“Leigh and family were fantastic when watching our lil Ricky for an extended weekend. Super communicative with updates, very receptive to his needs, and their two corgis Winston and Waffles are cute as can be and kept up with Ricky’s desire to play 24/7! Strong recommend!”

“We felt really comfortable when Toby stayed with Patricia. She is clearly a "dog person" and did a great job communicating during the time he was with her. We hope to use her services again!”

“We loved leaving Lutsen with Steven and Diane. We have an active playful pup and it was clear he felt right at home with them and their pack. We got regular pictures and could tell he was well loved. They sent him home all tuckered out which is a feat to say the least. Thank so much guys for taking good care of him! Lutsen can barely keep his eyes open tonight. I except it will take a few days for him to recharge.”

“Marina took good care of our pets and we could tell that she is definitely a dog person. We saw that both dogs were enjoying their cuddles in the picture we received. We are rarely separated from them, so it was nice to have no worries. Marina’s home is lovely and well equipped with pet toys and a feeding station. We noticed the surrounding grounds were nice for walking the dogs. We will rebook should the need arise.”

“Jenny did an amazing job and took wonderful loving care of my girl! She had a recent knee injury, and Jenny used great judgement in taking the best care with her activity and meds. She was easy to communicate with and has an ideal space for my dog to be comfortable and relaxed. Looking forward to Bernie's next visit!”

“I couldn’t have found a better person to take care of my Cavapoo while I was away. Angela took such good care of him for 5 days and kept me updated with details of his daily activities. I loved the photographs and descriptions she sent which put my mind at ease. I did worry that he wouldn’t want to leave. 😊”

“Bill went above and beyond taking care of our dog. Lots of walks, treats and snuggles. He kept us updated and sent lots of photos. Bill has great, positive energy. We will be sure to use him again.”

“Howie and Betsy, thank you so much for sharing your home with Bailey during my travels! This is the first time I’ve been away from him for an extended time, but I felt comfortable knowing that he would be cared for by someone who really enjoys dogs. I hope Bailey can be part of your family again now that travel is again possible!”

“Hyeyoon was wonderful! She followed our dog’s daily routine to a tee and asked such thoughtful questions. We received pictures and updates each day. We will definitely use her again!”

“We had a great experience with Miranda and family. From the start, communication was excellent and they also kept us updated with messages and photos, which made being away from our dog so much easier. It was clear our dog was well cared for and treated like part of their family. They paid attention to routines, and gave her plenty of attention and exercise. We really appreciated how welcoming and dependable they were, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring home for their pet!”

“Kristen & Nels made me feel so at ease during my weekend away. I got occasional picture updates to reassure me that my boy was having a good time. Great communicators!”

“We wanted to bring Baily two days early because of the impending snow storm. Laura was very accommodating and took him without issue. We received a photo the first day and a video clip the next. We appreciated that. Baily was dropped off on time and seemed to have enjoyed the time. Thank you Laura. We will certainly keep you in mind when we need a sitter again.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Barbara. She invited us for a meet and greet which gave us a chance to see how our Scruffy would get along with her dog and to get to know Barbara. She clearly loves dogs and made a point to get to know me and learn about Scruffy. By the end of the meet and greet (actually even after about 5 minutes!), I felt very comfortable. Scruffy stayed with Barbara for 6 days while we were out of town. She was very responsive and I am confident Scruffy was well-loved and cared for. We have another booking set up with her.”

“Winnie always has the best time with Kiirsten! Winnie cries with excitement when we get close enough to Kiirsten’s house for her to know where we’re going. Kiirsten is wonderful to work with and can’t wait to use her again!”

“I can't describe how happy I am that I found Lonni and Steve! I have a very hard time dropping off my chihuahua to be watched and the love that Lonni and Steve have for him puts me at ease. Their love and care for dogs is incredibly genuine and it shows. Rarely do I trust anyone with my dog and I was able to leave him with Lonni and Steve for 8 nights and was very comfortable that he was getting the absolute best care, attention and love. They watch out for his needs, make sure he is comfortable and even adjust their schedules around him. I'm so grateful that we found them and will continue to ask them to care for our little guy.”

