Steve was wonderful with Mac over the past few weeks. He took excellent care of him and paid close attention to Mac’s cues, helping him feel safe and happy during their walks. Mac was always happy to see Steve at the door—a sure sign he was having a fun time. Thanks again, Steve! :)

About: I’m a full-time pet caregiver with more than 10 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes, cats, fish, and other small pets. I’ve also been actively involved in animal rescue and fostering since 2021. One of my most meaningful experiences was fostering a blind and deaf senior Chihuahua with Cushing’s disease in hospice care for over a year. This strengthened my ability to provide patient, individualized care for senior, anxious, special-needs, and medically complex pets. I’m also comfortable following detailed instructions and administering oral medications. My experience includes dog walking, drop-in visits, boarding, and overnight house sitting. I prioritize maintaining each pet’s normal routine while providing plenty of exercise, enrichment, affection, and companionship. You’ll receive thoughtful photos, detailed updates, and prompt communication throughout your pet’s care. Multi-pet families are especially welcome! I keep my sibling rates affordable so pets from the same household can remain together without the cost multiplying for each pet. For added peace of mind, every service booked and paid for through Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes 24/7 support and up to $25,000 in veterinary care reimbursement for eligible claims. Pet care is my full-time work, so my daily schedule is organized around the pets in my care. I offer flexible availability throughout the day and week, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and many holidays. This allows me to accommodate established routines, recurring services, and last-minute requests when availability permits. I plan travel time carefully between bookings and avoid overbooking so each pet receives their full scheduled time and attention. I begin each booking by reviewing the pet’s routine, behavior, triggers, health needs, and emergency information. I double-check doors, gates, collars, harnesses, and leashes before transitions, keep dogs leashed outdoors unless safely contained in an approved area, and monitor the weather to ensure outdoor activities remain safe. I have experience with crates and crate training and am comfortable following an established crating routine when needed. I can also safely manage designated areas of the home using baby gates, closed doors, playpens, or other barriers according to the pet parent’s instructions. This can be helpful for maintaining boundaries, separating pets during meals, or providing each pet with a comfortable space. My goal is always to provide as much safe, supervised time outside confined areas as possible, with plenty of attention, exercise, and enrichment. In a client’s home, I follow all access and security instructions, maintain the pet’s familiar environment, and leave the home clean and securely locked. Meet-and-greets are welcome so we can review care instructions and ensure everyone feels comfortable before the booking.

About: I've been a pet owner since I was a child. In our 40+ year marriage, my wife and I have owned two Maltese, two Shelties, and two Shih Tzus. Each pair simultaneously. Intermittently during the last four decades, we have also owned cats. In addition, I took care of our daughter's Labrador mix for a year while she studied in Europe. And now, I fly to Austin, Texas when she vacations to care for her Great Pyrenees, a Chihuahua mix, and a cat. I currently manage the remnants of a company I founded from my basement office. My work typically occupies less than an hour daily and can be done outside regular business hours, so my pet care schedule is very flexible. I regularly walk our Shih Tzus around the neighborhood and, weather permitting, take them to a nearby dog park. I also play Fetch with them in the house and give them daily massages. I usually take one of the dogs with me when I run errands in the car.

About: I've lived on a homestead taking care of farm animals including dogs, cats, goats, horses, chickens, and much more! My parents bred and trained AKC Labradors and Beagles for wild game hunting. I became a farm hand for a local barn in New Hampshire at the age of 14. Once I was 16 I started overnight caretaking for horses, dogs, and cats. I have experience training puppies and rescue dogs with my parents. I also own amphibians and non conventional pets so I'm familiar with exotic caretaking. I'm currently dog sitting/walking/feedings fulltime. I'll have plenty of time during the day to play with your pets and take them outside for potty breaks. I live in apartment that does not allow cats or dogs so any pet sitting will have to be done at your home. I have my own private insurance alongside Rover Garantee. I will need a full tour of your yard if it's fenced, to make sure there aren't any means of escaping. A full detailed care sheet that includes the pet's schedule, behavioral concerns (a must), vitamins or medications schedule, prefered place to walk or run (typical place you go to help understand your pet's public behavior and help form trust with them. I will always learn your pet's behavior in a controlled and comfortable environment first. Then if you approve, we can eventually go on hikes. The more detail I have about your pet, the better their transition will be in my care. Trust and Safety is my top priority when caring for a family member that can't speak.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with 12+ years of experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. I’ve raised and cared for a Border Collie mix, Boxer, Pug, and Min Pin—so I’m comfortable with everything from high-energy dogs to smaller companions. I’m experienced with walking, feeding, administering medication, and making sure pets get the exercise and attention they need, including outings to dog parks. I’ve also been involved in training, so I understand the importance of consistency and positive reinforcement. Your pet will be treated like family—safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work from home with a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets consistent attention throughout the day—whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding, or check-ins. I’m available most evenings as well, depending on my kids’ activities, and I plan my schedule to make sure each pet receives reliable and attentive care. I offer loving, reliable care both in my home and yours. I live in a two-bedroom place near Dean Parkway, just minutes from Lake Bde Maka Ska—perfect for walks, fresh air, and dog park visits. I’m active, so your pup will get great exercise, but there’s also plenty of comfy space for downtime and cuddles. My two kids are also gentle and loving with all pets, adding to the warm, welcoming environment. I pay close attention to routines, feeding schedules, and any special needs to make sure your pet feels right at home.

