“Brittney is wonderful with our cat Felix. He has anxiety and is fairly new to our home and Brittney made him feel safe and loved while we were gone. She took wonderful photos of him and communicated well with us, daily. I highly recommend Brittney and she will be Felix’s sitter in the future as well! He clearly loves her and sees her as his buddy. Thank you Brittney!”

“John took excellent care of our four cats for a trip away. He was very communicative starting at our initial meet and greet. He asked great questions about how best to care for all of them. We got lots of photos and a video everyday of them. Our cats were in one of the best moods they’ve been compared to other times we went on trips. I would book John again and highly recommend!”

“great sit. thanks so much, Larcy. the boys look forward to seeing you again. i could not have gone to see the eclipse if you hadn’t been available when the other sitter suddenly cancelled.”

“Tiana was wonderful — the best cat-sitter we’ve ever had! One of our cats is very shy around strangers and she was still able to give him his pills. This was such a relief to us. She also gave our diabetic cat her shots twice a day. Tiana was very caring and reliable. She sent us updates and pictures with every visit, which we loved. And she spent time with the cats and gave them pets and did everything we could have hoped to make sure they were well taken care of.”

“Jandy provided care (on very short notice) for our older cat, who needed multiple medications and daily subcutaneous fluid administration while we were out of town. She was compassionate, patient, and a great communicator, sending photo updates to us during the trip. Overall, we are happy with Jandy’s services!”

About: Hey! My name is Mars B. but I go by Myk W. (I got married and love a good nickname). I have worked with animals for my entire life - but for the last ten, it has been a significant part of my daily life. What started my passion was a harsh storm one summer when I was a kid. My grandma, The Beav’s, went outside once the worst of it had passed and began looking over the neighborhood. We walked home with two sparrows and a crow. A few days later, after mending any wounds and letting them recover, we got to release them. What proved I can handle the hardest of it was when my mother needed someone to take over the care for her elderly dogs. This included the fun of walks and play but also the parts that still inspire a tight ache in my chest. There’s a pride in knowing they were comforted until the end but a sorrow in any goodbye. I pride myself on my patience and in letting them sniff every bush on every walk, hide under beds until they seem me safe and being vigilant enough to prevent them from eating things they shouldn’t, from knocking things off counters or flying directly into a window. I also get to know them on their time. I was a very shy and anxious kid and apply what I wanted then to how I grow relationships with people and animals I work with now. I spent two years befriending a traumatized cockatoo and once he realized he could never bite me hard enough or scream loud enough to make me hurt him, he began sleeping on my chest and would dance every time I entered the room. His name was Goose and he and the macaw (with similar struggles) I had rescued at the time, Ravi, were the whole sun and moon to me. Animals always brighten my day and working with them is a healing thing for me. Living in Seattle means a smaller space not suitable for in-home rescue work and so I will find a place to volunteer and walk pets and do check in’s to fulfill my passion for working with animals! Currently, my husband and I are moving to Seattle, Wa and as a result, I am between jobs so my schedule is entirely open. Once in Seattle, my new job starts a few weeks later and I plan to work with animals as much as I can until then - and just a bit less once work starts as I still really want to walk and check in on pets local pets! In our home, it is individual to our pets. My husband and I have two cats - one named Smelvin, the other named Chickpea. Smelvin has had some hardships and as a result, has high anxiety and PICA, on top of food allergies limiting his diet to chicken and a few other poultry products. This means keeping a watchful eye to ensure he doesn’t have access to PICA triggers or anything else that could cause stomach issues to return. As for Chickpea, she is extremely high energy and so we need to prevent her from injuring herself - meaning we don’t keep heavy things out nor leave wires exposed. For others pets, I follow trust the owners judgements and maintain a close watch when their pets are in my care. During drop ins, I spend time with the animals and then do one or two walk throughs to check for any dangers, signs of sickness or distress or damage to the home or things they can escape from like window screens being pushed out or otherwise. It is very individual to owner and pet, but following instructions and also staying aware of obvious dangers or needs seems to cover all the bases.
“The only one I hire to watch my pets :) I went out camping and couldn't take my cat. I knew I wouldn't have service and I knew Stephanie was the one I'd trust to keep my Blaze happy!”

