“Laura is a wonderful dog and house sitter. She is responsible and asks questions to understand our dogs' different needs. She communicates well with photos and updates. We can easily be away from home knowing she is there to tend to the needs of our two Cardigan Welsh Corgis and our home and land.”

“We really appreciate all the care that Lisbeth gave our boy during our absence. She was great in communication and sent us tons of photos and videos. If you need responsive and trustworthy care for your fur babies , you can trust Lisbeth 1000%. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Ponchik.”

“Our dogs love Marianne! We feel so much more relaxed leaving home knowing our dogs are in her care. We also really appreciate the pictures of the dogs she sends our way!”

About: I grew up next to a dog park and spent most of my free time around dogs, learning their personalities, body language, and energy naturally from a young age. I began pet sitting during my teen and college years, and over time developed a strong ability to help animals feel safe, comfortable, and understood. While attending school in Boston, I also worked at a pet supply shop, where I regularly interacted with dogs and their owners and further developed my understanding of pet care, behavior, routines, and different personality types. Professionally, I work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and caregiver, which has strengthened my skills in patience, consistency, structure, emotional awareness, and reading behavior cues. I’m especially good with sensitive, shy, anxious, high-energy, or routine-oriented pets because I naturally bring a grounded and calming presence. I understand the importance of reliability, communication, and maintaining routines that help pets feel secure while their owners are away. Whether that means energetic walks and playtime, quiet companionship, or extra attentiveness to specific needs, I adapt to each pet individually. I also have experience caring for pets in clients’ homes and understand the importance of respecting both the animal’s environment and the family’s space. Pet care fits very naturally into my routine, and I genuinely enjoy creating consistent, attentive care for animals throughout the week. Currently, I’m available for morning care and walks until noon, as well as evening care after 7 PM on weekdays. I also have open availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for pet sitting, extended care, and overnight stays. I enjoy incorporating walks, outdoor time, play, feeding routines, and calm companionship into my schedule, and I’m committed to providing reliable and consistent care that helps pets feel comfortable and secure. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment where pets can feel secure and cared for while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to maintain their normal routines, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, rest, medications (if needed), and overall structure. I understand that consistency helps pets feel more relaxed and emotionally settled, especially when their family is away. I pay close attention to body language, behavior changes, energy levels, and each pet’s individual personality and needs. My background as a caregiver and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) has strengthened my attentiveness, patience, and ability to remain calm and observant in different situations. I’m respectful of clients’ homes, reliable with communication, and committed to keeping both pets and owners comfortable throughout the experience. Safety is always my top priority during walks, outdoor time, feeding, and supervision. I aim to create an experience where pets feel genuinely cared for — not just watched.
“Taryn was a great sitter, who was neat and considerate and who left a very content dog when she left our house. Our return plans were uncertain due to weather in CO but Taryn was more than willing to adjust her schedule to accommadate ours and Buddy's needs. Would definitely call on her again.”

“Very nice and super accommodating! It was my first time leaving my two working dogs to be watched by someone and she did an amazing job! She was super flexible and was great with the dogs. She sent me photos and updates after every visit/walk. I will definitely look for her to watch my dogs again!”

“Taylor was so awesome! She sent lots of photos and made me feel super comfortable leaving my pups with her because she is kind, professional, and clearly bonded with the dogs right away. We were only gone one night and my dogs didn’t want her to leave. Will definitely book with her in the future!”

“Greta was GREAT! Throughout the whole process she has been prompt with communication and oh so pleasant. She clearly developed a caring and affectionate relationship with our dog and she was well cared for during our vacation. She also kept us appraised of their activities with plenty of photos, which clearly showed that Tilly was well cared for and having fun. She also took good care of our home and we returned to a clean and orderly house! Always a plus after vacation. I would recommend Greta without reservation.”

“All I can say that you can trust your fur baby to Valery without any hesitation. Our 6 years old Samoyed Ponchik loved her very much. She always was on top of it to send us videos and photos while we were away. Spoiled our baby :))) with love and treats. We'll definitely will use her help in the future as well. Thank you for everything Valery.”

“Sonia was fantastic with our dog. It was a huge comfort having someone who is so experienced with veterinary medicine taking care of our older frenchie with some health issues. Highly recommend”

“Truly exceptional in every way! We were pretty nervous about using rover for in-house sitting for the first time but Alexis made us feel so comfortable and made everything seamless. Most importantly, Bucky loved her right away and he is an excellent judge of character ☺️. Alexis sent lots of photos and even video updates so we knew he was doing great and being well cared for every day. It takes a special person to take on a very large dog in a new space and Alexis was everything we could hope for in a sitter. And she left our home looking perfect too! So grateful for her care and would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a kind, considerate, and extremely competent sitter for their fur baby.”

“Jenna was wonderful. She had the very challenging task of watching our 4 month old golden doddle. Jenna was great with keeping Molly busy with walks and play. She is a 5 start sitter, and a wonderful person with a kind and loving heart. Please do not hesitate in using Jenna, as she is a such a professional and caring dog sitter!!”

FAQs for House Sitting - Carmel Valley Manor
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 750 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Carmel Valley Manor. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Carmel Valley Manor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Carmel Valley Manor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Carmel Valley Manor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