Kayla was a life saver for me this past week! I typically work from home but was traveling for work - so Kayla came over during the workdays to take Barley for a walk. She was flexible, responsive, and loving towards my two-year-old golden. She even offered to bring Barley a raincoat when it was raining one day the days! I will definitely be using Kayla again on my next work trip!

About: I have been a dog / cat sitter for my friends, family and neighbors since I was 13. My family had both dogs and cats in the house when I was growing up. I love spending time with animals and getting to know their unique personalities. I especially enjoy taking dogs for walks and playing with them outside to help expend their energy. I currently work from home in a corporate position. I have plenty of free time and would love to spend some of it taking care of animals. Typically, I am staying over at the client’s home for the duration of their trip / vacation. The client will often have me over to their home prior to their departure to meet the animal(s) and go over their needs and any other special requests they may have. It is very important to me that the client feels safe entrusting me to stay in their home and take care of their pets.

About: Hello👋🏽I’m a passionate dog lover and pet stylist at a doggie daycare, with 6+ years of experience leading playgroups and 3 years as a professional groomer. I’ve developed a deep understanding of dog behavior, body language, and individual needs.🐾 I currently have the sweetest babies, a 12 year old lab and 2 laid back cats. I grew up caring for our rescued beagles from an animal testing facility, which taught me how to support sensitive or nervous pups with patience and compassion. Through daycare and grooming, I’ve worked hands-on with all kinds of breeds, coat types, and personalities. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend and help them feel safe, happy, and loved! I also offer nail trims if your pup is comfortable with it.✂️ I also enjoy cleaning in my spare time, so I’d be happy to offer light housekeeping or general tidying if that’s something you’d find helpful.🫧 Pet care fits into my routine really naturally. I work as a groomer and often have shorter days starting at 8am, usually finishing around 2 or 3 PM, which gives me plenty of flexibility for pet sitting in the evenings. I’m also available most weekends for drop-ins and walks. I typically pet sit in the owner’s home, where pets feel most comfortable and secure. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely—every pet is different, and I do my best to stick to their usual routine, whether that’s feeding times, walks, play, medications, or just extra snuggles. I’m respectful of your home and treat it with care, just like I do with your pets!

About: I have about a decade of hands-on experience working in professional dog daycare and boarding environments, where I managed group play, monitored behavior, and helped maintain safe, structured routines for dogs of all temperaments. My approach is rooted in Fear Free principles—prioritizing low-stress handling, body language awareness, and proactive behavior management. I’m especially comfortable working with anxious, reactive, or high-energy dogs, and I focus on preventing issues before they escalate rather than reacting after the fact. I also have experience supporting puppies with early routine-building and basic reinforcement, as well as providing patient, attentive care for senior dogs. I go beyond basic care. I pay close attention to each dog’s individual needs and adjust my approach to support their comfort, confidence, and overall well being. Pet care is currently a central part of my routine, which allows me to offer flexible scheduling and consistent availability throughout the week. I’m available for morning, midday, and evening visits, and I’m able to accommodate a variety of schedules depending on your needs. I structure my day intentionally to ensure each pet receives focused, unrushed care. I also keep my schedule balanced so I’m not overbooked, which allows me to be reliable, responsive, and fully present during each visit. I prioritize consistency for pets, so I aim to keep repeat clients on a stable schedule whenever possible. Weekend availability is flexible, and I’m open to discussing ongoing or recurring care. Safety and trust are my top priorities in every environment. In a client’s home, I follow your dog’s established routine as closely as possible to maintain consistency and reduce stress. I pay close attention to body language, energy levels, and environmental factors to ensure each visit stays calm, structured, and safe. I’m mindful of entry/exit safety (doors, leashes, surroundings) and always keep dogs securely managed during transitions and walks. I take a proactive approach to behavior—preventing issues before they escalate by managing space, triggers, and interactions carefully. I’m experienced in handling dogs with different temperaments and will always adjust my approach based on what your dog needs in the moment. If approved, I can offer carefully managed social interaction with my own dog for clients with dog-friendly pets. All introductions are done gradually and intentionally, with safety as the priority. I also provide consistent updates so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is for you to feel confident that your dog is not just being looked after, but genuinely understood and cared for.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
