About: Home full-time and just steps from miles of walking trails, your dog will enjoy plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship throughout the day. We currently have Loki, our friendly 5-year-old Golden Retriever, who loves other dogs, playing outside, and spending time with our two boys. Our boys absolutely love dogs and are gentle, affectionate, and excited to help make visiting dogs feel like part of the family. Boarding with us means your dog will be welcomed into a real home — not treated like just another booking. We only board one dog at a time, which allows us to give your dog plenty of attention, keep the environment calm, and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. We do not have a fenced yard, but we have a large, wooded yard (.6 acres) where dogs can safely enjoy time outside on a lead. We also live right by a regional walking/biking trail, so frequent walks and outdoor time are easy and part of our routine. I am comfortable caring for all dogs, including senior dogs, rescue dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, and dogs who need a little extra patience or reassurance. I have experience giving medications, crate training, leash walking, basic obedience, and helping dogs settle into a new environment. I am active and outdoorsy, so dogs who enjoy walks, playtime, and being part of family life will fit in well here. For everyone’s safety and comfort, visiting dogs must be potty trained, kid-friendly, and non-aggressive. They do not need to be crate trained. We are not currently accepting puppies. Our goal is simple: to give your dog a safe, loving, active place to stay where they get the kind of care we would want for our own dog. My husband and I both work from home on alternating schedules, so caring for dogs are part of our normal daily rhythm. We are available throughout the day for potty breaks, attention, feeding, walks, and check-ins. We live right on a regional trail, which makes daily walks easy, and we also spend time outside in our large yard with dogs safely on a lead. Pet care naturally fits into our family routine — walks, playtime, downtime, and lots of love. Your dog can expect a warm, active family home with plenty of attention, outdoor time, and affection. Because we only board one guest dog at a time, your dog will get personalized care, a calm environment, and lots of time with our friendly Golden Retriever, Loki. We want dogs to feel comfortable, safe, and included while you are away. We have a large yard, but it is not fenced, so visiting dogs are always kept safe on a lead when outside. Our home includes two dog-loving boys and our friendly Golden, so visiting dogs should be kid-friendly, potty trained, and comfortable around another dog. We can crate your dog if that is part of their normal routine, but crate training is not required. We are happy to follow your dog’s feeding, medication, walking, and sleep routines as closely as possible to help them feel secure.
“Sadie did a fabulous job with Dash and getting him plenty of playtime and exercise. He seemed to enjoy himself and was exhausted when we picked him up. Will rebook again when we need it!”

“William took care of our Mini Schnauzer for 11 days while we were at a national conference. He sent daily photos and words about our dog. This was a daily refresher for us knowing our dog was in good hands. Communicating with William was superb!”

“After our meet & greet with Beth, we knew River would be in good hands. As a rescue, his care is somewhat unique. Beth did a professional job assimilating him into her home and in meeting her dogs. We feel very fortunate to have found her and highly recommend her to other pet owners.”

“Brittany was awesome watching our dog, Scooter. Scooter is an old dog- doesn't see or hear well and she was very patient with him. She sent us daily pictures and updates on how he was doing. Will definitely reach out again!”

“Kim and John were great! It was our first time leaving our puppy somewhere while we were out of town and we could not be happier that we found them. Axel had a blast, we got plenty of updates (which we greatly appreciate) and he was very well taken care of :)”

“Kristen and her family were incredible to our dogs. They were very accommodating to their needs. They allowed them to chew up the toys we brought for them and were cool with the mess that came along with it. The treats that were provided were given out. Kristen was very flexible with drop off pick up time. I was pleasantly surprised to see my dogs were not the excised to see me when I returned to pick them up. Which truly tells me that they were given a ton of love attention and affection. I’m very thankful that they watched our dogs. I definitely will use them again.”
“Absolutely Amazing! I couldn’t feel more comfortable with this sitter. I needed to do some tasks, they got done perfectly. The pictures that this sitter continuously sends keeps me unworried to give my dog to them whenever I need to do so!”

“Kate was a wonderful sitter for our golden doodle! She sent us photos every day of Dakota out for walks or romping in her back yard. We knew she was in good hands, and it was clear that Kate was crazy about her. We would not hesitate to use Kate again and recommend her to others!”

“What a blessing Trace is! Her place couldn't be better suited for dog care. A huge fenced in yard front pirch & dog run. She also has 4 Basset hounds!! Lily took immediate attention to Teddy. Such a wonderful time she had.She is so kind, knowledgeable and detailed oriented. My 3 mo Great Pyrenees...Lily Lu felt right @ home. Didn't even look back at me to say goodbye! I have her on speed dial and looking forward to many outings to her home for Lily Lu! She's the best!! So is her grandson, Evan!”

“Cherie took great care of our tiny puppy! She was responsive and kept us updated daily with photos and more. She made our pup feel at home and we felt so safe leaving our dog in her care with lots of walks and potty breaks. We highly recommend Cherie and will be using her again!!!”

“Leigh and family were fantastic when watching our lil Ricky for an extended weekend. Super communicative with updates, very receptive to his needs, and their two corgis Winston and Waffles are cute as can be and kept up with Ricky’s desire to play 24/7! Strong recommend!”

“I always worry when I leave Brandy somewhere and I can’t be with her. I had ZERO worries with Diana! She was also very accommodating with a last minute change. I received pictures periodically to see how Brandy was doing which was very nice as well. I will definitely be contacting Diana in the future!”

“My dog had a great stay! Manami was great with Kyrah and sent lots of pictures of her while I was away. I know my dog has a lot of issues with anxiety in new people, but Manami took care of her like she was her own dog. Recommend and would book again! :)”

“Sylvia did a wonderful job with my cat, Lucky. She has a lot of experience and was great to work with. Communication was excellent and the daily pictures were awesome! Definately will use again! Thanks!!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
