About: Hello there! I’ve worked almost 4 years at a local animal rescue and have tons of experience caring for many different dogs (and cats) with varying ages, temperaments, personalities, and needs. I love them all! And almost always, they end up loving me! For 2 yrs I’ve been apart of a professional animal behavioral team that works with a certified trainer and behavioralist assessing some of our rescue’s more misunderstood dogs. Having a vet clinic at our rescue, I have plenty of experience medicating both dogs and cats. And caring for animals with special needs. I understand that our pets are our family and I treat every animal with total unconditional love and respect. I’ve had my dog for 8 yrs and she’s my everything.

Katielee was really good with and took really good care of our boys. Especially being very patient with our very shy terrier. Both grew very close to her. Katielee was very attentive to the long detailed list we left for her. She sent photos of boys regularly to keep us posted on how things were going. She is very much a pet loving person.

About: Hi, I'm Julia! Caring for and connecting with animals is a life passion and purpose of mine. I crave animal companionship but don’t have any pets of my own, so I’d love to care for yours. I adore and am confident caring for all kinds of creatures…and they love me, too! I have tons of experience with big dogs, puppies, anxious dogs, disabled animals, and all types of cat personalities. Even goats, horses, cows, rabbits, reptiles, and rodents all become my friends! I’m an outdoorswoman and would love to take your doggo on hikes, long walks, or to the beach. Got an athletic pup who needs a good run during the day? I've got you! A small pup who just needs cuddles and company? I'm game! I can't wait to meet and care for your beloved fur friends. My schedule is very flexible. I’m frequently outside hiking and running, and would love bring your dog along, or I’m happy to hang in the backyard…or on the couch! I can care for your animals however they need to be tended to. I usually to keep a new animal friends within eyesight at all times, unless they are napping.

About: What sets me apart is my combination of lifelong hands-on experience and professional knowledge of animal care. I’ve had dogs for most of my life and have always shared my home with cats. Growing up, my family bred our dog, and I helped raise and potty train the puppies before they went to their forever homes. That experience taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement from an early age. Today, I’m a high school Animal Science teacher, where I teach students about animal health, behavior, welfare, and responsible care. I enjoy working with dogs of all ages, especially reinforcing good manners and basic training. Friends and family often ask me for help with training their dogs, and I love helping build confidence through positive reinforcement. I’m also experienced administering medications and following detailed care instructions, so I’m comfortable caring for pets with special medical or daily care needs. Whether your pet is an energetic puppy, an adult dog who loves adventure, a senior who prefers a slower pace, or a cat who enjoys a calm companion, I’ll provide reliable, attentive, and compassionate care tailored to their individual needs. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, loved, and comfortable while giving you peace of mind through regular updates and photos. Since I’m a teacher on summer break I have lots of weekday availability right now. I have very flexible availability, if you don’t see the time/days you need on my schedule, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask. I have a fenced in yard and an XL wire kennel in a calm area your furry friend is welcome to use. My dog, Lady, is very sweet and gets along really well with other dogs (even her grumpy old cousin). She loves playing with others, but I can keep her separated as needed. My cat, Mister, he is okay with other dogs coming over and just hangs out in his own space until he can trust the new doggo. I will treat your pet with the love and care I give to mine. I will follow any rules, commands, and training practices that you use with your pet. I use force-free, reward-based training to build clear communication, trust, and reliable everyday behavior. I have experience with gentle leaders, no-pull harnesses, and structured collar systems when appropriate for safety and handling. I can help with: * Loose-leash walking & pulling * Leash reactivity / frustration * Basic obedience (sit, down, stay, recall) * Recall in distracting environments * Impulse control & leash manners My approach is tailored to each dog’s temperament and focuses on real-world success and consistency between sessions. I also make sure to review each pet’s profile so owners don’t have to repeat information. For severe aggression or complex behavioral cases, I’ll communicate honestly if a certified behaviorist may be a better fit.

About: Since being on my own, I have had some fur baby in my life. Both puppies and elders will be well loved here. We have a deep relationship with our own animals. All are fully vaccinated and attend their annual health checks. We also love on them when they ask us to, meeting their mental health needs as well. Husband is still working from home with no return to the office in sight. And we are a currently a multi-generational home. There will always be some human here to care for your furry family member. We have a huge, secure, fenced backyard and two dogs of our own. Your pup will be well exercised here and will come home exhausted (and maybe a little dirty). We also love cuddling with our fur babies, and will welcome any (reasonably sized) dogs onto our bed if that is where they feel comfortable, or we have room for a crate or any dog bed you want to bring. We feed our pooches 3x a day. But we find that most guests have a 2x per day routine, and will continue to hold your home routine. We also give oral medication to one of our pups, once a day.

