“Heather was amazing!!! My friend who was supposed to watch Luke had a last minute family emergency and I had to book Heather the night before I left. My buddy is 14 this month and had a bladder infection so I was going to cancel my trip until I met her and saw how comfortable Luke was. She took such incredible care of him making sure he finished his antibiotics and got all his supplements. I loved all the updates and photos. Highly recommend Heather for a senior dog or any dog you want well cared for. Thank you for allowing me the time to be with my family and not worry about my best buddy.”

“Rose was great! Stayed with our herd overnight and even managed to get our under-the-weather dog to take her meds. Our 3 cats warmed up to her really quickly and everyone was happy when we got home.”

About: I have lived with animals most of my life. While I currently do not own a pet, I have continued to surround myself with the animals of my friends and family. I started cat-sitting 2 years ago. When I pet sit, I aim to ensure a great experience for my furry friends. I am currently working part-time as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) and am flexible in my hours. I am currently a part-time Occupational Therapist, so I have flexibility in my schedule to take care of your furry friend. I have my own transportation as well. I work hard to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for your animal in their home environment. A detailed description of your animal's needs is much appreciated.
“I just had the best experience with our dogs care taker! She visited twice and took notes as I explained his routine. She went beyond just watching Toby...she played with him. She feed him his food on time. She was kind and had a compassion for animals. I would book her again! Thank you for caring for our little boy!”

“Me and my wife could not be any happier with the service that Megan provided. We've got a mixed house of 5 animals some of which have special needs, and she did an absolutely amazing job. We got pictures and communication every single day. Which is exactly what we requested. All the animals loved her, even the more skittish ones. If you need somebody to watch your animals and home, you could not pick a better person. I honestly can't say enough nice things about her. She's worth every penny.”

“Mariana deserves 6 stars, she has set the bar very high. This was our fist experience with her and she exceeded all expectations! She is an excellent communicator and sent pictures and updates throughout the week. My pup had wonderful adventures and lots of great walks which she thrives on. In addition to giving my pup the best care, she found time to tidy up my house, which was such a great surprise when arriving home exhausted. I will definitely be a return customer for Mariana unless she is too busy after receiving this review for me to book her. She is simply the best! 🏆🥇”

“Stephanie was very communicative and took good care of my pup and house. The place was clean upon my return and my dog seemed to be very happy spending time with Stephanie. Highly recommend”

“Skyler was great, she provided updates and communicated with us throughout our trip. She also left our house clean and in great condition, she even watered our flowers while we were away. We would not hesitate to book Skyler again.”

“Katey was amazing. She was very communicative and attuned to my pets needs and personalities. She was reliable and I came home to happy pets. I would definitely use her again!!”

“Emily was the perfect sitter for our pup! She was responsible and responsive, left our house without a trace of her being there, and was thoughtful and loving to our dog. We'll be hiring her again soon!”

About: I love animals! I have had animals most of my life. Growing up I had cats and dogs that I had to feed and take care of. I wanted to be a vet when I was a kid. I have had several different types of dogs, German Shepard, Labs, Border Collie mix and Golden Retrievers. I also have experience with small dogs. My parents had a couple that I would care for when they were out of town. I currently have 2 golden retrievers. I breeded them, and we had 3 litters of puppies. it was such a great experience. The third litter mama got sick when the puppies were 2 weeks old. We had 10 puppies to bottle feed for 2 weeks. it was a lot of work, but I loved holding them and feeding them, looking into their eyes while they were being fed. They were so adorable. I also helped cared for a litter of German shepard puppies for 1 week while one of the owners was a away. I had to bathe them, feed them, clean out the pen area. Lots of experience with puppies. I am lucky my roommate will care for my dogs, while I care for yours. I can administer medications, if you have a special needs dog I can care for them also. My female tore her ACL 2 years ago and had surgery. It took 12 weeks for her to heal. I had to be very careful so she did not injure it while she was healing. I love to walk dogs, I walk mine everyday. if you need me to come by and walk your pet or let them out to go potty and play, I would love to do that. I can also stay overnight at your house to take care of your pets. I know how important it is to find someone your trust to care for your fur babies. I travel too, and have used rover to find sitters and its always worked out great for me. I currently work full-time M-F. I plan to retire in a few years and want to do this full time. I am off work by 3:30 and can do play dates, or take the dogs for a walk. If you need to leave for a weekend, I can come watch your pet in your home. I can possibly work something out for during the week, if you need me to stay at your house during the week. I would care for your pets as if they were mine. I love animals and I know what its like to be a responsible pet owner. Our pets need a lot of attention and care. I will take verfy good care of them.
“EJ's attention to detail was exceptional. She thoroughly reviewed the information about Tessie, asked questions, and made sure that she understood Tessi's routine, and the house. Tessie had a medical emergency that required a visit to the vet. EJ handled the issue proffessionaly and compasionately and made sure the Tessie got the proper treatment, kept me informed, and followed up with the appropriate treatment when they returned home. Tessie is doing well. Tessie was well cared for while I was away. The house was spotless. EJ was exceptional.”

