“Xinia has been great with my dog! She shows up on time is very kind to my Frenchie Harriet and even gets her stubborn doggie butt to go on a walk with her. Harriet is usually difficult to walk for strangers as she just stops and acts stubborn. The last time Xinia walked her Harriet was excited to see her for a walk! This is has been wonderful for me since I can't walk her for a while as I just had foot surgery.”

About: I was an active Rover sitter from 2017-2022 before going on an extended leave. My partner and I have decided to lightly reopen (0-2 stays per month) our home for dogsitting clients because I miss it. If folks are interested in a housesitter and live closer to Edina, my partner Ryan is available for housesitting. He can only housesit for clients with dogs who can handle a standard work day alone. I have a broad experience with many different types of dogs. Since I was young, my family always took in strays and rehomes and it's something that I have continued with as I grew up. I have experience both owning and watching small dogs, large dogs, high energy (border collies and heelers), low energy, high work drive (malinios), anxious, reactive, confident, and multiple dogs. I also have experience managing multiple dog households in which one dog was dog aggressive/reactive. I state this since I know what it's like to try and get a sitter for the "problem child" of the household. I believe dogs are happier when they have a job and love working to find out what dogs enjoy doing! Some dogs enjoy using their nose, others enjoy climbing and jumping on things, some dogs like trick training and some dogs enjoy chasing the ball! But at the end of the night, all dogs like some cuddles and sleep. I currently have multiple dogs that are active in various dog sports, dog training, and walking (slowly getting back into running after an injury). I do not have a fully fenced yard but I also don't ever use my yard as a way of exercise, the yard is purely to go potty or to lay down in while I work outside. Your dog will always be on leash when going potty even if it's below freezing. I am a big believer that there's rarely bad weather just bad gear, your dog will get outside most days with me or at the very least some one-on-one time to play, train, or mental/physical exercise every day. Ryan has experience with anxious and high energy dogs but prefers dogs who enjoy cuddling and long meandering walks. Currently, I am available all day to care for Rover clients. I do have training commitments for Search and Rescue on Saturday mornings but your dog will be exercised either by Ryan during that time or exercised by me afterwards. Clients have their own separate room (my home office) for bedtime and when dogs need to be separated (calm time, feeding, needing to be left, etc). I do not require crating but strongly prefer to take on clients who crate their pups due to poor experiences of client dog’s shredding door frames. If your dog isn’t crate trained, we may have a conversation beforehand about a plan of action if your dog does destroy things when left alone.
“This is the first time that I have worked with Donna and will definitely call on her again to help with our crazy mutt. In our first meeting I felt confident that she was responsible and reliable. Communication and coordination with Donna went smoothly and I appreciated the photos and update.”

“She is absolutely amazing! Very friendly and does a great job. She really cares about the animals she takes care of and is always on time. Thanks again for all you do. :)”

“Shayla has been an amazing dog walker for our little Mabel! She’s very attentive, fast at communicating, always takes lots of pictures and always fills out the Rover card! If I could give her ten stars, I would! 😊”

“Kayleah did a great job with our very large and energetic Shepherd mix! Her communication was excellent, and Dawson was always excited to see her. Next time we need a dog walker, we’ll definitely reach out!”

“Skyler has been great with our baby, Izzy! She went above and beyond by giving us important updates, sitting and playing with Izzy, and keeping close to the schedule we provided for Izzy’s walks for the entire week! Izzy was excited to see Skyler every day and we will definitely book her again soon!”

About: I have had and lived with dogs for about 20 years and first pet sat (chickens and two cats) at about age twelve (~14 years ago). I have been watching animals (mostly dogs) with frequency since about age 13. I began by watching the neighbor's dog on occasion, and a couple years later spent the summer volunteering in an animal shelter (cats and dogs). After moving to Minnesota, I began to watch my aunts' dogs and cat when they would go out of town and watched, walked, and cared for my roommate's cat and neighbors' dogs between 2020 and 2024. I still watch my aunts' dog Cinnamon for them periodically and sometimes walk their neighbors' dogs. I grew up with a three-legged golden/lab mix, and following that and other experiences, dogs with special needs such as senior and disabled dogs hold a special place in my heart, as do dogs with anxiety or nervousness. While I have the most experience with dogs, I have also cared for and/or spent time with other pets and critters including cats, chickens, hermit crabs, exotic birds, and goats! I am a recent graduate working very part time while I work on next steps. This fortunately means that I am often free while others are at work during the day and accordingly happy to walk, feed, and keep pets company when you are away. I am generally a calm and put-together type of person. If I am hired to stay over with a dog or cat--as opposed to simply walking/taking them out or feeding them--you can expect me to play with them if they want, or curl up on the couch with a good book if all they want is company/cuddles. My super power with dogs is regulating myself to help regulate them--something I learned working with anxious shelter dogs--I have lost count of the number of times I've heard variations on "I've never seen her/him this calm/friendly meeting someone before."

