“Sadie was so great with our little pup! She has really friendly pets that aided in more fun and friends for him! She’s great with updates with pictures and even took him to the dog park a few times! Thanks Sadie!”

“Regina was so great! She was so loving with my “little” 65 pound puppy named Murphy 😆 this was our first time using Rover and she made me feel so comfortable. We had a meet and greet, and right away Regina was so accommodating. She introduced Murphy to the other dogs and I could tell how much of a dog lover she is. She is responsive and sent pics. I’ll absolutely book with Regina again!”

“John and Gretchen did an amazing job taking care of Ginger! They gave her so much love and attention, along with frequent walks and fun outings. She settled right in at their home and was treated like family. We received daily updates with photos and could relax and enjoy our vacation knowing she was in their excellent care. Highest recommendation and 5 stars! Will definitely be booking again next time we travel.”

“Andrew and his girls are amazing! This was our first time using a dog sitter other then family. Our Dog Cabo has a great time and loved all the attention that he received from them all. Andrew went above and beyond with Cabo and sent us updates and photos through out the week. Our kids loved to see Cabo being taken care of and well loved as much as we did. I would highly recommend Andrew and his girls to any one looking for a dog sitter. We will for sure have Cabo back to stay with them! Thanks for a great week!!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! William took such amazing care of our pup—he slept soundly, got plenty of walks, and was treated like family. William was incredibly thoughtful, even sending him home with a sweet gift bag, a magnet with his picture, and a heartfelt card. We felt so at ease knowing our dog was in such loving and attentive hands. Highly recommend William to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet like their own. Thank you so much!”

“Marina took good care of our pets and we could tell that she is definitely a dog person. We saw that both dogs were enjoying their cuddles in the picture we received. We are rarely separated from them, so it was nice to have no worries. Marina’s home is lovely and well equipped with pet toys and a feeding station. We noticed the surrounding grounds were nice for walking the dogs. We will rebook should the need arise.”

I will absolutely be booking with her again—anyone would be lucky to have Emily watch their dogs!”

“Maya had an excellent weekend stay with Leigh. Leigh provided regular updates and took Maya on a long walk each day with her two Corgis. Leigh was also very flexible and accommodating when our return flight to Minneapolis was delayed by over 5 hours. We would definitely use Leigh again.”

About: Home full-time and just steps from miles of walking trails, your dog will enjoy plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship throughout the day. We currently have Loki, our friendly 5-year-old Golden Retriever, who loves other dogs, playing outside, and spending time with our two boys. Our boys absolutely love dogs and are gentle, affectionate, and excited to help make visiting dogs feel like part of the family. Boarding with us means your dog will be welcomed into a real home — not treated like just another booking. We only board one dog at a time, which allows us to give your dog plenty of attention, keep the environment calm, and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. We do not have a fenced yard, but we have a large, wooded yard (.6 acres) where dogs can safely enjoy time outside on a lead. We also live right by a regional walking/biking trail, so frequent walks and outdoor time are easy and part of our routine. I am comfortable caring for all dogs, including senior dogs, rescue dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, and dogs who need a little extra patience or reassurance. I have experience giving medications, crate training, leash walking, basic obedience, and helping dogs settle into a new environment. I am active and outdoorsy, so dogs who enjoy walks, playtime, and being part of family life will fit in well here. For everyone’s safety and comfort, visiting dogs must be potty trained, kid-friendly, and non-aggressive. They do not need to be crate trained. We are not currently accepting puppies. Our goal is simple: to give your dog a safe, loving, active place to stay where they get the kind of care we would want for our own dog. My husband and I both work from home on alternating schedules, so caring for dogs are part of our normal daily rhythm. We are available throughout the day for potty breaks, attention, feeding, walks, and check-ins. We live right on a regional trail, which makes daily walks easy, and we also spend time outside in our large yard with dogs safely on a lead. Pet care naturally fits into our family routine — walks, playtime, downtime, and lots of love. Your dog can expect a warm, active family home with plenty of attention, outdoor time, and affection. Because we only board one guest dog at a time, your dog will get personalized care, a calm environment, and lots of time with our friendly Golden Retriever, Loki. We want dogs to feel comfortable, safe, and included while you are away. We have a large yard, but it is not fenced, so visiting dogs are always kept safe on a lead when outside. Our home includes two dog-loving boys and our friendly Golden, so visiting dogs should be kid-friendly, potty trained, and comfortable around another dog. We can crate your dog if that is part of their normal routine, but crate training is not required. We are happy to follow your dog’s feeding, medication, walking, and sleep routines as closely as possible to help them feel secure.
“I never had to worry about my dog while I was away because it was clear he was in good hands! He got daily walks and had lots of space to run outside with their dog who is super sweet. I got frequent pictures and updates to show me he was happy and healthy. I would definitely board my dog with them again!”

“Our pup came home happy and well cared for. Kelly gave our dog enough exercise and even catered to our finicky eater. She was kind and treated our dog like her own! She also was easy to work with.”

“Hyeyoon was wonderful! She followed our dog’s daily routine to a tee and asked such thoughtful questions. We received pictures and updates each day. We will definitely use her again!”

“Abi was fantastic! Not only was she so sweet with my dog, Hudson, but she was just so helpful in the process. I felt like I didn’t need to worry about anything while I was traveling and she sent me regular updates and pictures and videos. Hudson has a great time and if definitely have Abi sit for him again.”

Isabelle responded quickly & was so friendly and flexible with my schedule changes & many questions since it was my 1st time using Rover. Bentley was welcomed with open arms and got along great with her 2 dogs. I knew he'd be in great hands and get all the love and play time he needed. Isabelle sent me photos which really put me at ease to know he was safe and having a great time. He came home exhausted and happy. I couldn't ask for a more loving caregiver than IsabelIe and she only lives 2 blks from my home. Thank you, I will definitely be calling her again. .

Knowing your dog is in a caring and trusted place is the #1 priority in choosing a dog sitter while your away and Cindy and Blaine more than filled this requirement with dairy updates on our pup and short communications on his day. These two are outstanding sitters and we will be using them again. Thank you for taking care of Iggy so well while we were gone.

Jeremiah (and fam) were an awesome match for our Luna girl. After the meet and greet went well we knew their dog Shadow and Luna would play well. Jeremiah communicated when needed and accommodated Luna’s needs (medication, quirks, etc). 10/10 would recommend Jeremiah for dog sitting again!

I never had to worry about my dog while I was away because it was clear he was in good hands! He got daily walks and had lots of space to run outside with their dog who is super sweet. Janel & Michelle were wonderful with Zen! While I was away, I got pictures of Zen out for a walks, sunbathing in sun rays, and getting snuggles in bed. I was told there were zoomies around the house as well! Zen had a good time and I had peace of mind during my vacation knowing he was well taken care of. Thank you so much!

Caitlyn and Daniel did an exceptional job taking care of our dog, Winnie! Winnie took a day or so to settle into their home and they were patient with her adjustment. Once settled, Winnie had fun playing, walking and hanging out with their family. Caitlyn did a great job sending me pictures and keeping me up to date with Winnie's time with their family. I highly recommend them for your pet!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
