“Megan is very responsible and considerate and totally loves animals! She took care of our house and our puppy while we were gone for 9 days and our house was perfect and our pup very happy and well cared for. Would definitely hire again!”

“Laura was a great help! She was able to work from our house and watch our puppy during the day so we didn’t have to crate her or worry about her getting into trouble. We would book her again ??”

“Olivia provided excellent care for my Siberian Husky at my home during my weekend trip. She was punctual, sent updates with pictures, accommodated a last-minute booking, and was flexible with the schedule. I would confidently recommend her services for dog sitting or walking.”

“Very nice and super accommodating! It was my first time leaving my two working dogs to be watched by someone and she did an amazing job! She was super flexible and was great with the dogs. She sent me photos and updates after every visit/walk. I will definitely look for her to watch my dogs again!”

“Simply put, Valeriya was amazing. She exceeded all our expectations and we could not have imagined a better experience. Valeriya took care of our 8-year old Aussie Doodle Noodles, sitting for him in our home, taking care of our house as well, for a little more than a month. It was our first ever long duration trip leaving Noodles at home, and we were anxious to say the least. At the meet and greet, Valeriya suggested a series of "get-to-know Noodles" activities to ensure her arrival for the sit was well met and comfortable. She asked us to prepare thorough directions, including items we would not have thought to include without her tremendous input. During the stay, she communicated daily with us about Noodles, his activities, eating, general health and well being, providing photos and live videos of their time together. We had weekly video calls with her and Noodles. She contacted us whenever anything unexpected, however small, came up. But most importantly, her professional, courteous approach with us was matched only by her genuine affection and care for Noodles, who took to her immediately. The bond between Valeriya and Noodles reflected in her videos, her smiles, and his smiles and genuine enthusiasm for her and all their activities throughout her care for Noodles. We did not worry about his well-being for one second. Valeriya is the "Mary Poppins" of pet sitters -- we literally could not have conceived how perfect a fit she would be for Noodles and for us. She is invaluable, words cannot express our gratitude to her, or the affection she shared with Noodles throughout her extended stay with him in our home. We are looking forward to a long term relationship with her for all our pet sitting needs. She is, succinctly, beyond great -- she is the very best, and the standard for pet sitting should be based on every aspect of her service. With eternal gratitude to Valeriya, we remain over the top for her kind, courteous, loving care for Noodles and our home.”

“Mallory was great with our dog. She came over to review everything and took great notes, then showed up on time and provided great care. She also made sure we knew our dog was receiving care and her medications as directed. Will certainly use Mallory again.”

About: I grew up next to a dog park and spent most of my free time around dogs, learning their personalities, body language, and energy naturally from a young age. I began pet sitting during my teen and college years, and over time developed a strong ability to help animals feel safe, comfortable, and understood. While attending school in Boston, I also worked at a pet supply shop, where I regularly interacted with dogs and their owners and further developed my understanding of pet care, behavior, routines, and different personality types. Professionally, I work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and caregiver, which has strengthened my skills in patience, consistency, structure, emotional awareness, and reading behavior cues. I’m especially good with sensitive, shy, anxious, high-energy, or routine-oriented pets because I naturally bring a grounded and calming presence. I understand the importance of reliability, communication, and maintaining routines that help pets feel secure while their owners are away. Whether that means energetic walks and playtime, quiet companionship, or extra attentiveness to specific needs, I adapt to each pet individually. I also have experience caring for pets in clients’ homes and understand the importance of respecting both the animal’s environment and the family’s space. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine, and I genuinely enjoy creating consistent, attentive care for animals throughout the week. Currently, I’m available for morning care and walks until noon, as well as evening care after 7 PM on weekdays. I also have open availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for pet sitting, extended care, and overnight stays. I enjoy incorporating walks, outdoor time, play, feeding routines, and calm companionship into my schedule, and I’m committed to providing reliable and consistent care that helps pets feel comfortable and secure. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment where pets can feel secure and cared for while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to maintain their normal routines, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, rest, medications (if needed), and overall structure. I understand that consistency helps pets feel more relaxed and emotionally settled, especially when their family is away. I pay close attention to body language, behavior changes, energy levels, and each pet’s individual personality and needs. My background as a caregiver and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) has strengthened my attentiveness, patience, and ability to remain calm and observant in different situations. I’m respectful of clients’ homes, reliable with communication, and committed to keeping both pets and owners comfortable throughout the experience. Safety is always my top priority during walks, outdoor time, feeding, and supervision. I aim to create an experience where pets feel genuinely cared for — not just watched.

I primarily work from home, which gives me flexibility during the week, and I have a lot of weekend availability for your pet care needs. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to me. I will diligently follow your instructions, pay close attention to your pet’s needs, and do my best to help them feel comfortable and loved.
“Lisbeth was great! She was very communicative and pretty sure my house was cleaner when I got back home than when I left. I felt very comfortable with my animals and home in her care. I will be using her again next time I need a pet/house sitter. Thanks so much Lisbeth!!”

