Pet care experience

Reliable St. Paul Sitter

I’ve spent years as a multi-pet owner with three cats and Dakota, my German shepherd mix who came to me with significant anxiety. Working through that with him has given me real, hands-on experience handling reactive, fearful, and high-needs animals calmly and patiently. What sets me apart is that I actually understand anxious pets — not just tolerating the behavior, but knowing how to create a low-stress environment and read an animal’s cues before things escalate. I’m also comfortable managing cats and dogs together, including navigating introductions and keeping the peace in a mixed household. My background as a shift supervisor means I’m organized, dependable, and good at staying calm under pressure — which pets pick up on more than people realize.

Dog Walking • May 24, 2026

Reliable and generous, ensured my dog was walked with plenty of play time every day even in rainy weather. My energetic mini labradoodle was excited to see Jae H when he arrived for walks. Responsive communication . Clear commitment. Daily photos and reports. Jae H noticed and reported on a bug bite. Flexible when I had to change dates. I will definitely rebook, given the opportunity.

Jae is our go to guy for our zoo! We have three cats and a dog and he is so attentive to them. He’s a great dog walker and even worked with our new puppy on his heel while walking on the leash and clicker training. The cats love him as well! My fluffy cat even lets him groom her, which she rarely even lets me do. Jae can do it all— I highly recommend!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

My schedule works really well for pet care. I work early morning shifts, which means I’m typically free by early afternoon and available most evenings — prime time for walks, check-ins, feeding, and just hanging out with your pet. Afternoons and evenings are never rushed for me, so your animal gets real attention, not a quick visit squeezed between other commitments. Dakota gets daily exercise and a consistent routine regardless, so any pet in my care naturally fits into that same structure. Consistency matters to animals, and my schedule makes it easy to deliver that.

Where your pet will stay

Safety, trust & environment

For drop-in visits, I treat your home and your pet’s routine with respect — I’m not there to do the bare minimum and leave. I follow your pet’s established schedule for feeding, bathroom breaks, and any medications or special needs, and I always take a few minutes to just be present with them. Pets notice when someone is rushing, and I’m not that person. For dog walking, I tailor the pace and route to your dog’s energy level and comfort. Some dogs want to move; others need a slower, sniff-heavy walk to decompress. I’m experienced walking a high-energy, anxious dog, so I know how to stay calm and in control if something unexpected happens on the leash — another dog, loud noises, whatever it is. In both cases, you’ll get updates with photos so you know your pet is doing well.

Pets

A typical day

Every pet is different, so I tailor activities to their energy and personality. For dogs, that usually means outdoor walks, fetch, and enrichment games that keep them mentally and physically stimulated. I have a high-energy shepherd mix at home, so I know how to keep active dogs engaged and happy. For more relaxed or anxious pets, I focus on calm bonding time, gentle play, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable throughout the visit.

The more I know upfront, the better I can care for your pet. Most importantly, I want to know about any anxiety, reactivity, or behavioral quirks, especially around other animals or strangers. I also need to know about medical needs, dietary restrictions, and any medications. Knowing their daily routine, favorite activities, and things that stress them out helps me keep things as normal as possible while you’re away. If your pet has any history of escaping or bolting, please let me know so I can take extra precautions.
