About: I've had cats since I was a child. Neighbors, roommates, friends, and family have relied on me to take care of pets when they are gone. This has included feeding at a specific time in a specific way and at times giving medication. With a former roommate, I also found and rescued a young female cat during law school, and she turned out to be pregnant. We bathed and brushed her several times to get rid of fleas, got her spayed after pregnancy, and rehomed the kittens. I've had my own cat for a few years now, and I understand needing to maintain their routine and monitoring diet to address issues such as regurgitation of food due to poor city water quality or eating too fast or sensitive stomach issues. I am an attorney and can visit the cats in the mornings and evenings and during the weekend at regular times and ensure they receive love and playtime. I do not care for pets in my home, as my apartment is too small and my cat is more of an only child. However, I am very much able to spend at least a couple hours each day with my clients' cat(s) to feed them, maintain cleanliness of their spaces, play with them with their favorite toys, and give them pets as each cat prefers.

About: Caring for pets has been a part of my life for a long time, through both pets of our own and foster pets! We’ve been fostering for the past decade and have cared for over 30 dogs and cats. I have experience with dogs with all kinds of personalities, including shy, anxious, and reactive. My favorite thing about animals is they all have their own personalities, and I love learning about who they are! My approach is to meet pets where they’re at and let them set the pace for our interactions, especially those who need a little extra time to feel comfortable with someone new. Senior dogs have an especially big place in my heart, as we have two of our own, and I’m very comfortable with the extra patience and care older pups sometimes need. I’ve also fostered and spent time with dogs of many breeds, sizes, and personalities, including bully breeds which are always welcome! I work a hybrid schedule, and will spend most of my day with your pet. When I leave, it will generally be no longer than about 4 hours at a time, whether for work or to see my own pets and family. If I expect I’ll need to be gone longer than this at any point during the stay, I’ll let you know before booking! I will treat your home as a guest in it; I’m tidy and will clean up after me and your pets! What is helpful for me to know is what your pet’s typical day looks like, if they have any favorite or important parts to their routine, and ways they like to get stimulation (walk, play, puzzles). Where do they sleep? As much information as you can tell me about your pet is better so I can keep things as normal for them as possible!
About: I’ve cared for dogs since my teenage years, from puppies to seniors. Lately, I’ve fostered and adopted senior rescues. I consider dogs some of the most special creatures on Earth. I work full-time from home and love having dog-walking breaks throughout the day. I can sit in your home (as long as there’s wi-fi so I can log into work) or mine. My 15-year old Chihuahua mix passed away recently, so I currently do not have an animal companion in my home, though that doesn’t last very long with me! I do not have a fenced-in yard; however, there is a walking path across the front street of my home and a city park across the street in the back.

So, I just was so thankful for Rover, and for Danielle. Asking neighbors is difficult, because they have their own lives to live. One time I had to make arrangements with 4 different neighbors / friends to cover a one-month absence. Rover completely relieves that anxiety for me. I specifically liked Danielle a lot. I tend to be wordy, but I appreciate pithiness in others. Danielle was just right. Gave me nice updates, frequently just photos, but with a word or two of commentary occasionally. One thing that especially impressed me: when I introduced Danielle to our condo association manager, Danielle, on her own initiative, said "Do you want to see identification," and began digging into her bag for something. Martha said, yes, please. Danielle showed her a driver license (I presumed). That seemed professional and reassuring to me. Danielle left my place as clean or cleaner than when I had left 23 days previously. She was just real nice and competent and professional, I thought. So, I am super-pleased with how well things went. I really did have peace of mind regarding my cat as I tried to negotiate trains, subways, skytrains, buses, boats, and taxis in Japan and Bangkok. And that was worth a lot to me.
Michaela took wonderful care of my cat Finn for a week while I was away, and I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. She visited twice a day and sent excellent updates, so I always knew how Finn was doing. What stood out most was how much she genuinely cared about him. One day she noticed he wasn't eating, so she hand-fed him, and he finished his whole meal like a champ. She even offered to pick up extra medication for him if he needed it. When I had to add a visit at the last minute, she was incredibly accommodating and made it easy. I'm so glad I found her, and I'll definitely be booking Michaela again. Highly recommend!
We can't say enough good things about Amanda. Our cat gets very anxious whenever we travel, so leaving him is always stressful for us too. Amanda made it easy. She was incredibly communicative, sent regular updates, and clearly cared about making our cat comfortable. It was a huge relief to know he was in such good hands. We'll definitely be booking Amanda again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter!
I have two high energy dogs, one of which can be reactive and a trouble maker. Natalie was patient, understanding, and excited to hang out with them for a couple hours while we were out for the day. She was responsive with communication, on time, and sent lots of pictures to let us know everything was going well. I would definitely enlist her help again!
Jill is the pet sitting equivalent of the cool aunt! She rolls into town and spoils my cats with treats, cuddles, petting and everything they love for what appears to be a very action packed visit with my boys. I can tell they are in love with her and showing off for her in the pictures that she sends me. It’s great knowing they are in such good hands and makes it easier for me to leave them behind.
Michelle took fantastic care of our two dogs and a cat! She came over to meet our animals she’d of time and review their needs and care. She was great with all The animals and her care shone through! She was on time, communication was ongoing throughout our trip and we chatted about any updates and any issues while we were away! Fully recommend and we will have Michelle watch our animals again!