About: I’ve been caring for pets for about 10 years, providing consistent, attentive care for dogs of different sizes and personalities. My experience includes daily walks, playtime, feeding routines, administering oral medications, light grooming such as brushing, and, most importantly, giving plenty of love and attention. I understand how important it is to maintain a pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I’m patient, observant, and attentive to each dog’s individual needs, whether that’s extra exercise, gentle care, or simply companionship. I am currently working 5 days a week, and will be available on my days off. I miss dog sitting/dog walking as a hobby and would love to start doing it again. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs at my house, so I prefer to take care of the pets at the owners home. I would care for them by playing, taking them outside as needed, staying on a feeding schedule and possibly bathing if the owners request !

About: I’ve been caring for pets since I was 8 years old, and I truly love animals of all kinds, big dogs, small dogs, energetic puppies, senior pets, and cats with every personality imaginable. Every pet deserves patience, attention, and lots of love, and that’s exactly what I provide. As a college student who takes classes online, I’m home most of the day, which means your pet will receive constant supervision, companionship, and attention. They will never feel ignored or left alone for long periods. I provide multiple walks each day, plenty of playtime, and a calm, safe environment where pets can feel comfortable and cared for. I also send frequent photo and message updates so you can feel connected and reassured while you’re away, almost like your pet never left your side. My goal is to make every pet feel happy, safe, and loved while giving owners complete peace of mind. I’m home most of the time, which allows me to provide consistent supervision and attention for pets throughout the day. I attend church on Sunday mornings but return shortly after, so pets are never left alone for long. I’m available for boarding most days and offer flexible scheduling to fit your needs and convenience. What to expect: Your pet will stay in a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of space to play and explore. We have a securely gated two-acre property with a private trail in the backyard and lots of grassy areas where pets can run, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors safely under supervision. My goal is to give pets a fun, active, and loving stay while making owners feel confident their pets are well cared for. Your pet will be very safe because I only let them free range run when I close the gate so they can’t run too far and I’ll have perfect view of them.

I'm an open book I'm currently going to school online so I have a completely flexible schedule and can't wait for this new venture in my life I prefer not to care for animals in my own home. About: I’ve been taking care of animals for a long time! I’ve taken care of small dogs, BIG dogs, moody cats, and dogs with medical care needs. I’m currently enrolled at UW for graduate school (go Huskies!) My program is classified as a “professional” program so most of my courses will take place in the evenings. I’m free during the day to help out with your pet needs! My cats are royalty at home. They both drink out of a water fountain, have a chip activated feeder, and eat food that is, frankly, bankrupting me. I only want the best for my fur-babies and I will treat your pets as if they were my own.

Lucy got sick but Jennifer kept me informed every step of the way and got her to the ER so she could get the care she needed. I felt upset with myself but also relieved after speaking with the ER Vet who said we should have increased Lucys prednisone when we are away. Anyhow Jennifer went above and beyond with sending pictures and videos of Lucy which assured me she was being well taken care of. I booked her because she brought her dog Champ who fell in love with Lucy. I was able to enjoy our time in Hawaii only after seeing Lucy playing with Champ.

I'm so grateful to have found Lisa. She is wonderful with our fairly particular and needy dog. She took excellent care of her and was super flexible on my last minute request. She worked closely with me to make sure our dog wasn't alone for too long and gave great updates to keep me assured our pup was doing well while we were gone. She also helped me at the last minute with a dog walk when I was unable to do it! I love seeing how much my dog likes her! ❤️

I felt like I left my sweet, anxious, and dog reactive gal, Magpie in safe hands with ML. He has a calm presence and was communicative during our trip. He left our house in great shape and I could tell when I got home that Magpie was relaxed and happy, which is always a great sign to me! I would definitely recommend him for house/dog sitting needs, and hope to book with him again in the future!

FAQs for House Sitting - Tahlequah

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 7,799 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tahlequah. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tahlequah walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tahlequah maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tahlequah choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tahlequah. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
