In addition, I took care of our daughter's Labrador mix for a year while she studied in Europe. And now, I fly to Austin, Texas when she vacations to care for her Great Pyrenees, a Chihuahua mix, and a cat. I currently manage the remnants of a company I founded from my basement office. My work typically occupies less than an hour daily and can be done outside regular business hours, so my pet care schedule is very flexible. I regularly walk our Shih Tzus around the neighborhood and, weather permitting, take them to a nearby dog park. I also play Fetch with them in the house and give them daily massages. I usually take one of the dogs with me when I run errands in the car.
About: The Best Part of Both Our Days After 20+ years in the corporate design leadership world, I am soft retiring and putting my reliability, commitment and energy into helping others and bringing happiness to their pets. With 10 years of dog walking and pet sitting experience, I don’t just show up. I show up for your dog, on their terms. Every dog is different, and I believe in honoring that. Whether your pup likes to stop and sniff every inch of the sidewalk or prefers a brisk, energetic stride, I walk at their pace because a great walk isn’t about the distance, it’s about the experience. I’m comfortable walking multiple dogs at a time, making sure every single one enjoys their walk, gets the attention they deserve and takes care of their business. From the energy of a curious puppy to the gentle needs of a senior dog, I understand that every stage of life comes with its own needs and I embrace all of them with patience and care. But it doesn’t stop at the leash. I genuinely love spending quality time with dogs, whether that’s a relaxed afternoon cuddle on the couch or an enthusiastic play session with their favorite toys. I take the time to learn what makes each dog feel happy, safe, and loved. When you book with me, you’re not just hiring a dog walker or pet sitter. You’re giving your dog their favorite part of the day and honestly, mine too. What I offer: •🐾 Dog Walking at your dog’s pace, never rushed •🏠 Pet Sitting calm, attentive and home-like •🎾 Playtime & Chill Visits toys, attention and all the love •🐶 Puppy & Senior Care patient, experienced and always attentive Your pet is family. I’ll treat them that way! I work a flexible part time schedule three days a week, which means I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pet. I’m happy to work around your routine and adjust my schedule to meet your dog’s needs because your peace of mind matters just as much as their happiness. Whether your dog is most comfortable in their own home or joining me at mine, they will always receive the same attentive, personalized care. At my place, they are welcomed into a calm, quiet home with a fully fenced yard and a friendly 5 year old 25lb Australian Labradoodle who loves making new friends. Your dog’s comfort and happiness always comes first, wherever that may be.
“I fell on the ice and messed up my knee so I needed someone to walk my dog at the last minute. Kiah so kindly filled in for me with my “must-have-a-walk” Dalmatian. Poppy was SO happy to see Kiah for her second walk already, which told me that I made a good choice. Thank you so much for helping me out in a pinch! Poppy and I will definitely be in touch again!”

“Shannon did a great job with walking our dog, Keba. Keba was so excited to meet her! Although Keba was initially hesitant to walk away from the house with her, Shannon gave her a few of our dog treats and Keba happily walked along. The picture Shannon sent with Keba’s huge smile on her face says it all. I highly recommend Shannon for dog walking and connecting with your pup. We’ll definitely have Shannon walk Keba again.”

“Charles has been absolutely amazing with our leash & stranger reactive dog Ollie. He has been patient and accommodating with us and now Ollie is excited to see him when they go on walks!”

“Carla was fantastic. She came to my hotel while on vacation so Cuervo could get some exercise and attention while I did the tourist thing! She kept me updated with photos and texts and was flexible with scheduling. Highly recommended”

“Kiirsten was absolutely amazing with our process! She was kind, attentive, and made sure she got plenty of exercise and love. We received updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“Kayla was a life saver for me this past week! I typically work from home but was traveling for work - so Kayla came over during the workdays to take Barley for a walk. She was flexible, responsive, and loving towards my two-year-old golden. She even offered to bring Barley a raincoat when it was raining one day the days! I will definitely be using Kayla again on my next work trip!”

About: My husband and I have a toddler and two dogs. Cosmo a 3 year old Schnauzer Poodle and Bunny, 12 year old Maltipoo. I never had pets growing up so when I got my late dog Gizmo 18 years ago I dove head first into research, books, forums etc. Just so I would have the best tools for my new pet. I'm so happy I took the time to educate myself. I work from home Monday through Friday. I have flexibility to pop over for a 20-30 walk during the day. In my home we let our dogs out every three hours of so for a potty break. My goes to school M-F so there is no concern of taking care of dogs that aren’t kid friendly. I have a fenced backyard. I have two friendly dogs at home. 8 lbs and 6 lbs. I would prefer to pet sit in my home but I am flexible to pet sit in someone else's home.
“Lily did a great job with Evie, including dealing with some unexpected separation anxiety. She was an excellent communicator and we appreciated the extra effort she put in to make sure Evie felt better.”

“Iris was fantastic! She was able to help out last minute, even though we had never met before, and she immediately put me at ease. She showed up right on time, took great care of Tussey, and sent plenty of pictures during the walk. It was such a relief knowing Tussey was in good hands. Highly recommend and will definitely book with her again!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals of all kinds my whole life. I’ve breed fish, I’ve raised six puppies, I took care of three darling bearded dragons for a year, I work as a volunteer coordinator for the bond between, and I’ve even taken care of several dogs in hospice. I have genuinely loved animals all my life and cannot wait to spend the rest of my life, caring for and loving them so I hope you allow me to spend a little of my time caring for and loving your animals. I currently work part-time as a custom designer and actor as well as coordinating volunteer events for the bond between, so I have plenty of time to spend taking care of your lovely animals. A couple years ago I worked as an assistant dog trainer so I am very familiar with pet safety. I’ve also raised several puppies so I know how much they can get into stuff. I will always be keeping a careful watchful eye on any animals in the house as well as following any rules set in place by the owners and in case of any emergency, I’ve got a vet as a sister on speed dial.
About: I’ve been a dedicated dog walker and pet sitter professionally for 5 years, and my experience spans all shapes, sizes, personality types and abilities. I’ve been caring for pets since for 10 years, so I’ve pretty much seen it all! Whether it’s giving meds, taking extra-special care of elderly pups with arthritis or dry noses, or helping out with supportive harnesses, I’m here to make life easier for your furry friend. I’ve also worked with dogs who need a little extra TLC, like those with hearing or vision loss, or even pups who need inhalers or eye ointment. I will be starting a new recruiting position that requires a lot of travel. Therefore, I am not taking new clients at this time, but would be happy to try to accommodate previous clients. I will not be offering boarding at this time. I care for pets in my clients home like they are my own and will treat them with kindness and care. I know having new visitors in the home can be stressful for some animals and will be empathetic and gentle. I love to play with all pets and will keep them safe, walked and fed per the client's instruction. I have worked with pets who need special diets and was able to help the owner reach some of their goals.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
