“Our 5-year old Golden had the best time with Kimberly, John, their kids, and their Golden - the entire family gave Sunny so much love. We received daily updates/pictures to show the fun she was having - walks, fetch, tug, cuddles, outside time, etc. This was the first time that Sunny stayed with them, but won’t be the last. Having a family who treats your dog like their own is priceless. She can’t wait to go back!”

“We left our elderly dog with Derek for a long weekend. Derek did an excellent job of sending pictures and keeping us updated as to how Scooter was doing. We were impressed and will use Derek again in the future!”

“Shreya watched my 4 year old Bernedoodle for 10 days. From the meet and greet, I could tell he would be in good, attentive hands. When I went to pick him up, he stood in the foyer with an “I live here now” look on his face. Clearly, he had a good time! My return flight was delayed and Shreya was very accommodating with modifying pickup. The videos she sent helped put my dog-mom heart at ease. I highly recommend Shreya to care for your fur babies!”

“I’m so incredibly grateful to Promise for taking such amazing care of my precious Luna while I was out of town. It’s never easy leaving my pup behind, but knowing she was in such loving and attentive hands gave me complete peace of mind. Promise treated Luna like her own—kept me updated, gave her plenty of playtime and cuddles, and made sure she felt right at home. I could tell Luna was so happy and well cared for. I wouldn’t hesitate to trust Promise again—she’s truly the best!”

“Andrew, Venessa and kids did a fabulous job looking after Lyla. We are extremely pleased with the care that Lyla received. Lyla had lots of fun and she was extremely comfortable. The communication was great with updates and pictures. We will definitely be reaching out to them for future needs.”

“Coco has stayed with Kj several times. As is typical, she had a great time over the 4th of July holiday. It is worth mentioning that coco is afraid of fireworks, & this was the first time that we left her with a sitter on the 4th. It is a strong statement about the trust we have in Kj.”

“Sandy took great care of my pup Lena and I appreciated her updates. She even took her to her favorite indoor dog park so she could keep playing with her friends while we were on vacation.”

“Ramanda and her family took such great care of Winnie while we were gone for the weekend. We got daily updates and pictures, and she looked so happy and well taken care of. Thanks for being her home for the weekend! 🥰”

About: What sets me apart is my reliability, patience, and genuine love for animals. I grew up with a cat and later cared for our family German Shorthaired Pointer for many years. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I’ll follow your care instructions carefully to keep them happy, comfortable, and safe. I’ll treat your pet like family and provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I work primarily from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide plenty of attention, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and companionship throughout the day. I occasionally work from the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but my schedule is flexible. Our home is calm, loving, and pet-friendly. My children (ages 10 and 12) are kind, respectful, and love animals. Any interaction they have with your pet is always supervised by me. We offer boarding on weekends and weekday stays of up to one week (Friday through Friday), ensuring your pet receives consistent care, attention, and lots of love. I live in a clean, cozy townhouse with plenty of nearby walking paths and open green spaces for walks, exercise, and fresh air. To ensure every pet has enough room to relax and feel comfortable, I only accept small to medium-sized dogs up to 40 pounds for boarding. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions, so they feel safe, happy, and like at home.
“We had the most positive experience leaving our dog for a week in the care of Kay and her family. Their home provided Tilly with all the stimulation, exercise, attention and, above all, love that she could need. Plenty of updates, anecdotes and photos kept us worry-free, knowing she was in such a blessed place. We hope to bring Tilly to see Kay again, when the opportunity arises.”

“We left our dog with Brittney for a full week while we were on vacation. It was our first experience with Rover and we were beyond pleased with our experience and the care Pippa received! We will absolutely be choosing Brittney again for future dog sitting needs we have.”

“Lori was amazing! She made Nipsey feel like a part of the family! She updated me everyday and sent pictures of Nipsey. Nipsey definitely enjoyed himself and we will most certainly book her again!”

“We have had a really great experience with Barbara! We left our dog Frankie with her during our 19 day stay in Arizona! We got daily updates on how she was doing and I really felt that she was in good hands! It was very easy and fast to communicate with Barbara as well, before the booking and during her stay. We always received quick replies so that was great. She was very flexible with pick up times since we arrived fairly late at night. So we have already booked our dogs next stay with her for another upcoming trip!”

“Julie did a great job caring for my dog while we were away for a week. She has a very spacious backyard for dogs to roam and she’s able to give the care and attention your dog needs. I have peace of mind knowing my dog is in good hands when she needs boarding 🙂”

“Hather had an amazing time with Kyle, who took the best care of our big old guy and was attentive to his needs. Thanks Kyle for making a home-away-from-home for our dog!”

“Leigh did a great job with our two dogs. She sent pictures and kept us updated. It gave us piece of mind knowing they were in good hands while we were on vacation. She stayed up with our dog during a bad thunderstorm in the middle of the night. Thank you Leigh! Will book again.”

“Wesley was absolutely wonderful with my dog, Frankie. From the moment I dropped him off, it was evident that Frankie was treated like family and genuinely well cared for. Wesley and his parents have a beautiful home with a secure, fenced-in yard, which made us feel incredibly comfortable. We were able to travel out of the country with complete peace of mind knowing my dog was safe, happy, and truly prioritized. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Wesley to anyone looking for exceptional care. I received photos and updates. We look forward to planning our next adventure and rebooking with Wesley!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