About: Home full-time and just steps from miles of walking trails, your dog will enjoy plenty of exercise, attention, and companionship throughout the day. We currently have Loki, our friendly 5-year-old Golden Retriever, who loves other dogs, playing outside, and spending time with our two boys. Our boys absolutely love dogs and are gentle, affectionate, and excited to help make visiting dogs feel like part of the family. Boarding with us means your dog will be welcomed into a real home — not treated like just another booking. We only board one dog at a time, which allows us to give your dog plenty of attention, keep the environment calm, and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. We do not have a fenced yard, but we have a large, wooded yard (.6 acres) where dogs can safely enjoy time outside on a lead. We also live right by a regional walking/biking trail, so frequent walks and outdoor time are easy and part of our routine. I am comfortable caring for all dogs, including senior dogs, rescue dogs, dogs with separation anxiety, and dogs who need a little extra patience or reassurance. I have experience giving medications, crate training, leash walking, basic obedience, and helping dogs settle into a new environment. I am active and outdoorsy, so dogs who enjoy walks, playtime, and being part of family life will fit in well here. For everyone’s safety and comfort, visiting dogs must be potty trained, kid-friendly, and non-aggressive. They do not need to be crate trained. We are not currently accepting puppies. Our goal is simple: to give your dog a safe, loving, active place to stay where they get the kind of care we would want for our own dog. My husband and I both work from home on alternating schedules, so caring for dogs are part of our normal daily rhythm. We are available throughout the day for potty breaks, attention, feeding, walks, and check-ins. We live right on a regional trail, which makes daily walks easy, and we also spend time outside in our large yard with dogs safely on a lead. Pet care naturally fits into our family routine — walks, playtime, downtime, and lots of love. Your dog can expect a warm, active family home with plenty of attention, outdoor time, and affection. Because we only board one guest dog at a time, your dog will get personalized care, a calm environment, and lots of time with our friendly Golden Retriever, Loki. We want dogs to feel comfortable, safe, and included while you are away. We have a large yard, but it is not fenced, so visiting dogs are always kept safe on a lead when outside. Our home includes two dog-loving boys and our friendly Golden, so visiting dogs should be kid-friendly, potty trained, and comfortable around another dog. We can crate your dog if that is part of their normal routine, but crate training is not required. We are happy to follow your dog’s feeding, medication, walking, and sleep routines as closely as possible to help them feel secure.

Amanda was wonderful with our pup! She kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay and was very patient and understanding of our senior dog’s needs. Our pup was sad to leave when I picked her up. That’s how you know your dog is in good hands. I 100% recommend Amanda!

Ashley is great with our senior German Shepherd. She sent daily pictures and reports. It’s the first time my dog stayed in someone else’s home and I know she will be comfortable with Ashley the next time for sure. That is so reassuring! Ashley goes above and beyond to ensure her visiting dogs are well cared for and settled in calmly.

Janel & Michelle were wonderful with Zen! While I was away, I got pictures of Zen out for a walks, sunbathing in sun rays, and getting snuggles in bed. I was told there were zoomies around the house as well! Zen had a good time and I had peace of mind during my vacation knowing he was well taken care of. Thank you so much!

Bethany and Tony do an excellent job of taking care of our Gracie! During her most recent stay, her allergies kicked in, and they had to take her to her vet for an allergy shot. It was so reassuring to know that they were able to handle everything seamlessly while we were so far away. I know that Gracie is well-loved when she is at their home.

Another great stay with Sarah and family! Coco fit right in and seemed to have a ball! I’ve never left her for more than a couple of nights, so I was nervous to leave for 6 - but Sarah put my mind at ease and kept me updated throughout the stay. I was completely relaxed knowing that Coco was in excellent care. Thank you Sarah!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
