“Great family and great experience. We had a last minute need and Carine and Eric were very accommodating, sent lots of updates, and we can tell our dog was safe and well taken care of.”

“I had a last minute trip come up, and needed someone to watch my dog Nala on short notice. I rarely travel, and I work from home so I was a little worried about her separation anxiety. Amanda took amazing care of Nala, made sure she felt comfortable and safe. She provided regular photo updates, as well as keeping me informed of how Nala was eating and sleeping, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. Nala had a great time playing fetch, going for walks, and snuggling on the couch. Amanda even sent her home with a cute home-made treat box (all made of ingredients that were sensitive to Nala’s allergies!). I’ll definitely be booking with Amanda again next time I need pet care - Amanda, thank you again for taking such good care of Nala!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter than Shreya. She boarded our dog for a full week and treated him like family. She was attentive, patient, and very communicative, sending frequent updates and photos. Our dog came back relaxed and happy, which says everything. It’s clear she genuinely loves dogs. We will definitely use her services again and strongly recommend her.”

“Our dog Rio had a BLAST with Rachelle and Dan. They were very detailed oriented when it came to Rio’s special needs. They also sent the perfect amount of updates and pictures throughout the stay. Definitely will book again!”

“This was our 1st time leaving our pup Dixie with Kyle and his wonderful family, but hopefully not the last! We felt so at ease knowing she was in great hands with Kyle, and not in a cramped kennel at a boarding facility. Thank you again, Kyle, for taking such great care of Dixie! We’ll be back!😁”

“Our pup had a great time with this host! Timmothy was super flexible on drop off and pick up times and over all he made our last minute request feel stress free. I would definitely recommend Timmothy!”

“Auggie had a great time with Logan and his new animal friends. I was very thankful to find someone with such a great background with animals on such short notice. She sent pictures and updates each day and Auggie still tells me how much he misses her. I would definitely recommend Logan and would love to be able to work with her again in the future.”

“Regina was so great! She was so loving with my “little” 65 pound puppy named Murphy 😆 this was our first time using Rover and she made me feel so comfortable. We had a meet and greet, and right away Regina was so accommodating. She introduced Murphy to the other dogs and I could tell how much of a dog lover she is. She is responsive and sent pics. I’ll absolutely book with Regina again!”

“I cannot say enough good things about Tracy. I was genuinely so nervous boarding my dogs for the first time, and from the very beginning she made me feel completely at ease. She was warm, patient, reassuring, and so communicative the entire time. What really stood out to me is how naturally comfortable my dogs were with her. You can tell she truly understands animals and cares about them like they’re her own. She sent updates and photos, answered my anxious first-time-boarder questions with so much kindness, and made the whole experience feel safe and personal. Finding someone you can actually trust with your dogs is huge, and Tracy is absolutely that person. I’m so grateful we found her and would recommend her in a heartbeat.”

“Derek and his family were wonderful caregivers for our dog Zoey for 10 days. Zoey came home happy and healthy and it was apparent she adores Derek! We are so grateful and will use Derek again in the future.”

“Brenda and Alvin provide awesome dog care, especially with new pets. They do everything they can to make the dog feel comfortable and well cared for. Our dog initially was a little anxious and nervous. Brenda and Alvin gave her space and time to adjust but also coaxed her out of her crate and gave her attention, play time and walks. They also kept me informed twice a day with reports and pictures to let me know how Wednesday was doing. I can’t thank them enough or praise them enough for their wonderful care of our dear little girl!”

“Beth and Evan were amazing with our St. Bernard, Lucy!!! This was our first time leaving Lucy with pet sitters and were a little nervous. They sent us updates, photos, and videos everyday of our 2 week trip. Lucy was given lots of personal attention and cuddles! We couldn’t have asked for better sitters.”

“Howie and his family were great! Super responsive and flexible and, most importantly, Lola seemed to have a wonderful stay. Will definitely re-book with him in the future!”

“Emily and her family took the BEST care of our dog, Archie. They made Archie feel right at home. I was sent pictures that showed just how comfortable Archie was, he was happy and truly, living his best life!! Emily's family dog, Maggie, was so sweet and the two dogs really seemed to get along well. I would absolutely recommend Emily for your pet's stay. Her and her family were SO kind and easy to communicate with, very prompt and helpful. This was our first "Rover" experience and I feel so fortunate we found this wonderful family.”

“Kiersa was awesome! She watched our dog, Millie for 10 days while we were on vacation. She was honest and upfront about having other pets staying with her. She was responsive and shared reassuring photos when we checked in (mostly photos of Millie chilling on the couch with other dogs). Highly recommended.”

“Leza was absolutely incredible caring for my dog. We were given frequent pictures and updates throughout the day and our dog always looked relaxed and happy. I would whole heartedly recommend Leza as a great pet sitter.”

“I took a "mini" vacation to Florida a couple weeks ago. My Havenees Poodle mix "Jackson" bonded with Judy immediately. All he wanted to do was be around her & beg for attention & belly scratches. Judy followed the meal plan & even took him to Mcdonalds (at my request) so he could have some French ? Fries! He LOVES their fries! Judy would send a picture of Jackson each day & I really enjoyed seeing his smiling face. Judy also has a big back yard for "doggie exercise" There were no issues or concerns whatsoever. When I came back from my vacation, my Jackson was in good health & was wagging his tail. Judy is great. I will definitely ? use her in the future. One word of warning...her schedule fills up FAST! I give Judy 5 out of 5 stars.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