About: I grew up on a hobby farm taking care of a variety of animals. I have done senior care for dogs and cats previously. I have two cats of my own (neutered males) who are easy to get along with. I have worked with dogs and cats as young as 8 weeks old through their entire lifespan. I am happy to do senior care. I have pet sit for a variety of families before. I currently work full time but a flexible schedule. If you need someone to drop in midday to walk your dog or check in on your pet I’m happy to do that. I also wake up early to take care of my two cats. My job can be remote so if needed I can stay home for specific times. My two cats usually sleep most of the day. I do not have a fenced yard. I live in a three bedroom with the cat boxes in the basement but scooped and cleaned regularly. I have multiple cat trees and many cat toys. My two cats also usually play with each other or sleep the day away. I am used to protecting client privacy, so your information will always stay secure.
About: I've lived with dogs my whole life- from 10 lbs to 50 lbs to 80 lbs, dogs are my FAVORITE! I couldn't imagine a life where I didn't come home to my pups! My full time job is dogs!! I've been dog sitting for 2 years, caring for up to 4 dogs at a time! I'm very active and would love to play outside with your pups or run with them! I love playing fetch, tug of war, but especially cuddling! I've been through training classes myself with my own dogs, and along the way learned a lot of good cues! I'll treat your pup with all the love and time I give my own, I know I'd want that for my dog when I was gone!
About: My names Jeremiah and I'd love to take care of your pet. Been around pets my whole life. Mainly cats, but I love all animals. Most pets I've known or taken care of before have warmed up to me quick cause I let them get comfortable at their own pace and show lots of love and patience. Owned many cats myself and have gotten really engaged with taking care of other relatives or friends of relatives pets. I enjoy watching sports and trying out new food and going places I haven't been before. Huge fan of history and reading in my spare time. Avid fan of sleeping and eating more food than I should but always get things done on time. If a zombie apocalypse were to happen I'd be the one you'd want in your group
About: With a lifetime of experience owning dogs and cats, I’ve mastered caring for all temperaments. As a dedicated foster parent and lifelong pet sitter, I understand every dog has unique needs. I love staying active by taking pups on long walks, runs, or playing fetch, ensuring they get the exercise and personalized attention they deserve while I work from home. As a full-time remote worker, I am home all day Monday through Friday with a very flexible schedule. I have the freedom to take breaks for morning strolls, midday fetch, and evening runs. My weekends are fully open, ensuring your pet receives constant companionship and personalized care 24/7. Safety is my top priority during every walk and drop-in. I always perform a gear check before heading out and maintain 100% focus on your dog and our surroundings. I am experienced in reading dog body language and avoiding triggers to keep our outings stress-free. In your home, I am meticulous about double-checking locks and ensuring your pet is safely settled before I leave. My goal is to provide the same patient, specialized care I give my own fosters.
About: I've had pets since I was a child. My best friend and I would catch lizards and insects growing up. I've volunteered at my local shelter (in Florida), and I often visit shelters to give animals attention. Friends and coworkers know me for my love for animals and entrust me with their care when they are away for a work day or an extended period of time. LGBTQIA+ friendly Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I live and work full-time in downtown St. Paul with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide care on workdays—whether that’s walks, check-ins, or some quality time. On weekends, I’m able to dedicate full days to pet care. I love going on neighborhood walks and outdoor excursions when the weather’s nice, and I’d be happy to have your fur baby join me. I always meet each pet where they’re at, whether they need lots of activity or a little extra emotional support. When caring for pets—whether in my home or a client’s—I focus on giving each animal the kind of attention and interaction that fits their personality. I’m happy to provide all the pets, cuddles, and playtime they want, but I always let them set the pace. I love playing fetch, being chased (or doing the chasing!), and I’m comfortable engaging in a bit of rough play with larger breeds when appropriate to help them burn off energy. I always respect an animal’s space and let them approach me first. With cats, for example, I’ll take things slowly and use gentle cues like slow blinking to help build trust. Whether your pet loves being a lap companion or just wants a calm presence nearby, I’m attentive to their needs and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in any environment.
About: Since I was 12, pet care and babysitting have been passions of mine. I have cared for many different animals for many people. There's always pets in my home and I greatly enjoy helping others care for their own. I have done many activities not limited to walking, play times, potty and litter training, and bathing. I have no issues with pets that need additional care such as medications, mobility help, or behavioral problems. I am currently a vet assistant at an animal hospital in WI. My typical schedule is Monday-Thursday 8am-5:15pm and 8am-12pm on Fridays. For pet care, I tend to prefer afternoons, evenings, and nights, but am open to any time I'm not scheduled at the clinic. In my house, there is my cat, Habanero, and my roomates 2 cats. I am comfortable with all sorts of pet personalities, whether very cuddly or not a fan of people. I'm also experienced in care that is indoor, outdoor, or both. Kennels, leashes/harnesses, and litter boxes are no problem.
“Sy has been a lifesaver helping me with Lilly during the week!! She was super quick to respond to my initial request, which I was so grateful for because I needed services suddenly. And to top it all off, Lilly loves her so I feel like she’s in great hands whenever I’m gone! She goes above and beyond, even helping me with her medication when I asked. And she seems to really care about Lilly’s wellbeing, like she’s her own. Definitely recommend!!”

Downtown dog parents share their Rover experiences
Sarah did an excellent job walking Hazel while our family was out of town. She was on time, friendly and great with an energetic lab. She paid special attention when we let her know that Hazel gets anxious while around other dogs and on a leash, and came up with some tricks to ease her anxiety. We’d absolutely recommend Sarah to anyone needing a dog walker!

Xinia has been great with my dog! This is has been wonderful for me since I can't walk her for a while as I just had foot surgery.

Claire was awesome! She took great care of my pupper on their daily walks, and was clear and communicative. Followed all my directions and was even nice enough to give me pup some extra time when he was anxious about construction workers at my building. Will definitely be hiring her again :)

Siri was fantastic with my two labs. She showed up on time, took them for a long walk and returned back exactly as we asked. The girls loved her and have found a new friend. We have already booked her for another week. Highly recommend Siri to care for your animals.