“Olivia was amazing! I highly recommend Olivia and will be booking again. My two cats were so well taken care of while I was gone. She followed all my instructions and I came home to happy and relaxed cats. Even my grumpy old cat hung out and accepted pets from her.”

“We were nervous to leave our anxious husky alone for some time but Jenna communicated so well and took care of her. She sent us pictures, took her for long walks, and gave her medicine. We will be booking with Jenna again!!”

About: I have a nine-year-old cat that I have had since he was a kitten. Previously, I have also had a French bulldog that needed special care so I have experience caring for more needy animals as well. I work full-time from home. My job gives me the flexibility to step away and go for a walk along the waterfront or in your neighborhood. I am home a majority of the day and week so your pet is in good hands. I am very passionate about animals, and I believe that we need them more than they need us. I live directly on the waterfront with a huge beach and shared yard for your dog to play in. I love going for walks and I am very active. In between meetings, I love to cuddle up with your fur baby and give them lots of love.
“Eileen was great with our cats. They are 13 and are not used to us not being there. They usually even travel with us. So this was a big change for them Eileen took care of them and followed their routines which calmed them. We will definitely use her services again.”

“Nicole was awesome in every aspect! She came over to meet our cat prior to the scheduled visits to make sure they were ok with each other. Nicole followed every instruction perfectly and was very communicative when things came up with our cat. Extremely grateful to have her care for our cat while we were away on holiday.”

About: Growing up we had cats, kittens, small and large dogs, and even birds! I have always loved caring for animals. I can manage special diets, oral medications and the occasional unexpected accident. As the proud mama to our own senior German Shepherd, Lucy, who we adopted almost 9 years ago, I can understand the anxieties of leaving your pet with someone else. I can provide you the comfort of caring for your pets, young and old, with the attention and patience required. Please let me know if you have any questions or requests. I look forward to care for your fur family! My schedule is very flexible day and night. I have a part time nanny position in the evenings and have several pet sitting clients in rotation. I am not taking on anymore over night stays at this time but am willing to discuss this option after I have met you and your pets.
About: Ever since I was 12 years old, family and friends have trusted me with taking care of their pets. I have always had a deep fascination and care for animals, and that has allowed me to become a very good animal caretaker. I would be delighted to spend time with any pet! I am available pretty much around the clock! The only exception is Tuesday evenings. But other than that I am more than ready to care for dogs, cats, and other animals at almost any time. My house has been home to a number of small animals. When I was a little kid we had fish, frogs, and lizards, which we housed in an elaborate terrarium. I've also taken care of guinea pigs for a very long time, and currently my family has three lovely chickens that live in our backyard. I have cared for a variety of animals, so I am adaptable and comfortable with different and specific needs.

Des Moines cat parents share their Rover experiences
Larcy took great care of our cats while we were away for 4th of July Weekend, and kept an eye out on our house. She was attentive to any specific needs the cats had. She sent very consistent updates and photos to keep our minds at ease while we were away. When we arrived home the cats were very content. We will continue to book with her for future needs!

Brooklin was absolutely fantastic and so wonderful to work with! We have kitties with special medical needs including oral meds, inhaler treatments and insulin shots every 12 hrs, and she jumped right in and learned their routines/treatments so quickly and easily! We loved reading Brooklin’s fun notes after each visit and the photos & videos she sent. It truly made being away from home so much easier knowing they were in great hands! We appreciate you so much Brooklin!!

Chervyn was awesome with our pets! She was flexible, willing to go above and beyond with our fur babies, and was very communicative while we were gone. She did a great job caring for our cats, and dogs, and even checked on the chickens! We'll definitely be booking with her again!