“Brittney and Megan were absolute angels!! From the moment I booked with them, they went above and beyond—checking in with me every day, sending the cutest, most beautiful photos of my babies, and most importantly, loving them like their own. 🥹💛 Knowing they were safe, snuggled, and genuinely cared for brought my anxiety down more than I can say. I could feel the warmth and peace they created in my absence. I will never be able to thank them enough—and I wouldn’t hesitate to book them again in a heartbeat. Truly the dream team. 💫🐾✨”

“Maeve met with us and coordinated a stay on short notice when our prior plans fell through. She sent regular updates and our dog seemed happy and well taken care of when we got home. We would work with Maeve again.”

“Adam is truly exceptional. I have three dogs—two young, feisty corgis who have a history of not getting along, and a senior dog, Barkley. Adam not only managed their dynamic with ease, he reintroduced the corgis and helped them re-establish a peaceful pack order—something I’ve struggled with for several months. He also gave my senior dog the time and attention he needs, including long walks at Pt. Defiance (Barkley’s favorite). I came home to a calmer, happier pack (something I had not accomplished on my own), which says everything. Adam is patient, intuitive, and clearly understands dog behavior. If you need someone who can handle more than just the basics, Adam is your guy. I trust him completely.”

“Audrey was a great house/cat/dog sitter. While she was caring for our pets over a week, it is notable that she gracefully and professionally handled: - A holiday - Unexpected and awful weather - Our 10 month old 85lb puppy with a case of stranger danger - a sprained ankle (see weather) Before the actual stay, Audrey made sure our shy dog was comfortable by setting up several meet-and-greets before our trip, bringing a gift for Charlie each time. It really helped our dog warm up and gave us piece of mind. During the stay, Audrey was an excellent communicator. We received daily picture of our pets and they made sure to check in if any questions came up. When we returned home, our house was spotless and our pets happy. They honestly seemed a little upset that we weren’t Audrey? We would absolutely recommend Audrey’s services. They are responsible, flexible, communicative, kind, and your pets will be loved. Audrey really went above and beyond. Thank you so much!”

“Willa helped me out in a really trick moment. She was easy to communicate with even though the Rover app made it difficult. I came home and Tara was happy and energized. Would love to book with Willa again.”

“Absolutely love Brigitta! She did a fantastic job with our pups - they were super happy to see her and she followed all instructions. Brigitta asked all the right questions and made us feel totally comfortable leaving our pups with her. Have already booked her again!”

Jessica is awesome, and so is George! Our dog Bria is very much a home body and picky about the humans she chooses to befriend. Bria and Jessica did great together, and Bria loved playing with George! Jessica communicates well and was a pleasure to work with. We would not hesitate to use Jessica again. Bria said it's okay, and she's the one we are trying to please! :-)

Sophia was very attentive to our little kitten. He is a ball of energy and as a single kitten, we worry about him being stressed or lonely while we are away. After a poor experience with a previous sitter, I wanted to find someone who understands cats and who would make him feel comfortable. Sophia did just that! I will definitely be looking to her for future kitty sitting :)

Danitra did so well with our animals and was very accommodating. This was our first time having a pet sitter at all, and we were concerned initially because our dogs aren't very sociable, but she did a great job winning them over and going the extra mile making them comfortable and keeping us in the loop too.

Linda was a fantastic sitter, we appreciated her excellent communication and perfect follow through, with all the complications of our trip it was so nice knowing that our pups and home were cared for so well. Linda was above and beyond and will be our go to for all future plans. Thank you Linda!

If I could give 10 stars I would! Becky is so awesome and the kids were bummed that it was just us coming in through the door. She taught our one doggy door scared son how to go thru the door and we are so appreciative! She kept us in the loop on all the happenings and we will be definitely be using her again. Thank you so much Becky!

Brianna did a great job house sitting for our 3 dogs. Showed up on time, great attitude, cares for animals, even checked in often on our old girl who doesn’t leave a bedroom when we’re not home. She made me feel comfortable and able to enjoy my time away knowing the dogs were in good hands. Would recommend her for your floofs!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Dash Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Dash Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dash Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
