“I can’t say enough about how great of a dog sitter Susan was. She took absolutely amazing care of our two pups and treated them like queens. She gave us daily text updates of their adventures which were reassuring (and entertaining) to read along with daily photos. It is evident she genuinely loves and cares about dogs and we couldn't have left our digs in better hands. Would book again without hesitation. Thank you, Susan!”

About: Home full-time and just steps from miles of walking trails, your dog will enjoy plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship throughout the day. We currently have Loki, our friendly 5-year-old Golden Retriever, who loves other dogs, playing outside, and spending time with our two boys. Our boys absolutely love dogs and are gentle, affectionate, and excited to help make visiting dogs feel like part of the family. Boarding with us means your dog will be welcomed into a real home — not treated like just another booking. We only board one dog at a time, which allows us to give your dog plenty of attention, keep the environment calm, and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. We do not have a fenced yard, but we have a large, wooded yard (.6 acres) where dogs can safely enjoy time outside on a lead. We also live right by a regional walking/biking trail, so frequent walks and outdoor time are easy and part of our routine. I am comfortable caring for all dogs, including senior dogs, rescue dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, and dogs who need a little extra patience or reassurance. I have experience giving medications, crate training, leash walking, basic obedience, and helping dogs settle into a new environment. I am active and outdoorsy, so dogs who enjoy walks, playtime, and being part of family life will fit in well here. For everyone’s safety and comfort, visiting dogs must be potty trained, kid-friendly, and non-aggressive. They do not need to be crate trained. We are not currently accepting puppies. Our goal is simple: to give your dog a safe, loving, active place to stay where they get the kind of care we would want for our own dog. My husband and I both work from home on alternating schedules, so caring for dogs are part of our normal daily rhythm. We are available throughout the day for potty breaks, attention, feeding, walks, and check-ins. We live right on a regional trail, which makes daily walks easy, and we also spend time outside in our large yard with dogs safely on a lead. Pet care naturally fits into our family routine — walks, playtime, downtime, and lots of love. Your dog can expect a warm, active family home with plenty of attention, outdoor time, and affection. Because we only board one guest dog at a time, your dog will get personalized care, a calm environment, and lots of time with our friendly Golden Retriever, Loki. We want dogs to feel comfortable, safe, and included while you are away. We have a large yard, but it is not fenced, so visiting dogs are always kept safe on a lead when outside. Our home includes two dog-loving boys and our friendly Golden, so visiting dogs should be kid-friendly, potty trained, and comfortable around another dog. We can crate your dog if that is part of their normal routine, but crate training is not required. We are happy to follow your dog’s feeding, medication, walking, and sleep routines as closely as possible to help them feel secure.

“Emily was absolutely amazing with our dog, Roxie! She was very upfront in warning us that her dog, Elliot, can come on a little strong at first (which he definitely did lol) but he and Roxie became best friends almost immediately after. Emily sent tons of pictures and videos throughout the stay, which made us feel so comfortable knowing Roxie was happy and having fun. It was obvious from every update how much Roxie loved her. We would absolutely trust Emily with Roxie again and highly recommend her!”

“My dog had so much fun with Promise and her family! Promise sent updates and was easy to communicate with. She took great care of my pet. I will book again with her!”

“Hyeyoon was really accommodating through the entire process from meet-n-greet through pick up. She sent photos and updates everyday showing Scarlet looked very comfortable with Hyesyoon’s family. Would recommend and will be booking again when she is available.”

“Wesley was fantastic with our dog while for four nights of boarding. He was exceptionally good at communicating, sending updaters with photos, and making us feel at ease even though we hadn’t worked with Wesley before. It was so lovely to pick our pup up from Wesley where he was smiling and clearly well cared for! We will definitely ask Wesley to help again in the future.”

“Tucker had a great stay at Sandy's house. He got along well with her two, well-behaved dogs. Tucker is 11 years old and and becoming less mobile all the time. Sandy was attentive to my concerns and I was very comfortable leaving him in her care. I would absolutely book a stay for Tucker with Sandy again.”

“Howie and his family were great! Super responsive and flexible and, most importantly, Lola seemed to have a wonderful stay. Will definitely re-book with him in the future!”

“Kiirsten was a great communicator before and during her care of my old, blind dog. I was confident that the dog was in a good place, which made my vacation stress free. Easy drop off and pick up. The experience couldn't have been better.”

“Jillien and her family were so amazing to Coco. Her daily communication and photos were just what we needed since this was the first time both of us had left Coco. We seriously could not be more pleased with Coco’s care and the love the entire family gave Coco. Coco was given so much social and play time we are afraid we won’t be able to keep up with the level of love she was given.”

“Allie was very responsive to every message. She was very personable during our interactions and her dog Duke was very friendly. She updated me once a day on how my dog was doing and in the end when I needed to extend the service for another day she was flexible with the change and it worked out great. Definitely will schedule with her again.”

“Bria was fantastic - I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her. She sent photos of him having fun in the backyard, which helped me feel better about leaving. I will be bringing him back next time we go on vacation!”

“Kelly and Zac were AMAZING hosts to our pup Kona. We’ve only ever had family watch our Kona, so we were a little nervous to try something new. We had nothing to fear. Kelly and Zach made Kona feel right at home. They sent daily updates, took her on walks, and gave her all the love! Highly recommend :)”

“Our active springer spaniel had a great stay with Kristen and her family. We did a short half day stay and later an overnight and she was excited to see Kristen again. We will for sure book stays in the future.”

“Rosemarie and Gerald did a great job taking care of our two elderly dogs. One of our dogs really struggles with mobility issues, and they were very patient and caring with her. Great communication from them as well with lots of pics and updates.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Deephaven
Isabelle responded quickly & was so friendly and flexible with my schedule changes & many questions since it was my 1st time using Rover. Bentley was welcomed with open arms and got along great with her 2 dogs. I knew he'd be in great hands and get all the love and play time he needed. Isabelle sent me photos which really put me at ease to know he was safe and having a great time. He came home exhausted and happy. I couldn't ask for a more loving caregiver than IsabelIe and she only lives 2 blks from my home. Thank you, I will definitely be calling her again. .

Knowing your dog is in a caring and trusted place is the #1 priority in choosing a dog sitter while your away and Cindy and Blaine more than filled this requirement with dairy updates on our pup and short communications on his day. These two are outstanding sitters and we will be using them again. Thank you for taking care of Iggy so well while we were gone.

My dogs clearly enjoyed themselves and I appreciated getting daily updates with photos. Two of my dogs can be fussy and particular about meals and that was handled well. I felt a high level of comfort in leaving my dogs with them and it helped me enjoy my trip so much more. I will definitely book again without hesitation.

I never had to worry about my dog while I was away because it was clear he was in good hands! He got daily walks and had lots of space to run outside with their dog who is super sweet. I got frequent pictures and updates to show me he was happy and healthy. I would definitely board my dog with them again!

Darby LOVED Courtney! She was a pleasure to communicate with, easy to figure out details, and sent a ton of photos and feedback while he was there. He truly not only was treated like he was at home, he felt like it! We will definitely be rebooking with Courtney when we need to and are so thankful that there are no worries whatsoever in having Darby stay with her. HIGHLY recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