I am a Pacific Grove local! my energy is very flexible, I love to go for a long walks and be energetic for the hyper dogs and cats out there! “Taryn was a great sitter, who was neat and considerate and who left a very content dog when she left our house. Our return plans were uncertain due to weather in CO but Taryn was more than willing to adjust her schedule to accommadate ours and Buddy's needs. Would definitely call on her again.”

“Mari stepped up and helped us out for an unexpected trip back home. She went above and beyond to look after our girls and took extra care with our shy girl, Emi, and won her over in the end. Our youngest girl 10 months unexpectedly started her first cycle and Mari cared for her and took care of her extra needs. ( we bought washable diapers to help during that time) We have already recommended her to our neighbors and look forward to using her again. Thank you so much Mari!”

About: Dogs are truly a humans best friend.🥰We enjoy taking them for walks, (helps keep us in shape😁) playtime and just bonding with them. When we needed sitters for our pup years ago, we appreciated our sitter checking in with us. We feel communicating with our neighbors, gives us all peace of mind. So if it’s ok with you, we will send a picture, or video to assure you that your pup is safe and sound. We have more time now, to enjoy God’s creation and do things that bring us real joy. We absolutely love and appreciate the gift of life and enjoy caring for and bonding with all types of animals. Whether at the park, or at the beach, dogs tend to gravitate towards my husband and I. (They obviously feel our ‘love for dogs’ vibe.🥰) We have 4 grand pets we love dearly and look forward to their visits, but when they go home, we love on everyone else’s pets, lol. We decided to start pet sitting again part time, to help fill that void.🫠 We prefer sitting at your home, so your pet feels comfortable and less stressed while you’re away, but we also don’t mind entertaining them at our home for the day. If so, it would be helpful if they’re crate-trained, in case we have to step away for a little while. It is of upmost importance to us, to see that your pet is safe and happy under our care. We love to spoil and treat them as if they were our own, so beware, they tend to not want us to leave.🥰

“This is the third time we’ve used Natalie for walks and overnight dog sitting when visiting Carmel. This time was for three nights. She’s always super communicative and keeps us updated throughout her stay and Arthur is always happy to see her. I can’t recommend her enough and hope to be able to hire her on our next visit to the area.”

“She was incredible, she loved my babies, and they loved her even more, and it made it so much easier to leave cause i knew they were in good hands. She even made sure we can home to a clean house!! Will absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Sonia was fantastic with our dog. It was a huge comfort having someone who is so experienced with veterinary medicine taking care of our older frenchie with some health issues. Highly recommend”
About: I enjoy playing with dogs, and rewarding good behavior. I have cared for the pets of friends and family while they are out of town. I worked with my own dog, and he earned his STAR Puppy certificate. We are currently working on Canine Good Citizen certification through AKC. I am self employed, and have a flexible schedule, at the moment. I am sure I will have the time to help care for your pet. In the past, I have walked, fed, and played with the dogs that I have cared for. I follow all instructions left by the owner.
“Natalie stayed with my dog Olive for the weekend. Olive seemed happy when I got home and my house well taken care of. Natalie came over for a meet and greet before she stayed at my house, and Olive loved her immediately. I would definitely recommend Natalie!”

“Brittany loves dogs! She sent pictures of my big, goofy dogs curled up next to her; very reassuring for me being across the country at the time. She stayed in our home and all went well; I’m lucky to have found her.”

Mallory was great. She was very responsive while we were making plans and worked hard to ensure no miscommunication and that we were aligned on the arrangements. we asked her to sit with our german shepherd in our hotel room while we went out for the afternoon and it worked really well. i would not hesitate to use Mallory again if we are ever back in the area abd need a sitted

I feel so fortunate to find Mari. Mari took great care of our four collies, from young to senior. She is excellent in communication, very trustworthy and competent. I will not hesitate to reach out to her for future dog and house sitting needs and recommend her without reservation. It was such a blessing, while out of town, to know our four dogs were in good hands.

Natalie was terrific in the care she gave our little Maltese Molly. Molly is a senior dog ( going on 14 ), she has a tumor on her bladder and has to pee very often. She also is very anxiety when she is away from us. Although she is taking pain meds and anxiety meds, she whines when we are out of sight. Natalie took charge by comforting her and distracting her with toys and treats. We were comfort with leaving Molly with Natalie to go to a friends house for a Thanksgiving meal. We would definitely feel very comfortable leaving her with Natalie.

Minko did an outstanding job in caring for our young boxer pup, Caesar. He approached the sit in a professional manner ready to immediately walk and explore area while Caesar got used to him. He adhered to instructions and suggestions we suggested and even stayed an extra hour when we found out we would be delayed. Minko did an excellent in care of Caesar and I would not hesitate to use him again.

Lauren was wonderful with our pups and gave us peace of mind while we spent the day golfing. We have a senior dog that has some unique care instructions and Lauren did a great job following our instructions. We will definitely contact Lauren again if we are back in the Carmel area!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Del Monte Forest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Del Monte Forest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Del Monte Forest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
