“Kiersa was wonderful with our dog. She was kind, caring and clearly had experience caring for animals. She was very responsive whenever I communicated with her. She made me feel very comfortable leaving our dog in her care. We will definitely use her again!”

“Our dog Rio had a BLAST with Rachelle and Dan. They were very detailed oriented when it came to Rio’s special needs. They also sent the perfect amount of updates and pictures throughout the stay. Definitely will book again!”

“Maria and her family were so wonderful to work with! My dog stayed with her for 10 days for his first stay and her communication was amazing. Pictures and updates each day! And so flexible with pick up and drop off times. Our plans changed a few times before the stay took place and then we had a delayed flight returning home, and she was happy to work with us and our changing schedule. Will totally use her services again!!”

“Emily and her family took the BEST care of our dog, Archie. They made Archie feel right at home. I was sent pictures that showed just how comfortable Archie was, he was happy and truly, living his best life!! Emily's family dog, Maggie, was so sweet and the two dogs really seemed to get along well. I would absolutely recommend Emily for your pet's stay. Her and her family were SO kind and easy to communicate with, very prompt and helpful. This was our first "Rover" experience and I feel so fortunate we found this wonderful family.”

“Brenda and Alvin were the perfect fit our dog. We feel lucky to have found them on Rover. They are former dog owners and clearly enjoy them. The daily photo’s they sent and text updates left us at ease, able to enjoy our vacation without worry. We’ll definitely reach out again.”

“If you're looking for the best, no need to search any further. Leza did an amazing job watching Maxwell (our 12 year Labradoodle) for a full week. He has separation anxiety when we leave him anywhere, but didn't experience any of that with Leza. She honed in pretty quick on what his hot buttons were which were walks and of course his treats. There was some medication administration that she had no issues with doing. He was the same happy boy when we picked him up that he was when we dropped him off, which was a first for us. Thanks Leza, Maxwell had an awesome stay with you and is now his preferred stay provider.”

“Ashley took such good care of our fur baby ❤️ She kept us updated throughout the stay and sent us pictures every time she could. Don’t hesitate to book with her and her family, they love animals and take good care of them. Such a great family! We will book again when needed, thank you! ❤️”

“Timmothy is hands down our first choice with our dog when we go out of town! Todd absolutely loves his time at Timmothy’s, and we trust him completely. Highly recommend!”

“Zoe enjoyed romping in the big backyard and enjoyed the added attention she received. I appreciated that Kyle was willing to take Zoe over the Thanksgiving Holiday. I would not hesitate to recommend Kyle.”

“Our dog Memphis was well cared for by Nikolai and his family. Easy meet and greet and great communication. Memphis takes meds daily, and there were no issues. Memphis loved the huge back yard, and hanging with the family. Will definitely book again!”

“Chico has stayed with many Rover sitters and Promise felt the most like a true dog lover. She sent pics and videos daily and communication was great! Chico was clearly loved, highly recommend!”

“Brandi did an amazing job boarding my dog for three nights! She was caring, reliable, and kept me updated, which gave me great peace of mind. My dog had such a wonderful time and even made a new best friend with Lani. I truly appreciate the love and attention she gave him — we’ll definitely book with her again! 🐾💕”

“Megan and Brandon were very accommodating and responsive. My dog was able to run around their wonderful fenced in backyard and play with their two dogs. I had full confidence in their ability to take care of him.”

“I appreciated Dayjah being able to take Willie on short notice for 24 hours when I had to go out of town. He came back happy, and tired! The only glitch is that Willie didn’t take well to Dayjah’s cat, so she had to keep him separated from the kitty and that was probably an inconvenience for Dayjah! Willie apologizes and blames it on the fact that he’s a JRT, and the only other acceptable animals on the face of the planet are dogs. Ohhh, Willie… Thanks, Dayjah!”

“Bini and Saurav took wonderful care of my two labradoodles during a 5 night stay. I regularly received updates and photos. As someone new to the area, it was such a relief to know my girls were in such good hands! Thank you so much!”
“Our dog had a great stay with Vanessa and Andrew’s family. I got a bunch of pictures, great communication and a happy dog when I picked her up. We will be back soon! Thank you!!”

“Winnie had another great stay with Kiirsten! We always know she is in good hands with her, and gets to have a ball running around a big backyard and playing with her kids. Thank you, Kiirsten!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Orono
Kate was incredible. Upon first meeting her, you can tell she loves dogs and also cares about the owners. She took the time to listen to the nuances of my dog, asked questions, and made both of us feel welcome and cared for. She has a fantastic location to take dogs for a walk, a fenced in back yard, and was super communicative, sending pictures and a text each morning. Wonderful human being!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
